Abstract
The present application relates to a soothing composition, a method of making and use thereof. The composition comprises the following components in percentage by mass: sweet orange essential oil: 0.1% -10%, sage essential oil: 0.05-2%, methyl salicylate: 0.2-3%, tocopherol: 0.01-0.5%, base oil: and (4) the balance. The soothing composition can achieve the effects of soothing skin, relieving muscle fatigue, relaxing spirit and adjusting mood through smelling and massaging.
Description
Technical Field
The invention belongs to the field of cosmetics, and particularly relates to a soothing composition as well as a preparation method and application thereof.
Background
The essential oil is volatile aromatic substance extracted from flower, leaf, stem, root or fruit, trunk of plant by steam distillation, squeezing, cold soaking or solvent extraction. The essential oil belongs to natural plant spice. Aromatherapy is an adjuvant therapy which uses essential oil extracted by distillation of aromatic plants to achieve the integrated therapeutic effect of body, heart and spirit. The essential oil contains ketone, ester and other chemical components, which determine its therapeutic properties, and can be used by direct inhalation, bathing, massage, etc. to improve anxiety, pain, fatigue and wound healing. The efficacy of the essential oil covers both the physical and emotional aspects, and can play an important role in both the health maintenance and the adjuvant therapy of diseases.
Disclosure of Invention
The application provides a soothing composition and a preparation method and application thereof. The soothing massage composition can achieve the effects of soothing skin, relieving muscle fatigue, relaxing spirit and regulating mood.
In one aspect, the present application provides a composition comprising sweet orange essential oil, methyl salicylate, sage essential oil.
Sweet orange (Citrus sinensis) essential oil is one of the few essential oils with sedative effect, has sweet orange fragrance, can dispel tension and stress, improve insomnia caused by anxiety, and promote sweating, thereby helping blocked skin to discharge toxin, and is helpful for people with oily skin, acne or dry skin.
In the present application, the amount of the sweet orange essential oil added is 0.1 to 10% by mass, preferably 1 to 5% by mass, more preferably 3 to 5% by mass, and still more preferably 3 to 4% by mass. If the addition amount of the sweet orange essential oil is less than 0.1 percent, the synergistic relieving effect is not obvious; if the amount of the sweet orange essential oil added is more than 10%, the cost is high, and the effect of the extra sweet orange essential oil cannot be further increased.
Salvia (Salvia japonica) essential oil is an essential oil extracted from dried leaves of Salvia officinalis by steam distillation. With a very small dose, it has a sedative effect on nerves, since it can relieve parasympathetic nerves, and is suitable for tired, depressed and saddled states. The reaction is faster, and the memory is obviously enhanced.
In the present invention, the amount of sage essential oil added is 0.05% to 2%, preferably 0.05% to 1%, more preferably 0.05% to 0.5%, and still more preferably 0.05% to 0.3% by mass.
The methyl salicylate can promote local blood circulation, and can generate stimulation reactions such as skin vasodilatation, red skin color and the like by external application or local inunction, reflectively influence the skin, muscles, nerves and joints of corresponding parts, play the roles of detumescence, antiphlogosis and analgesia, and also have the effect of relieving itching.
In the present application, the amount of methyl salicylate added is 0.2% to 3%, preferably 0.2% to 2%, more preferably 0.2% to 1%, and still more preferably 0.3% to 1% by mass. If the amount of methyl salicylate added is more than 3%, it will cause skin irritation and smell too much, and the smell will be too strong.

In some embodiments, the composition comprises the following components in percentage by mass:
sweet orange essential oil: 3% -4%;
sage essential oil: 0.05% -0.3%;
methyl salicylate: 0.3% -1%;
and (3) tocopherol: 0.1 to 0.5 percent;

In some embodiments, the method of preparing the sweet orange essential oil comprises the steps of: adding 2-5% sodium chloride water solution into pulverized fresh pericarpium Citri Junoris, and distilling and extracting according to the material-to-liquid ratio of 1 (8-15) for 50-80 min; preferably distilling and extracting for 60 min; repeating for 3-8 times, and collecting distillate.
In some embodiments, the method of preparing sage essential oil comprises the steps of: continuously extracting pulverized fresh salvia officinalis for 1-2 hours under reflux; preferably for 1.5 hours under continuous reflux; collecting distillate, standing for 1-2 hr for natural layering, and collecting upper layer substance.
In some embodiments, the base oil is selected from one or more blends of rosehip oil, olive oil, rice bran oil, canola oil, avocado oil, macadamia nut oil, meadowfoam seed oil, hydrogenated jojoba oil.
In one aspect, the application also provides the use of the composition in massage oil, cosmetics, skin care products and perfume.
In some embodiments, the skin care product comprises an aqueous-based skin care product, a gel-based skin care product, an emulsion-based skin care product, or a cream-based skin care product.
In one aspect, the present application also provides a method of preparing the composition, comprising the steps of:
(1) weighing the raw materials according to the formula;
(2) stirring and mixing sweet orange essential oil, sage essential oil, methyl salicylate and base oil at the rotating speed of 20-30 revolutions per minute for 3-10 minutes to obtain a mixture A;
(3) adding tocopherol into the mixture A, and uniformly stirring;
(4) and (6) checking to be qualified and discharging.

