Abstract
本发明涉及高耐熔盐水可溶性纤维,其真空预制品在1260℃持续24小时的收缩率为≤3.5%。它可含CaO、SiO2、MgO、任选的ZrO2和任选<0.75mol%的Al2O3,总和<2mol%的杂质,其中SiO2过量(定义为上述组分以硅酸盐形式结晶后多余SiO2的量)大于21.8mol%,同时还要满足若CaO的量大于MgO和2倍ZrO2量之和,则计算的透辉石与硅灰石之比不在1.8~5.25范围内。该纤维在更高的温度下仍耐熔,并且在盐水溶液中的溶解可使其比非可溶性纤维更完全。
Description
本发明涉及可溶于盐水、非金属、非晶质、无机氧化物的耐熔纤维材料。特别是涉及以二氧化硅为主要组分的玻璃质纤维。
无机纤维材料人们已十分熟悉并被广泛地应用于各个方面(例如:用作以垫、毡或散装形式的隔音隔热材料;用作真空成形型材,真空制板或纸,以及用作绳、纱或纺织原料;建筑材料的强化纤维,机动车辆制动工具的原料)。这些应用的绝大部分都要求所使用的无机纤维材料具备抗热性能,并且能够抵制化学环境的侵蚀。
无机纤维材料可以是玻璃质或结晶质。有些无机纤维材料与呼吸道疾病有着极其密切的联系,石棉就是其中之一。
目前虽然对把一些石棉与疾病联系起来的成因机制还不清楚,但是一些研究者相信该机制与其机械性质和大小有关。临界大小的石棉在体内能够刺穿细胞,这样长期反复损伤细胞对健康势必产生不良影响,无论这一机制正确与否,法规局都表示期望对任何含有危害呼吸道健康成分的无机纤维产品加以限制,不管是否有证据支持这种限制。不幸的是,对于无机纤维的许多应用来讲,目前尚无切实可行的替代材料问世。
因此目前市场需要危害尽可能小(如果有的话)的无机纤维,并要求存在相信它们安全的客观基础。
一系列研究指出,如果生产的无机纤维在生理流体中能够充分溶解,并且在人体内的停留时间能够缩短,则对人体的损坏将不会发生或者至少可以减小。由于石棉致病的危险似乎对接触的时间长度有很大关联,因此这种观点似乎是合理的。石棉是极难溶物质。
由于细胞间流体在性质上是含盐的,因此纤维在盐水溶液中溶解度的重要性早就认识到了。如果纤维在生理盐水溶液中是可溶的,并且假定被溶解的组分是无毒的,那么这种纤维将比不可溶纤维更完全。纤维在体内停留的时间越短,它所引起的危害就越小。H.F_rster在“矿物纤维在生理溶液中的行为”(1982 WHO IARC会议论文集,哥本哈根,第2卷27-55页(1988))一文中,对商业生产的矿物纤维在生理盐水溶液中的行为进行了讨论。同时也讨论了溶解度变化范围很大的各种纤维。
国际专利申请No.WO 87/05007公开了包括氧化镁、二氧化硅、氧化钙和小于10wt%氧化铝在内的纤维在盐水溶液中是可溶的。所公开的纤维的溶解度是以浸泡5小时后盐水溶液中含有的硅的ppm量来表示的(从含有二氧化硅的纤维材料中萃取而来)。实例中显示的硅含量的最高值为67ppm。相比之下,在相同的计量体系下,F_rster文中所给出的最高水平大约为1ppm。相反地,若将国际专利申请给出的最高值转换成与F_rster文章相同的计量体系,将会得到901,500mg/kg纤维的萃取率-也就是说,比F_rster实验中的任何纤维都高出了约69倍。在F_rster实验中萃取率最高的纤维是玻璃纤维,它们的碱含量高所以熔点低。即使将诸如实验中溶液的差异和实验持续时间等因素考虑进去,这也是一项令人信服的比较好的成就。
