Abstract

The invention provides a display module and a manufacturing method thereof, belongs to the technical field of display, and can at least partially solve the problems that the performance of the display module is influenced by a scratched protective film in the conventional display module and the conventional display module is relatively thick. The invention provides a display module, comprising: a display panel having opposing first and second surfaces; the display assembly is arranged on one side of the first surface of the display panel; and the heat dissipation film is directly attached to the second surface of the display panel.

Display module and manufacturing method thereof
Technical Field
The invention belongs to the technical field of display, and particularly relates to a display module and a manufacturing method thereof.
Background
A display module in the prior art generally includes a display panel, a display module (such as a polarizer, an adhesive layer, and cover glass) disposed on one side of the display panel, a protection film (BPF, the thickness of which may be 0.1mm) disposed on the other side of the display panel, and a heat dissipation film (which may be formed by combining a foam structure layer and a copper structure layer) attached to one side of the protection film away from the display panel. The protective film is used for preventing the substrate from being damaged in the process (namely, module process) of cutting the display panel, manufacturing the display assembly or other steps so as to ensure the yield of products.
However, on one hand, the protective film may be scratched during cutting, turnover of manufacturing the display module, the substrate, or other steps, and the scratched protective film may affect the performance of the display module; on the other hand, the bilayer structure of protection film and heat dissipation membrane makes whole display module assembly thickness bigger, and then is unfavorable for forming slim display module assembly.
Disclosure of Invention
The invention at least partially solves the problems that the performance of the display module is influenced by a scratched protective film in the conventional display module and the conventional display module is thicker, and provides a thin display module with improved performance.
The technical scheme adopted for solving the technical problem of the invention is a display module, which comprises:
a display panel having opposing first and second surfaces;
the display assembly is arranged on one side of the first surface of the display panel;
and the heat dissipation film is directly attached to the second surface of the display panel.
Further preferably, the display module further includes: the optical fingerprint layer is arranged on one side, far away from the display panel, of the heat dissipation film and used for detecting fingerprints through optical signals.
It is further preferred that the heat dissipation film has an opening corresponding to the optical fingerprint layer.
Further preferably, the display panel is a flexible display panel; the display panel is provided with a display area, a connecting area and a bending area positioned between the display area and the connecting area.

