Technical Field
The invention relates to a method for stimulating a plurality of areas of the head of a patient by utilizing light, sound and vibration with specific frequencies so as to achieve better effect on treating Alzheimer's disease.
Background
Alzheimer's Disease (AD), a neurodegenerative disease, causes significant atrophy of the brain region, with neuronal and synaptic damage to the brain and specific subcortical regions of the patient. AD is also considered a disease caused by protein misfolding because of the large amount of amyloid deposits and neurofibrillary tangles in the brain region of AD patients, which are considered to be the main cause of neuronal damage. Currently, no effective drug for treating AD exists in the world.
Phototherapy is used to treat a number of mental health problems, including: seasonal affective disorder; bipolar depression; chronic depressive disorder; current research indicates that it is also useful for dementia. Researchers have recently discovered that phototherapy can enhance synaptic function and prevent neuronal cell death in patients with Alzheimer's disease! In addition to phototherapy, magnetic signals can penetrate through the skull without attenuation and stimulate cerebral nerves, and can enhance or inhibit cortex excitability of a targeted cortical region, so that the magnetic stimulation is widely applied to treatment of mental and nervous system diseases at present, in recent years, research on the effect of transcranial magnetic stimulation on cognitive function improvement is increased, and research results of the effect of transcranial magnetic stimulation on cognitive function improvement show that TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) has an obvious effect on cognitive function improvement of AD patients.
Patent CN107185113A discloses a therapeutic device comprising: a housing wearable on a head by a user; a magnet mounted on the housing; the near-infrared irradiation module is mounted on the shell and can emit near-infrared irradiation towards the interior of the shell; and a control module coupled with the near-infrared illumination module.