国际专利申请No.WO 89/12032还公开了另外一些在盐水溶液可溶的纤维,并对这种纤维中可能存在的一些组分进行了讨论。这些组分的其中之一是ZrO2,并且这项专利文献还对其组成(重量百分数)为ZrO20.06-10%;SiO2 35-70%;MgO 0-50%;CaO 0-64%(重量百分比)的纤维的使用方法提出了权利要求(还有其它权利要求)。然而,实际上该专利所公开的材料中氧化锆的含量范围非常有限,表1中二氧化硅含量之下列出了这些物质的含量。所公开的含氧化锆组合物没有一种进行过收缩试验并在高温应用中使用;对这些纤维所进行的全部试验就是对火的承受力,表1表明这一试验的结果是不能完全预测的。虽然似乎与二氧化硅的含量有关,但与氧化锆含量的变化趋势却不明显。
欧洲专利申请No.0399320公开了一些玻璃纤维,他们具有高生理溶解性。
此外还有一些专利说明书是专门讲纤维的盐水溶解度的,他们是欧洲0412878和0459897。法国2662687和2662688,PCT WO 86/04807和WO 90/02713。

以前的各种技术文献中所公开的纤维的耐熔性变化很大。上面所提到的各种纤维的最大承受温度(用作耐火绝热材料)为815℃(1500°F)。在高于815℃温度条件下能够使用的盐水可溶性商业纤维有Morgan Crucible公司生产的SUPERWOOLTM纤维,其最高使用温度为1050℃,组成为SiO2 65wt%;CaO 29wt%;MgO 5wt%;Al2O3 1wt%。与此类似的还有Carborundum公司生产的INSULFRAXTM纤维,连续使用温度极限为1000℃(1832°F),熔点为1260℃(2300°F)。组成为SiO2 65wt%;CaO 31.1wt%;MgO 3.2wt%;Al2O3 0.3wt%和Fe2O3 0.3wt%。
用ZrO2作为铝硅酸盐纤维的组分以提高其耐高温性能,这已为人们所熟悉(见欧洲专利No.0144349)。然而这并不意味着这种效应可以转换成盐水可溶性纤维,上面讨论的专利申请No.WO 89/12032公开的事实将倾向于指出那是不行的。
本申请人的早期国际专利申请WO 93/15028(本申请要求从中获得优先权)公开了能在超过1000℃温度条件下使用的盐水可溶性纤维,但却没有指明在更高的温度下纤维仍能使用。申请人发现WO 93/15028中公开的一些纤维(像WO 93/15028表9中的A2-13纤维)事实上在达到1260℃甚至更高的温度时仍能使用。总的来说,申请人发现特定组成的纤维(包括含氧化锆的纤维)在温度达到或超过1260℃时仍能够使用。申请人同时还意识到在高温条件下纤维失效的原因主要在于纤维的退玻化;如果由于脱玻化造成了纤维中二氧化硅含量的不足,那么将会由于收缩率大于3.5%而不能使用。因此申请人注意了脱玻化过程中形成了什么物质。
下面给出一种盐水可溶性纤维的参考物,这被认为是一种具有特殊意义的纤维,在盐水溶液中总的溶解度大小10ppm,最好可能更大,而溶解度的测定是按照下面描述的方式进行的。
图1示出了由CaO、MgO和ZrO2所构成的一个三轴组分图解;该图省略了所有其它组分,这就使得在图中的所有点上CaO、MgO和ZrO2的总和为100%。正如下面所描述的,所有点上二氧化硅都是过量的。
对于CaO>MgO+2ZrO2的纤维来说,全部的MgO都以CaO·MgO·2SiO2的形式相键合;所有的ZrO2都以2CaO·ZrO2·4SiO2的形式相键合;而过剩的CaO则都键合为CaSiO3。这类纤维位于图1的1区,以下将其称为CaO过量纤维。
对MgO>CaO的纤维来讲,CaO全部结合为CaO·MgO·2SiO2;ZrO2全部结合为CaO2·SiO2;而过量的MgO则结合为MgO·SiO2。这些纤维位于图1的2区,以下称其为MgO过量纤维。
