Abstract

Description
技术领域
本发明涉及用于改进制造纸或板(纸板,board)产品中的表面施胶的方法。根据本发明,通过喷射蒸煮(jet cooking)处理微原纤化纤维素(MFC)、淀粉和颜料或填料的水性分散体并且随后用于制造纸或板产品的方法中的表面施胶。
背景技术
所有待用于激光打印机、喷墨打印机和其他不同的印刷(打印)方法如胶版印刷和柔版印刷的纸和纸板的主要部分,均用表面施胶组合物进行表面处理,以便改进可印刷性以及纸或纸板的其他性质。表面施胶组合物主要由改性淀粉或其他水胶体或表面施胶试剂组成。
喷墨打印对印刷纸要求很高,因为油墨必须在基底上快速干燥,并且还提供高印刷质量,具有例如高光印刷密度、最小化的羽毛化现象(feathering)和渗出(bleeding)以及低的透印(strike-through)。近年来已经发现当多价的盐,比如氯化钙,被添加至表面施胶剂时,所施加的油墨会快速沉淀在纸的表面上并且产生显著改进的印刷质量。这在喷墨打印中是尤其有利的。
与印刷未经涂覆的纸相关的一个问题是粉化(dusting),即纸表面脱落松散且粘合较弱的颗粒的倾向,所述颗粒可在印刷机器上累积。所述粘合较弱的颗粒大部分包含源自于存在于基体纸中的填料的不同形式的碳酸钙,比如沉淀碳酸钙(PCC)、白垩和重质碳酸钙(GCC)。
在本领域中,已经通过提高纸内的粘合进行降低纸的粉化倾向的尝试。然而,近年来,对降低生产成本的更严苛的要求已经提高了在印刷纸制造中填料的使用。在更高的填料含量下,纸内的粘合被弱化,由此粉化倾向性提高。
US20150125658涉及铸涂原纸(release base paper),其中纤维素纳米纤丝(任选地与淀粉和淀粉交联剂相结合)作为涂料(涂层,coating)添加到部分干燥的纸的幅材上。
先前已经建议过在表面施胶中使用淀粉和MFC以降低粉化倾向,但这通常导致与高粘度和低固体含量相关的问题。
因此需要使得能够使用MFC和淀粉进行表面施胶但避免通常与这些技术相关的缺点的方法。
发明内容
本发明的目标在于提供改进的表面施胶的方法,其消除了或减轻了现有技术方法中的至少一些缺点。
已经令人惊奇地发现通过制备MFC、淀粉和颜料和/或填料的水性分散体,其通过喷射蒸煮处理并且随后用于制造纸或板产品方法中的表面施胶,可避免用于表面施胶的组合物的粘度过高、特别是拉伸粘度过高的问题。然而,仍实现了减少粉化的优点。
因此,根据第一方面,提供用于表面施胶的方法,其包括以下步骤:
a)提供包含微原纤化纤维素、淀粉和颜料和/或填料的水性分散体;
b)任选地向步骤a)的分散体添加氧化试剂和/或酶;
c)喷射蒸煮步骤a)或b)的分散体;和
d)将在步骤c)的喷射蒸煮之后获得的产物用于在制造纸或板产品的方法中的表面施胶。
使用的微原纤化纤维素(MFC)的量为每吨干纸或板产品2.5kg至25kg。
使用的淀粉的量为每吨干纸或板产品25kg至50kg。淀粉为阳离子型、阴离子型、两性的或天然的。在一种实施方式中,使用的淀粉是天然的。在一种实施方式中,使用的淀粉是阳离子淀粉。
使用的颜料和/或填料的量为每吨干纸或板产品6kg至50kg。
可在步骤b)中添加的氧化试剂包括过氧化氢、次氯酸钠、次氯酸钙、过硫酸铵、过硫酸钾、过氧化氢、高锰酸钾、亚氯酸钠、过硼酸盐和次氯酸。
可在步骤b)中添加的酶包括淀粉酶,如α-淀粉酶。
步骤c)的喷射蒸煮在本领域已知的常规喷射蒸煮设备中进行。喷射蒸煮在通常用在用于表面施胶中的组合物的制备中的常规条件下进行。
表面施胶使用本领域中已知的方法进行。
颜料和/或填料一般选自沉淀碳酸钙、天然重质碳酸钙、白云石、滑石、膨润土、粘土、菱镁矿、缎光白、海泡石、黄铁矿、硅藻土、硅酸盐及其混合物。尤其优选的是:沉淀碳酸钙,其可具有球霰石、方解石或文石晶体结构,和/或天然重质碳酸钙,其可选自大理石、石灰石和/或白垩。
在本发明的一种实施方式中,根据本发明所使用的一种填料或多种填料为沉淀碳酸钙(PCC)、重质碳酸钙(GCC)和/或白垩。
在本发明的一种实施方式中,根据本发明的方法的步骤d)通过以下步骤进行:提供包含至少20重量%的量的填料的原纸,其中填料包含碳酸钙,和向所述原纸的表面施加根据本发明的步骤a)至c)制备的施胶组合物。
在本发明的一种实施方式中,微原纤化纤维素的Schopper Riegler值(SR°)可为大于85SR°、或大于90SR°、或大于92SR°。Schopper-Riegler值可通过EN ISO 5267-1中定义的标准方法测定。
具体实施方式
微原纤化纤维素(MFC)在本专利申请的上下文中是指至少一个维度小于100nm的纳米尺度的纤维素颗粒纤维或纤丝。MFC包含部分或全部原纤化的纤维素或木质纤维素纤维。释放的纤丝直径小于100nm,而实际的纤丝直径或粒径分布和/或纵横比(长度/宽度)取决于来源和制造方法。
