Abstract
Cooling and trapping of nitrogen oxides NO present in diesel engine exhaust gases on an aqueous basis with specific liquid solutions of surfactant mixtures and various oxide formulationsxSulfur compound and particulate matter PM10And (4) harmful substances. The particular liquid solution is continuously purified and regenerated by a particular electrolytic reactor and then recycled.
Description
The particular liquid solution of the subject of the invention formulated according to the table shown in fig. 1 allows to neutralize all the harmful substances (NO) in the exhaust gases of diesel enginesxAnd SO2). The particular liquid solution mixes with the flue gases while cooling them to a temperature in the range of 35 c to 55 c, only slightly above ambient temperature. These conditions help to trap specific substances PM also in the exhaust gas10With the result that they are not dragged away by the exhaust gas flow. The best mode of operation for cooling and mixing the exhaust gases requires a specific catalytic bed where a specific liquid solution performs its function.
As a specific liquid solution on an aqueous basis (more than 90% by volume), it can be operated at low temperature and treated by an electrolytic process for purification and regeneration.
In order to promote carbon clusters of various sizes and specific substances PM10The capture and subsequent dispersion of (a), specific liquid solutions require different types of effective surfactants.
Potassium carbonate K in specific liquid solutions2CO3Combined with potassium hydroxide KOH, allowing selective neutralization of NOxAnd SO2The acidic compound of (1).
Potassium permanganate KMnO4(a strongly oxidizing compound) promotes the oxidation of nitric oxide NO to nitrogen dioxide NO2The latter is more readily neutralized by potassium hydroxide KOH.
The components of this particular liquid solution make it possible to purify and regenerate them from harmful substances, this process taking place in a suitable electrolytic reactor, since the ions present in the solution allow the recombination of the original components, thus eliminating the need to add solutes and maintaining their functional characteristics at all times during a plurality of operating cycles.
Figure 1 shows a graph relating to volume percentage, the range and best suggestion of different components of a particular liquid solution that is the subject of the invention.
The suggested optimal composition is: 93% distilled water, 3.8% surfactant mixture, 2.3% potassium carbonate K2CO30.65% potassium permanganate KMnO40.25% potassium hydroxide, KOH.