Examples 1 to 3
The soothing massage essential oils of examples 1 to 3 were prepared according to the contents of the respective components in table 1 below by total weight of 100 g.

The method for preparing the soothing massage essential oil of the above embodiments 1 to 3 includes the following steps:
(1) weighing the raw materials according to the formula;
(2) stirring and mixing sweet orange essential oil, sage essential oil, methyl salicylate and olive oil at the rotating speed of 20-30 r/min for 5 min to obtain a mixture A;
(3) adding tocopherol into the mixture A and uniformly stirring to obtain the soothing massage essential oil;
(4) and (6) checking to be qualified and discharging.
Comparative examples 1 to 3
The soothing massage essential oils of comparative examples 1 to 3 were prepared according to the preparation methods of examples 1 to 3 in accordance with the contents of the respective components in table 2 below by total weight of 100 g.

The soothing massage essential oils of comparative examples 7 to 12 were prepared according to the preparation methods of examples 1 to 3 in accordance with the contents of the respective components in table 4 below by total weight of 100 g.

Cortisol content test
The soothing massage essential oils of examples 1 to 3, comparative examples 1 to 3 were subjected to the effect test:
subject criteria include:
(1) age 18 years old or older;
(2) the health of the body;
(3) no major mental stress events occurred within 1 month before the trial;
(4) no incense and no allergy history of essential oil;
(5) voluntarily accept the tested person, and can cooperate with the relevant examination and sign the informed consent. The test subjects were unable to smoke, ingest spicy food, drink alcoholic beverages, drinks containing irritant substances such as caffeine, and the like within 12 hours before the test. The experiment should not be done with strenuous exercise, stay up all night, and engage in activities with excessive psychological stimulation within a week.
The fragrance smelling test takes 19:00-20:00 of each day as the fragrance smelling time, and the fragrance smelling period is 3 days. The experimental saliva sample is collected twice, the first collection is carried out before the fragrance is smelled for the first time, the second collection is carried out after the fragrance is smelled for the last time, and the test index is the content of cortisol in saliva.
7 subjects were randomized into test and blank control groups and the subjects were organized into seven isolated, fixed, quiet room spaces. One hour before smelling the fragrance, the essential oil was allowed to fill the entire space using an electronic sprayer and continuously release the fragrance during the experiment. The subject took part in reading, eye-closing and mental-tranquilization or other activities of relieving when smelling the fragrance. The blank control group was organized into another equivalent room space, using pure water without odor diffusion as a control.
The salivary cortisol collection is divided into two times, the first collection is carried out before the first fragrance smelling, and the second collection is carried out after the last fragrance smelling. The test subjects rinsed their mouths with clear water 10 minutes before collection. Saliva is collected by using a saliva cotton bar collecting tube, a small tube which can be taken out and is provided with a small hole at the lower part is arranged above the collecting tube, a cotton bar for infiltrating the saliva is arranged in the small tube, and the saliva can flow to the bottom end of the saliva cotton bar collecting tube through the small hole after centrifugation. Placing the cotton sliver under the tongue for 2 minutes, putting the cotton sliver into the small tube of the collecting tube after the cotton sliver is completely soaked by saliva, centrifuging for 15 minutes at the rotating speed of 3000 r/min, allowing the centrifuged saliva to flow to the bottom end of the saliva cotton sliver collecting tube through the small hole, collecting 6ml of saliva, storing in the saliva cotton sliver collecting tube, and immediately refrigerating. And (4) conveying the centrifuged saliva cotton sliver collecting tube to a freezer with the temperature of-20 ℃ within 30 minutes for freezing storage, and detecting within 15 days. In general, the cortisol concentration in blood is much higher than the salivary cortisol concentration, so blood contamination can seriously affect the measurement result of salivary cortisol, and after collection, an experimenter uses the naked eyes to check whether the salivary cotton sliver is contaminated by blood in the oral cavity one by one, if the salivary cotton sliver is contaminated by blood, such as gum bleeding, the research object is rejected as a person which does not meet the test requirement, and the candidate research object does not participate in the experiment any more and is supplemented.
And detecting the content of the salivary cortisol by adopting a kit for a coagulation enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The specific test results are shown in table 5.