就图1中3区的纤维来说,其组成特点为CaO>MgO,但CaO<MgO+2ZrO2,MgO全部结合为CaO·MgO·2SiO2,余下的CaO结合为2CaO·ZrO2·4SiO2;而过量的ZrO2则形成ZrO2·SiO2。以下将这些纤维称为ZrO2过量纤维。
申请人定义了一个术语“过量SiO2”,它表示上面提到的各种组分(CaO、MgO和ZrO2)一旦结晶后所剩下的二氧化硅的量。SiO2过量的值可以通过从二氧化硅总量中减去上面提到的与其它组分CaO、MgO和ZrO2形成硅酸盐晶体所消耗的量而求得,但假定CaO,MgO和ZrO2能以前面提到的物质形式而全部结晶。在所研究的绝大部分组成中,在某种程度上都含有氧化铝,所以申请人还假定氧化铝也作为Al2O3·SiO2而结晶,在计算过量SiO2时,这部分也被减去。由于其它化学组成只以少量的形式存在,所以在计算过量SiO2时只用了前面所提到的那些组分。对其它化学组分类似的考虑也适用。申请人发现,当过量SiO2大于21.8mol%时,纤维的耐温性能可达到1260℃。
申请人发现,对于CaO过剩的组成体系来说,情况则要复杂,这是由于在两种结晶物质透辉石(CaO·MgO·SiO2)和硅灰石(CaSiO3)之间会形成共结晶,而这种共结晶物对耐高温性能会产生不良影响。因此,本发明就排除了那些所计算的透辉石与硅灰石之比落入大于E32纤维(请见下述)的至5.25的范围。
SiO2过量重要性的物理基础,可能在于它代表了在其它组分以硅酸盐物质形式结晶之后,能够保持玻璃相的二氧化硅还有多少。进一步讲,脱玻化所形成的硅酸盐物质在1260℃温度下可能会变成液体或流体,从而引起收缩。
一些潜在的易熔组分像碱金属和其它不可避免的杂质(如铁的氧化物)应保持最少。
因此,本发明提供一种无机纤维在1000℃或更高温度下,在24小时时间内作为耐熔纤维的应用,其中当该纤维的真空预制品在1260℃持续24小时之后,其收缩率仅为3.5%或更小,它包括CaO,SiO2和MgO,任选包括ZrO2,任选少于0.75mol%的Al2O3,任何不可避免杂质的总量不超过2mol%,其中SiO2过量(定义为前面所列举的组分以硅酸盐的形式结晶之后所过量的SiO2的量)大于21.8mol%,同时排除下列组成:CaO的量大于MgO和2倍ZrO2量之和,同时计算的透辉石与硅辉石之比处于大于E32纤维(请见下述)的至5.25范围。本发明还提供一种耐熔纤维,当该纤维的真空预制品在1260℃温度下保持24小时之后,其收缩率为3.5%或更小,它包含CaO,SiO2,MgO,任选加入的ZrO2,任选小于0.75mol%的Al2O3,总量小于2mol%的任何附带杂质,以及SiO2过量(定义为计算的在上述组分以硅酸盐的形式结晶之后所剩下的SiO2的量)大于21.8mol%。
申请人还发现,对于那些在1260温度下收缩率令人满意的纤维来说,它们在盐水中的溶解度似乎是随着MgO含量的增加而增大,但ZrO2和Al2O3对其溶解度却不利。因此本发明也提供了组成如前面所特指的优选的盐水可溶性纤维,在这种纤维中MgO过剩[定义为MgO-(ZrO2+Al2O3)]大于10mol%,这样的纤维的MgO+SiO2+CaO的总溶解度大于50ppm(关于测量的细节参见下文)。更可取的情况是MgO过剩大于11.2mol%,这种纤维的溶解度会达到或超过100ppm的极高水平。仅就溶解度来说,当过剩MgO过量大于15.25mol%时则更为有利;所测量的MgO过剩大于15.25mol%的纤维,其溶解度全部都超过了100ppm。