The invention will be described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Like elements in the various figures are denoted by like reference numerals. For purposes of clarity, the various features in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale. Moreover, certain well-known elements may not be shown in the figures.
In the following description, numerous specific details of the invention, such as structure, materials, dimensions, processing techniques and techniques of components, are set forth in order to provide a more thorough understanding of the invention. However, as will be understood by those skilled in the art, the present invention may be practiced without these specific details.
Example 1:
as shown in fig. 1, the present embodiment provides a display module, including:
a display panel 10 having first and second opposing surfaces;
a display module 20 disposed on a first surface side of the display panel 10;
and a heat dissipation film 30 directly attached to the second surface of the display panel 10.
The display panel 10 of the present embodiment may be cut from a display panel mother board, that is, one display panel mother board may be cut into a plurality of display panels 10. The display panel 10 has a display function, and the display assembly 20 may include a polarizer, an adhesive layer, a cover glass, and the like, and is used to form a complete display module together with the display panel 10.
In order to prevent the second surface of the display panel 10 from being damaged during the process of cutting the display panel 10 and forming the display module 20 on the display panel 10, a protective film 50 is formed on the second surface of the display panel 10 before the above processes. The protective film 50 attached to the display panel 10 may be worn during the process of cutting the display panel 10 and forming the display assembly 20 on the display panel 10. After the display assembly 20 on the display panel 10 is formed, the protective film 50 is removed to expose the second surface of the display panel 10, and then a heat dissipation film 30 is attached to the second surface of the display panel 10. The protective film 50 or the heat dissipation film 30 may be attached on the second surface of the display panel 10 by optical glue. The heat dissipation film 30 is used for dissipating heat for the display panel 10, and prevents the display panel 10 from being too hot due to long-time work, thereby ensuring the performance of the display module.
In the display module of the present embodiment, since the protective film 50 has no substantial effect on the display module after the display assembly 20 is formed, the protective film 50 should be removed before the heat dissipation film 30 is attached, so that the heat dissipation film 30 is directly attached to the display panel 10 in the display module. Compared with the display module (the heat dissipation film is directly attached to the protective film without tearing off the protective film) in the prior art, on one hand, the worn protective film 50 does not exist in the display module product (at least does not exist in the display area 11), and the influence of the damaged protective film 50 on the performance of the display panel 10 can be avoided; on the other hand, since the protective film 50 is not provided (at least in the display region 11), the thickness of the display module can be reduced to form a thin display module.
Of course, since the heat dissipation film 30 is directly located on the display panel 10, it should also have a certain protection effect on the display panel 10 to prevent the display panel 10 from being scratched during use.
Preferably, the first surface is a display surface for displaying.
That is, the heat dissipation film can be disposed on a side away from the light emitting surface (display surface).
Preferably, the display module of this embodiment further includes: and the optical fingerprint layer 40 is arranged on one side of the heat dissipation film 30 far away from the display panel 10 and is used for detecting fingerprints through optical signals.
In other words, after the heat dissipation film 30 is attached to the display panel 10, the optical fingerprint layer 40 is formed on the heat dissipation film 30. The optical fingerprint layer 40 may be used to detect and identify fingerprint information from the display panel 10. The heat dissipation film 30 may be made of a transparent material or a material that does not affect the detection of the fingerprint by the optical fingerprint layer 40 to ensure the detection and identification performance of the optical fingerprint layer 40.
Among the display module assembly among the prior art, optical fingerprint layer attaches in the one side of the display panel who has the protection film, because the wearing and tearing in the preceding step of protection film, it has adverse effect to the detection and the discernment performance of optical fingerprint layer, and then causes display module assembly's fingerprint identification performance poor.
In the display module of the embodiment, since the protective film 50 is not disposed on the optical fingerprint layer 40, the detection and identification performance of the optical fingerprint layer 40 is not affected by the damaged protective film 50, so as to improve the fingerprint identification performance of the display module.
Preferably, the heat dissipation film 30 has an opening 31, and the opening 31 corresponds to the optical fingerprint layer 40.
However, that is, the heat dissipation film 30 may also be formed of an opaque material, so that the fingerprint information received by the optical fingerprint layer 40 from the display panel 10 may not be affected as long as the opening 31 is formed at a position of the heat dissipation film 30 corresponding to the optical fingerprint layer 40, and no other layer structure exists between the optical fingerprint layer 40 and the display panel 10. Specifically, the heat dissipation film 30 may be formed by combining a foam structure layer and a metal structure (e.g., copper) layer, and may be bonded to the display panel 10 through an adhesive layer.
The heat dissipation film 30 has the opening 31 corresponding to the optical fingerprint layer 40, so that the detection and identification performance of the optical fingerprint layer 40 can be further ensured, and the types of materials forming the heat dissipation film 30 can be increased.
Preferably, the display panel 10 is a flexible display panel; the display panel 10 has a display region 11, a connection region 13, and a bending region 12 located between the display region 11 and the connection region 13.
In order to increase the area ratio of the display area 11 of the display module to the whole screen when viewed from the front of the display module, so as to improve the user experience, the bending area 12 of the display panel 10 needs to be bent, so that the connection area 13 is located on the second surface side of the display panel 10, and the bending area 12 needs to form a certain radian (cannot be bent like paper).
Preferably, the heat dissipation film 30 is provided only on the display panel 10 of the display region 11.
Wherein, because the heat dissipation film 30 has certain thickness, can cause the influence to the buckling of display panel 10 to the effect that heat dissipation film 30 played is little in the joining region 13 of display panel 10 and bending zone 12, consequently can only locate display panel 10 of display area 11 with heat dissipation film 30 on, can make display panel 10's bending easier like this, thereby reduce the degree of difficulty of display panel 10 bending process, and then reduce the degree of difficulty of the manufacturing process of whole display module assembly.
Preferably, the display module of this embodiment further includes: and a protective film 50 provided only on the second surface of the display panel 10 at the connection region 13.
In this case, before the protective film 50 is torn off, the protective film 50 may be cut into two parts, one part is located on the display panel 10 of the display region 11 and the bending region 12, and the other part is located on the display panel 10 of the connecting region 13. When the protective film 50 is removed, only the portions of the display region 11 and the bending region 12 may be removed, so that the protective film 50 of the connection region 13 remains to protect the display panel 10 of the connection region 13 from being damaged during the bending process.
According to the embodiment, the protection film 50 has an influence on bending, so that the protection film is not remained in the bending region 12, but in the manufacturing process of the display module, the protection film 50 can be firstly arranged in the display region 11 and the bending region 12, and then removed after the module process, so that the protection film 50 can protect the bending region 12 in the module process; according to the prior art, since there is no step of removing the protective film, the bending region is not provided with the protective film at all, and thus is easily damaged in the module process.
The protective film 50 may be formed of a PET plastic layer, or other suitable material, and may be adhered to the display panel 10 by an adhesive layer.
The protection film 50 is only located on the display panel 10 of the connection region 13, so that on one hand, the detection and identification performance of the optical fingerprint layer 40 and the adverse effect of the damaged protection film 50 on the bending process can be avoided, and on the other hand, the second surface of the display panel 10 of the connection region 13 can be effectively protected from being damaged in the bending process.
Example 2:
as shown in fig. 1, fig. 2a to fig. 2d and fig. 3, the present embodiment provides a method for manufacturing a display module, including:
s10, as shown in fig. 2a, a protective film material is formed on the second surface of the display panel mother substrate, and the display panel mother substrate includes a plurality of display panels 10.
The display panel mother board is composed of a plurality of panels arranged in an array, and each panel is a display panel 10.
Specifically, the protective film material is a material layer for forming a protective film, which may be attached to the second surface of the display panel 10 by an optical glue, which may be an easily removable optical glue.
S20, as shown in fig. 2b, cutting the display panel 10 from the display panel mother board by a cutting process, and forming the display assembly 20 on the first surface of the display panel 10 by a module process.
The display assembly 20 may include a polarizer, an adhesive layer, a cover glass, and the like.

