Description

本发明是有关强化金属物品铸造冷却过程,特别是垂直连续向上铸造冷却过程的装置。为了强化冷却过程,与浇铸容器最接近的冷却器零件常装有挤压环(squeeze  ring)。
在连续垂直向上铸造中,例如芬兰专利46,693号所示,金属物品的冷却通常是使用图1所示的冷却器进行的,冷却剂由顶部,经过接近冷却器外壁的输入通道加到冷却器底部。在图1中,熔融的金属加到喷咀1上,在喷咀中,在高度2处形成一个凝固的端部,熔融金属在该处转化为固体。在冷却器3中,冷却剂由中间导管4引导,首先向下,通过输入通道流向冷却器底部,然后再向上,流向冷却器顶部,从那里流出。很显然,通过喷咀1散发的热容量是最大的,尤其是在凝固端部2处,因为金属在凝固过程中会改变状态,并且在状态改变过程中,根据温度的不同而散发出热量。
例如,当在浇铸线材时使用图1的新型冷却器时,浇铸是在很高的速度下进行的,浇铸线材温度的增加是时间的函数。例如,当以6米/分的速度浇铸铜丝时,铜丝表面温度在冷却后可能超过500℃。一般,线材温度增加如此之大会导致线材断裂,这就大大削弱了装置的使用效率。在众多的造成冷却能力减弱及结果使线材温度增高的原因中,我们可以指出,例如,熔化温度能量高,这使得冷却器的水面温度升高,结果在冷却器的冷却表面上形成一个绝热的蒸汽泡。进一步的结果是在冷却器底部的热膨胀,这使得在喷咀与冷却器之间的螺纹连接处再次产生间隙。
本发明的目的是要消除现有技术的缺点,并得到一种新的,改进的装置,它操作更可靠,连续铸造时的冷却更有效,同时浇铸速度也很高。采用本发明的一个特别有利的领域是连续向上铸造。本发明的一些全新的特点从所附的专利权利要求书中就会清楚了。
根据本发明,挤压环安装在冷却器底部。由环产生的压缩应力可防止喷咀与冷却器之间的间隙扩大,因为当冷却器受热时,冷却器底部一或者例如,在水平浇铸的情况下,冷却器的最外端-会膨胀。采用挤压环,情况也可能会相反,结果喷咀与冷却器之间的正常间隙甚至会减小,因为挤压环使冷却器的热膨胀朝着喷咀方向进行。
根据本发明,现在可以强化冷却过程,这样可防止铸造时浇铸线材或管材断裂。

图2表示装有本发明的挤压环的新型装置。正如上面所指出的那样,通过喷咀1散发的热能量在凝固端部2和冷却器底部3最高。有时很难获得满意的冷却效果,在喷咀1和冷却器3的底部5之间产生间隙,这进一步减弱了由冷却器至浇铸工件的热传递。根据本发明,利用安装在冷却器最底部5周围的挤压环6可防止此间隙的产生。挤压环6在冷却器中产生压缩应力,在环本身引起拉伸应力。挤压环借助加热置入冷却器中,即类似收缩连接(shrink  joint)。挤压环是用热膨胀系数比铜的热膨胀系数小得多的材料制成。镍铁合金就是一种这样的材料。
正如上面所指出的那样,本发明并不仅限于连续向上铸造,压缩冷却器与喷咀之间间隙的挤压环也可用于水平浇铸装置。

Claims (4)

1、一种金属物品铸造,特别是连续铸造时强化冷却过程的装置,连续浇铸机的喷咀(1)被冷却器(3)包围,其特征在于,通过安放在冷却器(3)周围的挤压环(6)把冷却器的最底端部分(5)压向喷咀(1)。
2、根据权利1的装置,其特征是,在连续向上铸造中,挤压环(6)安放在喷咀(1)与冷却器(3)的底部(5)之间。
3、根据权利要求1的装置,其特征为,在水平连续铸造中,挤压环(6)安放在喷咀(1)与冷却器(3)的周围。
4、根据权利要求1的装置,其特征在于挤压环(6)以收缩连接方式安放在冷却器的最底部(5)的周围。