申请人对以CaO/MgO/SiO2为基础并掺有Al2O3,ZrO2和TiO2附加组分的一系列纤维的盐水溶解度和耐熔性做了研究。这些纤维是用传统方式将熔体流的熔融组分吹制而成的,但本发明并不局限于吹制纤维,同时也包括由纺丝或其它方式制成的纤维。
表2和表3给出了这些试验的结果。表2列出了在800°,1000°,1200°和1260℃时线性收缩率(并不是在每一温度对所有的样品都进行了测量);组成的重量百分比;摩尔百分比(以组分CaO,MgO,SiO2,Al2O3,ZrO2和TiO2为基础);以及SiO2过剩量(定义同前);此外对CaO过量的纤维来说,还列出了计算得到的透辉石和硅灰石的比例。表3列出了每种纤维的重量百分组成,摩尔百分组成(以组分CaO,MgO,SiO2,Al2O3,ZrO2和TiO2为基础);各种组分的溶解度,以及MgO过剩量(定义同前)。对于在1260℃温度下收缩率为3.5%或更小的每个样品,其组成都用黑体字标出。而那些收缩不能满足要求的组成体系则用斜体字母表示。表中所列出的其它的组成都落在所描述的范围之内,但对它们在高温下的收缩性能没有进行测定,这些组成在表中用一般书写方式表示。对于那些不能制成纤维或者纤维的溶解性能太差而不能测定的组成体系来说,在表中则用X's表示。
参照表2可以得出下面所描述的一种模式。
A线之上并包括A线的所有纤维的SiO2过量都小于21.8mol%,并且当在1260℃温度下持续24小时之后,全部(所测过的)预制纤维真空制品部达不到收缩率小于3.5%的收缩指标。
A线之下和B线之上并包括B线的所有纤维中TiO2的含量都大于1.25mol%,并且都达不到收缩指标。
B线之下和C线之上并包括C线的所有纤维中Al2O3的含量都大于0.75mol%,并且都达不到收缩指标的要求。
按照纤维中CaO,MgO和ZrO2的相对含量,对C线之下的纤维进行了分组(即关于它们与在图1中的位置)。
C线之下和D线之上并包括D线的所有纤维,都是MgO过量纤维(图1的2区),并分在SiO2过量这一类。
D线之下和E线之上并包括E线的所有纤维,都是ZrO2过量纤维(图1的3区),并分在SiO2过量这一类。
E线之下的所有纤维都是CaO过量纤维,并按照透辉石和硅灰石的比例进行分类。
E线之下和F线之上并包括F线的所有纤维,都是CaO过量纤维,其中透辉石与硅灰石的比率为大于5.25。
F线之下和G线之上并包括G线的所有纤维,都是CaO过量纤维,其中透辉石与硅灰石的比例在1.8~5.25之间。
G线之下的所有纤维都是CaO过量纤维,其中透辉石与硅灰石的比例小于1.8。
首先看MgO过量纤维,其绝大部分都达到了1260℃时的收缩指标(对测试过的来讲)。B7D,BZ-440C,B7C和BZ-4150C都含有较高的Fe2O3(B7D为1.1wt%,其余为0.6wt%)。
D3和D8中TiO2的含量比较高(分别为0.71mol%和0.74mol%),可能是由于这个原因,以及其它杂质的存在,导致收缩率差。应当注意到,D9中TiO2的含量为O.65mol%,其收缩率也是令人满意的。
BZ-440A,B7A,BZ-4150A和BZ-560B中存在的Na2O的含量在0.3-1.0wt%之间内变化,这可能对其收缩率差也起了一定的作用。