Specifically, the protective film material may itself have a slit between the bending region 12 and the connection region 13, or a slit between the bending region 12 and the connection region 13 may be cut in the protective film material, so that the protective film material on the display panel 10 of the display region 11 and the bending region 12 may be separately removed to form the protective film 50.
S40, as shown in fig. 2d, forming the heat dissipation film 30 on the at least partially exposed second surface (e.g. at least in the display area 11) of the display panel 10; and an opening 31 is formed on the heat dissipation film 30.
The heat dissipation film 30 may be attached to the second surface of the display panel 10 by optical glue. The heat spreading film 30 may be formed from a combination of a foam structure layer and a metal structure (e.g., copper) layer.
The opening 31 of the heat dissipation film 30 may be an opening 31 formed before the heat dissipation film 30 is attached, or may be an opening 31 formed after the heat dissipation film 30 is attached to the display panel 10.
S50, as shown in fig. 1, the optical fingerprint layer 40 is formed on the side of the heat dissipation film 30 away from the display panel 10.
Compared with the display module in the prior art (the heat dissipation film is directly attached to the protection film without tearing off the protection film), on one hand, the display module formed in this embodiment has the advantages that the worn protection film 50 does not exist in the display module (at least does not exist in the display area 11), and the influence of the damaged protection film 50 on the performance of the display panel 10 can be avoided; on the other hand, since the protective film 50 is not provided (at least in the display region 11), the thickness of the display module can be reduced to form a thin display module.
After the optical fingerprint layer 40 is formed, the steps of binding the circuit board to the connection area 13, bending the bending area 12, and bending the connection area 13 to the second surface of the display module may be further included, which will not be described in detail herein.
The display module can be any product or component with a display function, such as electronic paper, a mobile phone, a tablet personal computer, a television, a display, a notebook computer, a digital photo frame, a navigator and the like.

a display panel having opposing first and second surfaces;
the display assembly is arranged on one side of the first surface of the display panel;
a heat dissipation film directly attached to the second surface of the display panel; the display panel is a flexible display panel; the display panel is provided with a display area, a connecting area and a bending area positioned between the display area and the connecting area;
and a protective film provided only on the second surface of the display panel of the connection region.
2. The display module of claim 1, further comprising:
the optical fingerprint layer is arranged on one side, far away from the display panel, of the heat dissipation film and used for detecting fingerprints through optical signals.
3. The display module of claim 2, wherein the heat dissipation film has an opening corresponding to the optical fingerprint layer.
4. The display module of claim 1, wherein the heat dissipation film is disposed only on the display panel in the display area.

and forming an optical fingerprint layer on one side of the heat dissipation film far away from the display panel.
