Background
Selenium is a chemical element, the chemical symbol is Se, is a nutrient element beneficial to plants and is also a trace element necessary for human bodies, and the selenium can improve the immunity of the human bodies, promote the proliferation of lymphocytes and the synthesis of antibodies and immune globulin. Selenium has obvious inhibiting and protecting effects on colon cancer, skin cancer, liver cancer, breast cancer and other cancers, and a methyl enol which is an intermediate metabolite in a body has strong anticancer activity. Selenium and vitamin E, garlicin, linoleic acid, germanium, zinc and other nutrients have synergistic antioxidant effect and increased antioxidant activity. Meanwhile, selenium has the effect of relieving and alleviating heavy metal toxicity.
The selenium deficiency of human body can cause various diseases, most typically, local disease-keshan disease in keshan county of Heilongjiang province of China, Kaschin-Beck disease, cancer, cardiovascular disease, cataract, cystic fibrosis, hypertension, thyromegaly, immunologic deficiency, lymphoblastic anemia, retinal spot degeneration, muscular dystrophy, ulcerative colitis, arthritis and human body aging are directly connected with the selenium deficiency of human body. Therefore, the selenium-enriched food has important significance on human health.
The selenium-rich rice not only preserves all the nutrient components of common rice, but also has various special health care functions of resisting and preventing cancer, protecting heart, delaying senility, resisting oxidation, eliminating free radicals, improving human immunity and the like. Because the special health care function of the selenium-rich rice and the selenium are mineral trace elements necessary for human bodies, people can improve the quality of life, the development is rapid in recent years, the growth of the selenium-rich rice has strict requirements on the environment, and the seedling raising process of the selenium-rich rice can influence the yield of the rice and the selenium content of the harvested rice.