BZ-4150中Al2O3的含量为0.64mol%,并且未能通过收缩指标的检验。这种情况与BZ-4150形成对比,其组成虽然类似,但Al2O3的含量只有0.06mol%,因而能够通过收缩指标检验。进一步比较,BZ-560E的Al2O3含量为0.62mol%,并且也达到了收缩指标;在它的成分中ZrO2的含量却比BZ-4150B高。因此申请人相信ZrO2的存在能够提高纤维对杂质水平的忍耐力,相比之下其它组分的这种能力则较差。
在1260℃温度下D3的收缩率为3.8%,刚刚通不过指标,B19的收缩率只有3.6%,事实上这两者可能都是测量错误。
接下来再看ZrO2过量纤维,除了BZ-407,BZ-429和BZ-430之外,其余的全部都达到了1260℃(实验温度)的收缩指标。这些结果或许表明,一些次要的杂质(表2中用“其它”表示)可能也有影响,因为BZ-429和BZ-430的杂质含量都比较高(分别为1.1和0.9wt%),通过分析发现其中分别包含了0.4和0.3wt%的Na2O。BZ-430只差一点没能达到收缩指标(收缩率为3.7%),这可能是由于分析误差所引起的。
现在转向CaO过量纤维,模式清楚但不确切。透辉石与硅灰石比例在5.25~1.8之间的纤维没能达到收缩指标。透辉石与硅灰石的比值在此范围之外的那些纤维,倾向于合格但模式是不确切的,没能满足收缩指标是下面一些纤维。
在CaO过量的纤维中,透辉石与硅灰石的比值超过5.25而没能通过收缩指标的包括BZ-418,和BZ-29,他们的收缩率是足够低的,可能是实验误差产生了上述结果,实际这些纤维的收缩率可能是令人满意的。
BZ-421,B13,BZ-422,BZ-417和BZ-416也都没有通过,尽管最初的指示表明这可能与CaO的含量有点关系,但现在看来这似乎是错误的。没能达到收缩指标可能是由于易熔组分的存在或其它因素所引起的。BZ-29和BZ-421失败的可能原因或许是由于他们的Al2O3含量高(分别为0.55和0.51mol%),而Al2O3可能是单独起作用或者与其它杂质一起发生影响。
对于透辉石与硅灰石比例小于1.8的CaO过量纤维来说,被证明是失败的纤维只有E24一种,尽管它通过了1260℃的实验,但未能通过1200℃的试验。这一结果可能是与实验误差,易熔组分,或其它因素有关。
表3给出了列在表2中的纤维的溶解度,但靠近MgO过量一栏。尽管不确切,但还是能够看出存在着一种总溶解随MgO过量变化的趋势。
无论如何该趋势似乎是CaO过量纤维性能差(或许是由于CaSiO3形成的缘故,而在MgO过量或ZrO2过量纤维中CaSiO3不能形成),而MgO过量与ZrO2过量纤维表现比较好。取极端情况,这将表明高MgO、低CaO、低ZrO2、低Al2O3的纤维将具有高溶解度和低收缩性。然而申请人的经验是,这样的纤维生产是很困难的(见组成A2-33,A2-32,A2-28)。同样地,SiO2含量太高的纤维生产也很困难或者是不可能的。要制定一个确切的界线很困难,本发明只包括能够满足上述收缩要求的那些纤维。
申请人对一些纤维在更高的温度下进行了试验。
对BZ-400,BZ-440,BZ-48和BZ-54纤维在1350℃下进行了试验,结果全不合格,收缩率都超过20%。
对BZ-400,BZ-36,BZ-46和BZ-41号纤维在1300℃条件进行了试验,其收缩率分别为6.2%,17.9%,19.6%和3.1%。BZ-61位于MgO过量区,申请人推测(由于在此区内2CaO·ZrO2·4SiO2不能形成),正是这一组分导致了在1300℃的失败。
