本发明公开了一种指示方法,包括:第一用户设备接收第二用户设备发送的第一消息,所述第一消息中包含指示所述第二用户设备支持演进的用户设备到网络的中继功能的信息;所述第一用户设备接收网络设备发送的第二消息,所述第二消息中包含指示所述网络设备支持演进的用户设备到网络的中继的信息,或者所述第二消息中包含指示所述网络设备发送所述第二消息的小区支持演进的用户设备到网络的中继的信息。本发明实施例还提供了相关设备。采用本发明实施例可使得eRemote UE知道一个Relay UE是否支持Layer‑2 Relay,以及eRemote UE知道其当前服务小区是否支持Layer‑2 Relay。
