移动电话用户有特别漫游习惯的个人虚拟移动位置区(VMLA),采用了预定的小区组,该小区按照移动电话用户在那组的可能性顺序排列。

Description

定位移动台的方法
本发明涉及蜂窝电话网络系统,特别是涉及在蜂窝电话网络系统中定位系统内的每个移动电话台的方法,并且为每个移动台提供一个专用的局域。
移动电话系统依靠无线电波提供固定电线网络和移动台(MS)之间的通信。基地台(BS)是地理上固定的天线频率发射机和接收机,从而提供了网络和各个移动台间的通信。功率要求和频率可用性限制了每个基地台能够覆盖的地理面积的大小。
这样,开发出了每个都有基地台发射机和接收机的相临小区的一种系统。这些小区被串成组,由移动通信业务交换中心(MSC)所控制,小区组通常有4、7或12个小区组成,然而,也存在其它数量的小区组。在很大程序上,小区组的大小受能够提供管理寻呼功能的基地台的数量所影响。实际上,当从一个网络寻呼一个移动台时,该小区组的每个基地台同时寻呼该特别的移动台。该小区组通常被当作移动位置区(MLA)或局域(LA)。
为了记费、网络连接和寻呼的目的,每个移动台都必须是可识别的。因此,在网络中提供了登记器,作为每个移动台所需识别信息库。
有一个归属位置登记器(HLR)和与它相关的访问者位置登记器(VLR)的MSC控制每个MLA。HLR为属于那个特别小区组的移动台提供了一个登记器,并且当移动台旅行在MLA时,VLR为移动台提供了一个登记器。
还有,每个移动电台具有一个连续确定移动台是否在它的本地MLA的装置。当移动台从本地MLA进入另外一个MLA时,它必须在它实际所处的MLA的VLR中登记。作为访问者在MLA中登记的主要缺点是基地台收发信机的登记用途,而不是网络传输容量的改变。因此,使用最少的基地台数字控制信道来传输信令业务可使更宽的带宽转换为传输通信业务。
本发明改进了当移动台在移动通信区域(MLA)间移动时,登记移动台的负担,并且使系统承担更大容量的呼叫负荷。
还有,本发明提供了一种与现存蜂窝网络系统相兼容的装置,对于固定地理系统,可以提供又一种选择,用以把单个MLA的HLR分配给每个移动台的HLR。
本发明提供了一种对于特别的移动台是专用的虚拟移动位置区(VMLA)。分析移动台的过去和专业的呼叫模式,并叠加到现存蜂窝网络上,用以确定特别移动台的最优VMLA。其不具选择特别的MLA,作为特别的移动台的HLR,而是在VMLA中包括相临基地台用作移动台的实际旅行模式。
参考下面的附图能够更清楚地理解本发明,这里:

图2基于移动台的呼叫历史,为特别移动台选择的一个VMLA图。
本发明可应用在任何蜂窝网络中,在蜂窝网络中需要多个无线收发信机,以提供固定网络和移动台之间的无线通信。需要多个相临的移动位置区(MLA),覆盖大面积区域,比如一个国家或一个洲。因此,现在的蜂窝网络都包括多个相临的MLA,并适于VMLA的应用。
通常,如图1和图2,在移动位置区(MLA)2内安排多个基地台4、6、8、10、12、14和16,用以最优化频率带宽的使用和网络功率。第二网络移动局域22包括基地台24、26、28、30、32、34和36,它与移动局域2相临,用以说明常规蜂窝网络的运行和便于本发明的VMLA的描述。在移动局域2和移动局域22之间存在一分界线42。
在当前常规系统中,移动台40按照其相关的地理位置,被指定到移动局域2。因此,移动台40登记在移动局域2的HLR5内。当移动台40走出移动局域2时,移动台40自动地发信号给移动电台40进入的新局域,并且与移动台40相关的所需数据进入到移动通信局域的VLR内。比如,如果移动台40进入移动通信局域22,与移动台40相关的所需数据将登记在VLR17中。
如图2所示,基于移动台40的呼叫习惯,为移动台40创建了一个专用VMLA。正象所示那样,假设移动台40是一个汽车,它由居住在“中心城”的人所拥有和使用,他的办公室在“快乐谷”,并且他极少在家庭和办公室以外的地方走动。可以容易地为移动台40建立一个VLMA。“中心城”位于移动通信局域2和网络内而基地台16是一个网络接发信机。“快乐谷”位于移动局域22内和基地台12是网络内的一个接发信机。走动于“中心域”和“快乐谷”的移动台40所使用的道路或高速公路系统,经过移动局域2内的小区。在移动局域2内的基地台12是收发信机。这样,最适合于移动台40的VMLA包括其内有基地台16、12和34的小区。然而,由于基地台16和12在局域2且基地台34在局域22,移动台40将在两个归属位置登记器5和15登记。而不用移动台40每次穿越分界42就登记。当对移动台40有寻呼时,局域2和22的所有基地台将寻呼台40。
具体地,为了顺序地寻呼,局域2的小区4、6、8、12、14和16以及局域22的小区24、26、28、30、32、34和36被分成三组。第一组是为移动台40定义的预定的VMLA,包括小区16、12和34,且横跨局域2和22。局域2的余下小区4、6、8、10和14被定义为第二组,且局域22的剩余小区24、26、28、30、32和36被定义为第三组。
当在第一组(它是VMLA)内没有发现移动台40时,于是要进一步作出移动台40在第二组或第三组的可能性判断。基于商业考虑,假设移动台40在第二组发现的可能性高于在第三组发现的可能性。于是,根据在局域2和22的组区定位移动台40和按照定位移动台40在组顺序按最高到最低可能性的排列,结果是第一组、第二组、第三组。对于进入移动台40的入站呼叫来说,按照它们的分组和顺序在区域内顺序寻叫时,寻呼带宽就被最优化。这样,在高业务量系统中,排序延迟被最小化。通过本发明,带宽被充分利用,允许对位于局域2和22的另外小区中的移动台进行快速寻呼。

Claims (2)

1.一种操作蜂窝电话网的方法,该蜂窝网包括多个局域,每个局域包括多个基地台,并有相关的归属位置登记器,用以指示在该网域中哪个移动台登记在特别局域内,其特征在于,该方法包括:
确定移动台的呼叫习惯,
确定由移动台的呼叫习惯指示该移动台最可能用来启始和接收呼叫的基地台,
将包括由移动台的呼叫习惯指示该移动台最可能用来启动和接收呼叫的基地台的小区安排成组,称之为虚拟移动位置区,并将该虚拟移动位置区分配给移动台,其中,仅当移动台的呼叫习惯指示移动台进入一个包含新基地台的新小区时才修改该虚拟移动位置区,以及
把该移动台登记在与按其呼叫习惯将最可能使用的基地台相关的局域中的每个归属位置登记器中。
2.根据权利要求1的方法,还包括步骤:
把那些还没确定的最可能被移动台使用的在每个局域的余下的基地台分组;
确定移动台最可能在余下基地台的哪一组;以及
对每组基地台重复上述步骤,从而建立起各组的寻呼顺序,所述寻呼顺序是从最可能组到最不可能组顺序排列的。
