평가 방법 : 소음 및 기타 향기를 배제한 공간에서 실험용기에 담긴 비자나 무 추출물의 향기를 코로 천천히 흡입한 다음, 향기에 대한 느낌을 설문지의 항목에 따라 작성함. 관능 실험이 종료되면 실험공간을 완전히 환기시켜 다음 피실험자들이 향기에 대한 선입견을 가지지 않도록 유의함.Evaluation method: In the space excluding noise and other fragrance, slowly inhale the fragrance of visa or non-extract contained in the experimental container into the nose, and write the feeling about the fragrance according to the items of the questionnaire. 향기 감성평가에서 6점 척도로 측정된 각 요인별 문항의 점수를 더하여 평균을 낸 후, 평균값이 4.0 이하이면 향기 감성에 대한 이미지가 긍정적이고, 4.0 초과인 경우에는 일반적으로 향기 감성에 대한 이미지가 낮은 것으로 해석된다. 관능평가에 참여한 피실험자들이 비자나무 추출물의 향기에 대해 느끼는 가장 대표적인 감성은 아래의 [표 1]과 [표 1]의 결과를 그래프화한 [도 4]에 나타난 것과 같이 자연적이다(2.10±1.0284), 진하다(2.10±0.64027)에 가장 긍정적인 반응을 보인 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 개성적이다(2.75±1.25132)와 강렬하다(2.80±1.54238), 자극적이다(2.90±1.29371)가 뒤를 이었다. 도시적이다-전원적이다(4.90±1.07115), 흥분된다-차분해진다(4.80±1.50787), 경망스럽다-엄숙하다(4.55±1.23438)의 문항에는 각각 전원적이다, 차분해진다, 엄숙하다 경향의 결과를 보였다. 그 외 안정되다(3.15±1.30888)와 특이하다(3.15±1.42441), 그리고 자연스럽다(3.30±1.21828) 등의 항목에도 긍정적인 이미지를 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. <실시예 1>의 비자나무 초임계 추출물의 향기에 대한 감성평가에서 자연적이면서도 강렬하다는 이미지가 대표적으로 나타났으며, 다소 강한 느낌의 새로운 자연의 향기라는 긍정적인 이미지로 표현될 수 있을 것이다. 이는 비자나무의 신선하고 프레쉬한 느낌, 그리고 나무의 잎에서 풍기는 다소 강한 향기가 어우러져 새로운 자연의 향기를 느낄 수 있었던 것으로 여겨진다. 아로마테라피에서 사용되는 기존의 나무 향기는 대부분 모노터핀류 또는 캄포, 시네올 등의 성분이 주를 이루었으나, 비자나무 추출물의 향기 성분은 liminene, torreyal, nuciferol, kayaflavone, pinene, torreyol 등으로 이루어져 기존의 아로마테라피 향기와는 다소 상이하게 느껴지는 결과를 보였다.