As can be seen from Table 3, the subjects of the examples smelled the soothing and pressure-reducing essential oil, the content of cortisol in saliva was significantly reduced, the content of cortisol before and after smelling the essential oil of the example 3 was reduced by 325.91pmol/ml, and the content of cortisol in saliva of the blank control group and the comparative example was less varied within 100.
Usually, the increase of cortisol content indicates that the body is in a stress state, faces a greater stress and the spirit is in a tension and excitation state. The low cortisol content level indicates that the body is in a relaxed and stable state, and the result indicates that the soothing massage essential oil has the effects of relieving stress and harmonizing physical and mental thoughts.
Questionnaire survey for relaxing and relaxing spirit
At the end of the cortisol content test described above, subjects were subjected to a relaxing questionnaire. The effect was evaluated using 5 ratings, and the evaluation values (5 point ratings) were counted and shown in table 6 below and fig. 1.

As can be seen from the results of Table 6 above and FIG. 1, the soothing essential oils of the present invention have a better relaxing effect than the comparative essential oils.
The lower score when the content of each component in the essential oil is too large (as in comparative examples 8, 10 and 12) may be due to the fact that the taste is too strong and the mental stress of the user is easily caused.
In view of the many possible embodiments to which the principles of the disclosed invention may be applied, it should be recognized that the illustrated embodiments are only preferred examples of the application and should not be taken as limiting the scope of the application. Rather, the scope of the application is defined by the appended claims. We therefore claim as our invention all that comes within the scope and spirit of these claims.
Claims (9)
1. A composition comprises sweet orange essential oil, methyl salicylate, and sage essential oil.
2. The composition according to claim 1, wherein the composition comprises the following components in percentage by mass:
sweet orange essential oil: 0.1% -10%;
sage essential oil: 0.05% -2%;
methyl salicylate: 0.2% -3%;
and (3) tocopherol: 0.01% -0.5%;
base oil: and (4) the balance.
3. The composition according to claim 2, wherein the composition comprises the following components in percentage by mass:
sweet orange essential oil: 1% -5%;
sage essential oil: 0.05% -1%;
Methyl salicylate: 0.2% -2%;
and (3) tocopherol: 0.1 to 0.5 percent;
base oil: and (4) the balance.
4. The composition according to claim 2, wherein the composition comprises the following components in percentage by mass:
sweet orange essential oil: 3% -5%;
sage essential oil: 0.05% -0.5%;
methyl salicylate: 0.2% -1%;
and (3) tocopherol: 0.1 to 0.5 percent;
base oil: and (4) the balance.
5. The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the sweet orange essential oil is prepared by a method comprising the steps of: adding 2-5% sodium chloride water solution into pulverized fresh pericarpium Citri Junoris, and distilling and extracting according to the material-to-liquid ratio of 1 (8-15) for 50-80 min; preferably distilling and extracting for 60 min; repeating for 3-8 times, and collecting distillate.
6. The composition of any one of claims 1-4, wherein said sage essential oil is prepared by a process comprising the steps of: continuously extracting pulverized fresh salvia officinalis for 1-2 hours under reflux; preferably for 1.5 hours under continuous reflux; collecting distillate, standing for 1-2 hr for natural layering, and collecting upper layer substance.
7. The composition of any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the base oil is selected from the group consisting of one or more of rosehip oil, olive oil, rice oil, canola oil, avocado oil, macadamia seed oil, meadowfoam seed oil, and hydrogenated jojoba oil.
8. Use of a composition according to any one of claims 1 to 5 in massage oils, cosmetics, skin care products, perfumes; preferably, the skin care product comprises an aqueous type skin care product, a gel type skin care product, an emulsion type skin care product or a cream type skin care product.
9. A process for preparing the composition according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that it comprises the following steps:
(1) weighing the raw materials according to the formula;
(2) stirring and mixing sweet orange essential oil, sage essential oil, methyl salicylate and base oil at the rotating speed of 20-30 revolutions per minute for 3-10 minutes to obtain a mixture A;
(3) adding the tocopherol into the mixture A, and stirring and mixing the mixture A uniformly.