最小的纤丝被称为基元纤丝且直径为约2-4nm(见例如Chinga-Carrasco,G.,Cellulose fibres,nanofibrils and microfibrils,:The morphological sequence ofMFC components from a plant physiology and fibre technology point of view,Nanoscale research letters 2011,6:417),而常见的是基元纤丝的附聚形式,也称作微纤丝(Fengel,D.,Ultrastructural behavior of cell wall polysaccharides,TappiJ.,March 1970,Vol 53,No.3.),其是当例如通过使用延长精磨方法或压降解离方法制造MFC时得到的主要产物。取决于来源和制造方法,纤丝的长度可在约1微米至大于10微米变化。粗MFC级分(grade)可能含有显著分数的原纤化的纤维,即从管胞(纤维素纤维)突出的纤丝,和一定量的从管胞(纤维素纤维)释放出的纤丝。
MFC存在不同的缩写,比如纤维素微原纤丝、原纤化纤维素、纳米原先化纤维素、纤丝附聚物、纳米尺度纤维素纤丝、纤维素纳米纤维、纤维素纳米纤丝、纤维素微纤维、纤维素纤丝、微原纤纤维素、微纤丝附聚物和纤维素微纤丝附聚物。MFC的特征还在于各种物理或物理化学性质,比如高表面积或其在分散在水中时在低固体物条件下(1-5重量%)形成凝胶状材料的能力。优选将纤维素纤维原纤化至这样的程度,即所形成的MFC的最终比表面积为约1至300m2/g,比如1至200m2/g,或更优选50至200m2/g,当用BET方法为冷冻干燥的材料测定时。
存在多种制造MFC的方法,比如单次或多次精磨、预水解随后是纤丝的精磨或高剪切解离或释放。通常需要一个或多个预处理步骤以使得MFC制造能量有效且为可持续的。因此,可将待提供的纸浆的纤维素纤维用酶或化学方式预处理,例如以降低半纤维素或木质素的量。在原纤化之前可将纤维素纤维化学改性,其中纤维素分子含有不同于(或多于)原始纤维素中发现的官能团。这样的基团包括羧甲基(CM)、醛基和/或羧基(通过N-氧基介导的氧化例如“TEMPO”获得的纤维素)、或季铵(阳离子纤维素)。在用上述方法之一改性或氧化之后,更容易将纤维解离成为MFC或纳米原纤尺寸纤丝。
纳米纤丝纤维素可含有一些半纤维素;该量取决于植物来源。经预处理的纤维(例如经水解、预溶胀、或氧化的纤维素原材料)的机械解离,用合适的设备进行,比如精磨机、研磨机、均质机、胶体排除装置(colloider)、摩擦研磨机、超声超声波仪、流化器比如微流化器、宏观流化器或流化器型均质机。取决于MFC制造方法,产物还可能含有细料(fines),或纳米结晶纤维素,或例如存在于木纤维或造纸方法中的其他化学品。产物还可能含有各种量的未被有效原纤化的微米尺寸的纤维颗粒。
由木纤维素纤维生产MFC,由阔叶木或针叶木纤维两者。其还可由微生物来源、农业纤维如麦草浆、竹子、甘蔗渣或其他非木纤维来源制成。其优选由纸浆制成,包括来自原生纤维的纸浆,例如机械、化学和/或热机械浆。其还可由损纸或再生纸制成。
以上描述的MFC的定义包括,但不限于,对纤维素纳米纤丝(CMF)新提出的TAPPI标准W13021,其定义了含有多个具有结晶和无定型区域的基元纤丝的纤维素纳米纤维材料。
在本发明的步骤a)中制备的分散体还可包含其他处理或功能添加剂,比如湿强度化学品、滞留(retention)化学品、交联剂、软化剂或增塑剂、粘合底漆、润湿剂、生物杀灭剂、光学染料、荧光增白剂、消泡化学品、疏水化学品比如AKD、ASA、蜡、树脂等,盐比如氯化钠、氯化钙以及二价和多价金属离子的其他的盐。
在本发明的一种实施方式中,首先将颜料和/或填料添加至包含MFC的分散体。由此获得的分散体随后用于制备还包含淀粉的浆料。在淀粉溶解之后,获得步骤a)的水性分散体。
鉴于本发明的上述详细描述,其他修改和变化对于本领域技术人员来说将变得显而易见。然而,应该显而易见的是,在不脱离本发明的精神和范围的情况下,可以实现这样的其他修改和变化。
Claims (7)
1.用于表面施胶的方法,其包括以下步骤:
a)提供包含微原纤化纤维素、淀粉和颜料和/或填料的水性分散体;
b)任选地向步骤a)的分散体添加氧化试剂和/或酶;
c)喷射蒸煮步骤a)或b)的分散体;和
d)将在步骤c)的喷射蒸煮之后获得的产物用于在制造纸或板产品的方法中的表面施胶。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述填料选自沉淀碳酸钙、白垩和重质碳酸钙。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的方法,其中该方法中使用的微原纤化纤维素的量为每吨干纸或板产品2.5kg至25kg。
4.根据权利要求1-3中任一项所述的方法,其中该方法中使用的淀粉的量为每吨干纸或板产品25kg至50kg。
5.根据权利要求1-4中任一项所述的方法,其中该方法中使用的颜料和/或填料的量为每吨干纸或板产品6kg至50kg。
6.在权利要求1的步骤c)中获得的用于表施胶的组合物。
7.使用权利要求1-5中任一项的方法获得的纸或板产品。
