技术领域
本发明涉及建筑构造材料,具体涉及天花板组合物。
背景技术
对生产建筑材料和产品的环境影响的意识正在增长。减小不利的环境影响并构建可持续性的一种可能方式是循环材料。这类循环材料有时广义上分类为消费后循环材料和工业后循环材料。消费后循环材料尤其受诸如LEED之类的组织推崇。
吊顶中所用的天花板应该具有特定的性能特性,包括吸音能力、相对低的密度、耐燃性和抗下垂性。除了满足这些标准外,所用原料必须相对能低廉获得并容易加工。这些特性即使用复合材料也可能难以实现。而且,可得循环材料的普适性相对有限,该循环材料可以提供这些期望特性中的一种或多种,与其它可行材料相容,并且不带来不期望的特性。重要的是找到一种实现期望特性、而且与现有生产设备和工艺相容的高循环含量配方。
发明内容
本发明涉及发现由消费后循环玻璃制备的膨胀玻璃珠可以成功用在高性能浇铸型天花板的配方中。这种玻璃珠在本申请中表现出许多有利特性。
更具体地,已发现这种膨胀玻璃珠非常适合用作矿物纤维和淀粉基浇铸天花板中的填料。除了呈惰性和颜色淡之外,所述玻璃珠本身适合当前的生产工艺。已发现这些玻璃珠与浇铸型天花板生产中常用的材料和工艺相容。膨胀玻璃珠具有足够低的密度,从而它们不会不利地增加天花板的密度,并且实际上可以减小这些产品的密度。同时,所述玻璃珠充分结实,能耐受当它们和其它组分机械混合以产生最终浇铸成板的浆料时所产生的压缩力和剪切力。已出乎意料地发现,包含膨胀玻璃珠且具有可加工稠度的浆料的水含量可以比通常所需的低。该减小的水含量减少将浇铸浆料干燥成刚性板所需的能量,并且可以通过增加生产线速度来实现更高的生产率。
膨胀玻璃珠具有使其适合混入天花板中的其它物理性质。该玻璃珠颜色淡,使得它们不需要增加用在板面层或外观侧上的底漆或表面涂料的量。此外,该玻璃珠呈惰性,因此不会增加板的任何可燃性或给板带来模具损害。
本发明还包括下列项目:
1.一种浇铸型天花板,其包含含30至70%矿棉、10至40%膨胀玻璃珠、8至20%淀粉、0至15%灰泥和0至1%硼酸的混合物。
2.一种浇铸型天花板,其包含含50至55%矿棉、20至25%膨胀玻璃珠、13至15%淀粉、10至12%灰泥和0至1%硼酸的混合物。
3.根据项目2所述的浇铸型天花板,其中所述膨胀玻璃珠的颗粒尺寸为约1至约2mm,堆密度为约14lbs./ft3
4.根据项目3所述的浇铸型天花板,其中所述天花板的密度为约18至约21lbs./ft3
具体实施方式
本发明的浇铸天花板包含作为主要组分的纤维,优选矿棉和优选由谷物得到的淀粉粘结剂。这两种组分已经长期用在天花板组合物中。灰泥(stucco),即半水合硫酸钙或石膏可以任选用作补充填料,并且任选少量硼酸可以用于赋予耐燃性。
根据本发明,优选由消费后循环玻璃制备的膨胀玻璃珠用作前述主要组分和所选定任选组分的填料。相比传统配方,通常基于重量,根据本发明,膨胀玻璃珠可以替代矿物纤维。
合适类型的膨胀玻璃珠可从Poraver North America Ltd.,Ontario,Canada获得。这些膨胀玻璃珠具有部分闭合孔室结构,并且堆密度为约11至约25lbs./ft3。孔室结构充分闭合以至少部分排除水以免进入玻璃珠的内容积。基于单位体积,该水排除能力显著大于例如矿棉球。
已发现在矿物纤维/淀粉基浇铸天花板配方中混入膨胀玻璃珠减少成功制备浇铸板所必需的水量。最初,淀粉和其它添加剂与热水结合产生适度粘性的凝胶。向该凝胶中引入矿棉和玻璃珠,将它们机械混合以产生粘度比初始凝胶高得多的可浇铸浆料。当将矿物纤维引入水基凝胶中时,它吸取凝胶以产生高密度的板。通过在配方中引入膨胀玻璃珠,减少矿棉含量,从而降低混合并润湿这些组分所需的水量。这种水减少或水载量减小降低了工艺水的必需体积和蒸发凝胶和所得浆料中所用水所需的热能的量。将浆料在高粘性状态浇铸在通常衬有纸或箔的金属盘上。将这些盘转送到干燥箱内,在此浆料中的水分蒸发,使得固体形成刚性板。
膨胀玻璃珠的优选珠尺寸为约1至约2mm。该尺寸的玻璃珠充分混合在浆料中,不会突出在加工面上,并且小到足以允许板得以切割而不会过度易碎。而且,具有优选尺寸的膨胀玻璃珠的堆密度为约14lbs./ft3。该低的密度可以有效降低浇铸矿物纤维/淀粉基板的密度。例如,实施本发明的板的密度可以为约18至约21lbs./ft3,而现有技术的板的密度可以为约20至约24lbs./ft3
经膨胀的消费后循环玻璃珠颜色淡且一致,因此不需要在板上施加额外量的表面涂料或漆,以赋予其白色、高反射性的表面。

根据本发明配制的板的厚度(caliper)可以为约3/4”至7/8”。
应该显然,本公开内容用于举例,并且在不脱离本公开内容所包括的教导的合理范围下可以通过增加、修改或省略细节进行各种变化。因此除了下面权利要求必定如此限定的范围外,本发明不限于本公开内容的具体细节。

Claims (3)

1.一种浇铸型天花板,其包含含50至55%矿棉、20至25%膨胀玻璃珠、13至15%淀粉、10至12%灰泥和0至1%硼酸的混合物,并且是蒸发所述混合物的高粘性浇铸浆料的水含量的结果;所述膨胀玻璃珠由消费后循环玻璃制备并且至少部分地用于减少矿棉含量,所述水含量相对于不用膨胀玻璃珠替代矿棉时所需的水含量有所减少。
2.根据权利要求1所述的浇铸型天花板,其中所述膨胀玻璃珠的颗粒尺寸为1至2mm,堆密度为14lbs./ft3
3.根据权利要求2所述的浇铸型天花板,其中所述天花板的密度为18至21lbs./ft3