纤维的收缩性对温度的依赖性是如此强烈,(1260℃~1300℃和1300℃~1350℃这样窄的温度范围纤维就达不到指标),这一事实为了解实验误差是如何产生的提供了一条线索。在一典型的实验炉中,名义温度为1260℃,但由于空间(炉中从前至后或中央至炉壁的位置不同)和时间(炉温控制器的开启或停止炉子的电流)的变化,实际温度很容易在1250℃~1270℃范围内浮动。20℃的温度差就可以轻易地将一个合格样品变为收缩率大于3.5%的不合格样品。正如前面所指出的,这种现象可以对B19,D3,BZ-430,BZ-418和BZ-29样品略高于3.5%的收缩率做出解释。
在收缩率试验过程中,还对某些样品做了进一步的检查,以确定它们是否会与试验中放置样品的陶瓷板(氧化铝或富铝红柱石板)发生可逆反应。结果发现,透辉石与硅灰石比例小于1.8的CaO过量纤维能与富铝红柱石板发生格外严重的反应;更为甚者,由于针状晶体的生长,纤维的强度也会降低。
下面对测定收缩率和溶解度所使用的方法进行详细描述。
收缩率的测定是按推荐的ISO标准ISO/TC33/SCI/N220(相当于英国标准BS 1920,第六部分,1986),为了说明小样品的大小,对该方法做了一些修正。概括起来,该方法包括了真空铸模的制备,将75g纤维放入500cm3的0.2%淀粉溶液中,然后注入120×65mm的模具中。将铂针(直径大约为0.1~0.3mm)按100×45mm间距放置在四个角上,其最大长度(L1和L2)和对角线(L3和L4)是用移动显微镜测量的,精度为±5μm。将样品放置在炉中并开始升温,在低于实验温度50度以下时,升温速率为400℃/小时,剩下的最后50℃则按120℃/小时的速率升温,直到试验温度,并保持24小时。所给出的收缩值是4次测量的平均值。
应当指出,尽管这是一种测定纤维收缩率的标准方法,但是它也具有内在的变异性,因为预制纤维的最后密度会随着铸造条件的变化而改变。此外还应当指出,用同样纤维制成的纤维毡的收缩性比预制纤维的要大。因此,本说明书所提及的3.5%的收缩率可能说明在制成的纤维毡中偏高的收缩率。
申请人注意了在无机氧化物耐熔纤维中,可能会出现的各种杂质(例如,碱金属氧化物和铁的氧化物),发现所能承受的杂质的含量会随纤维主要组分的比例而变化。例如,ZrO2含量高的纤维要比ZrO2含量低的纤维承受更多的Na2O或Fe2O3。因此,申请人建议各种附带杂质的最大含量为2mol%,然而正如上面所讲,能够承受的最大含量也会改变的。
溶解度的测定方法如下。
先将纤维切碎-取2.5g纤维(用手捏开),用250cm3蒸馏水在Monlinex家用食物搅拌器中将纤维液化。然后将悬浮相转移到500cm3塑料烧杯中并澄清,之后将上面的清液尽可能地倒出,剩下的液体可用炉子在110℃温度干燥掉。
溶解度测试装置包括一个震动搅拌水浴,试验溶液的组成如下:

上述物质用蒸馏水稀释到1升,制成类生理盐水。
称取0.500g±0.0003g的碎纤维放入塑料离心管中,再加入25cm3的类生理盐水。将纤维和盐水充分摇晃,放入震动搅拌水浴保持在体温水平(37℃±1℃)。搅拌器的速度设在20转/分钟。
一段时间(通常为5小时或24小时)之后,将离心管从水浴中取出并离心,离心速度为4500转/分钟,时间大约5分钟。然后用注射器和皮下注射针头将上层清液抽走。接下来将针头从注射器上拔下,空气由注射器排出,液体通过过滤器(0.45μm硝酸纤维素滤膜[Whatman Labsales有限公司生产的WCN型]进入一个干净的塑料瓶。然后用Thermo Jarrell Ash Smith-Hiefje II型原子吸收光谱仪对液体进行分析。
分析中使用一氧化氮和乙炔火焰,其操作条件如下:

测定上述元素所采用的步骤和标准陈述如下。
SiO2的浓度最高为250ppm(1ppm为1mg/升)时,不用稀释即可分析。高于此浓度则应进行适当的稀释。在最后的稀释溶液中加入0.1%的KCl(0.1g/1OOcm3),以防离子干扰。注意,如果使用玻璃装置,有必要马上分析。
用1000ppm的纯二氧化硅(99.999%)储存溶液(与Na2CO3一起在铂坩埚中于1200℃熔炼20分钟(0.2500g SiO2/2gNa2CO3),然后用稀盐酸(4摩尔)溶解在塑料容量瓶中,加蒸馏水至250cm3)制成下列标准:

在稀释到1OOcm3之前,每个标准都加入0.1%的KCl。
铝用不着稀释,可以从样品直接测定。可以使用的Al标准分别为1.0,5.0和10.Oppm。为了刻度方便,将读数乘以1.8895,把Al转换成Al2O3。
将购买的标准Al原子吸收溶液(如BDH 1000ppm Al)用精确移液管稀释到预定浓度,加入0.1%的KCl,以防离子干扰。
钙测定之前可能会要求稀释(即10倍和20倍稀释)。稀释液中必须含有0.1%的KCl。
用蒸馏水和精确移液管将标准钙的原子吸收溶液(如BDH 1000ppmCa)稀释制成0.5,4.0,和10.0ppm Ca的标准。为防止离子干扰同样也要加入0.1%的KCl。为了将获得的读数由Ca转换成CaO,要乘上一个1.4的系数。
镁在测定之前也要对样品进行稀释(10倍和20倍)。在每份稀释液中加入O.1%的KCl。为将Mg转换成MgO,读数须乘上1.658。
用蒸馏水和精确移液管将Mg的标准原子吸收溶液(如BDH 1000ppmMg)稀释,配成O.5,1.0和10.0ppm Mg的标准。加入0.1%的KCl,以防离子干扰。
所有的储存溶液都储存在塑料瓶中。
前面讨论了预制纤维连续24小时置于1260℃时的抗收缩性能。这代表了纤维的最高使用温度。实践中纤维都被标明最大的连续使用温度和更高的接触温度。工业上选择一种在指定温度使用的纤维时,通常是选取具有比正常要求的使用温度更高的连续使用温度的纤维。也就是说温度的偶然增加不会损坏纤维。通常都给有100~150℃的余地。因此本发明将申请纤维的使用扩展到更高的温度(即在那些温度下纤维的耐熔性至关重要)而不是仅仅在1260°温度下使用。
选择纤维时一定会遇到纤维的耐熔性与纤维溶解度的平衡问题。例如,申请人发现,可溶性最好的纤维或许是B7(总溶解度大于100PPm),而在1260℃的收缩率为2.7%。相比之下,耐熔性最好的纤维或许是BZ-560,在1260℃温度下收缩率仅为2.1%,但是总的溶解度却只有27ppm。尽管有些其它的纤维收缩率也比较小,但这种纤维还具有一种特性,即在烧至1260℃时在很大程度能够保持它的弹性-许多纤维在灼烧之后由于结晶和烧结而变脆。看起来提高ZrO2的含量虽然有助于克服这一弱点(BZ-560中ZrO2的含量为7.64mol%),但同时也降低了纤维的溶解度。
由上所述,很显然最好使纤维中杂质的含量保持尽可能低。申请人推测由于各种结晶物质从纤维中结晶,一些杂质会向颗粒界线处迁移并在那里集中。这样一来,少量的杂质可能会产生很大的影响。

Claims (21)
1.一种耐熔纤维,当该纤维的真空预制品在1260℃温度下保持24小时之后,其收缩率为3.5%或更小,它包含CaO,SiO2,MgO,任选加入的ZrO2,任选小于0.75mol%的Al2O3,总量小于2mol%的任何附带杂质,其中CaO的量小于MgO和2倍ZrO2量之和,以及以上述各种组分以硅酸盐形式结晶之后所剩下的SiO2的量为定义的SiO2过量大于21.8mol%。
