参看图1,根据本发明的排气组件10包括具有钯基三元催化剂14的密耦催化剂12。钯基三元催化剂14包括用来将一氧化氮(NO)转化为二氧化氮(NO2)的钯部分16。排气组件10还包括主动HC-NOx吸附器组件18。吸附器组件18包括氮氧化物(NOx)吸附器20、烃(HC)吸附器22和三元催化剂24。NOx吸附器20和HC吸附器22均在形状上为圆柱形。应当注意到,图1为吸附器20、22的剖视图。吸附器组件18还包括控制进入吸附器组件18的空气流的文丘里管26和旁路阀28。文丘里管26为圆柱形管,其连接到密耦催化剂12下游的吸附器组件18的入口。文丘里管26将空气流导向至吸附器组件18的中央。旁路阀28为定位在HC吸附器22和NOx吸附器20上游的阀。旁路阀28关闭以迫使空气流通过吸附器20、22和打开以允许空气流绕过吸附器20、22通过圆柱形吸附器中央的开口29。当完全关闭时,旁路阀必须具有小于预定泄漏阈值(仅仅是举例,5%)的泄漏率。发动机氧传感器30和催化剂后氧传感器32感测流过排气组件10的排气的空燃比。温度传感器34感测离开三元催化剂24的排气的温度。空气泵36可用来迫使排气通过排气组件10。然而,应当理解,排气组件10可以在没有空气泵36的辅助的情况下操作。
排气组件10连接到发动机38并接收燃烧产生的排气。控制模块40接收来自密耦催化剂12、发动机氧传感器30、催化剂后氧传感器32、温度传感器34和发动机38中的每一个的信号并发送信号到吸附器组件18、空气泵36和发动机38。例如,控制模块40发送信号到吸附器组件18以打开和关闭旁路阀28。
钯基三元催化剂14在发动机38的冷起动期间操作。钯基三元催化剂14的钯部分16包含与NO结合形成NO2的催化剂(仅仅是举例,钙钛矿或铂)。NO2储存在NOx吸附器20中。NOx吸附器20和HC吸附器22储存NO2和HC以用于单独释放到排气中。因此,HC吸附器22位于NOx吸附器20的下游。HC在吹扫NO2之前被吹扫到排气流中。如果在NOx吸附器20中存在任何HC,那么NO2将转化回NO。
文丘里管26位于吸附器组件18的入口处并且将排气流导向至吸附器组件18的中央。当旁路阀28打开时,排气将流过圆柱形NOx吸附器20和HC吸附器22中的开口29。排气穿过三元催化剂24并离开排气组件10。当旁路阀28关闭时,排气将流过NOx吸附器20和HC吸附器22。
现在参看图2,控制模块40包括催化剂起燃控制模块42、NOx转化控制模块44和旁路阀控制模块46。催化剂起燃控制模块42接收指示发动机38的状况的发动机信号48(仅仅是举例,发动机冷却剂温度、发动机运行时间和/或发动机速度)并确定发动机38是否正在催化剂起燃模式下运行。例如,如果发动机运行计时器小于预定时间阈值(仅仅是举例,80秒)且冷却剂温度小于预定冷却剂温度阈值(仅仅是举例,70°C),则发动机正在催化剂起燃模式下运行。催化剂起燃控制模块42发送指示发动机38的状况的信号到NOx转化控制模块44和旁路阀控制模块46。此外,催化剂起燃控制模块42在发动机38中实现催化剂起燃策略以满足联邦排放要求。例如,催化剂起燃策略在发动机处于催化剂起燃模式时进行并可包括:启用空气泵36;延迟火花正时以产生热排气;以及高发动机怠速速度以增加到吸附器组件18的排气流量。
NOx转化控制模块44接收来自催化剂起燃控制模块42的信号并确定催化剂(例如,钙钛矿或铂)是否正在钯基三元催化剂14中将NO转化为NO2。NO2随后储存在NOx吸附器20中。NOx转化控制模块44发送信号到旁路阀控制模块46,该信号指示密耦催化剂12是否为活性的。如果NO在钯基三元催化剂14中正被主动地转化为NO2,则密耦催化剂12为活性的。
旁路阀控制模块46接收来自催化剂起燃控制模块42和NOx转化控制模块44的信号指示发动机处于催化剂起燃模式以及密耦催化剂正在主动地将NO转化为NO2。旁路阀控制模块46还接收来自催化剂后氧传感器32和温度传感器34的信号。旁路阀控制模块46确定三元催化剂的温度是否大于预定温度阈值(仅仅是举例,350°C)以及来自催化剂后氧传感器32的信号是否指示排气为富的。当空燃比小于化学计量值(排气中存在较大量的燃料)时,排气为富的;并且当空燃比大于化学计量值(排气中存在较少的燃料)时,排气为贫的。当来自催化剂后氧传感器32的信号大于预定电压阈值(仅仅是举例,500毫伏(mV))时,旁路阀控制模块46将指示排气为富的。
旁路阀控制模块46打开和关闭旁路阀28。关闭的旁路阀28阻断排气穿过吸附器组件18的中央并且迫使排气穿过NOx吸附器20和HC吸附器22。打开的旁路阀28允许排气流过吸附器组件18的中央。催化剂控制模块46关闭旁路阀28以便迫使HC在HC吸附器22中和NO2在NOx吸附器20中的聚集或者吹扫NOx吸附器中此前聚集的NO2。当发动机不在催化剂起燃模式时,催化剂控制模块46打开旁路阀28以从HC吸附器中吹扫HC。
参看图3,根据本发明的方法110始于112并且确定发动机38是否处于冷起动模式。在112中,方法110确定发动机是否正在催化剂起燃模式下操作。如果否,则发动机38不处于冷起动模式并且方法110结束。如果是,则发动机38处于冷起动模式并且在114中启动催化剂预热策略。催化剂预热策略可包括启用空气泵36以迫使排气通过排气组件10。
在116中,NO在钯基三元催化剂中被转化为NO2。在118中,旁路阀28关闭,迫使排气穿过NOx吸附器20和HC吸附器22。在120中,方法110确定密耦催化剂12是否为活性的。如果催化剂(仅仅是举例,钙钛矿或铂)正在钯基三元催化剂14中主动地将NO转化为NO2,则密耦催化剂12为活性的。如果否,则方法110返回114并启动催化剂预热策略。如果是,则在122中,旁路阀28打开并且将HC从HC吸附器22缓慢地吹扫出。
在124中,方法110评价HC是否已彻底地从HC吸附器22吹扫出。如果否,则方法110返回122并打开旁路阀28以缓慢地吹扫HC。如果是,则方法110进行到126并评价三元催化剂24的温度是否大于预定温度阈值以及催化剂后氧传感器32是否大于预定电压阈值。如果否,则在126中,方法110继续读取三元催化剂24的温度和来自催化剂后氧传感器32的读数,直到读数满足要求。如果是,则在128中,旁路阀28关闭以迫使排气通过NOx吸附器20并将NO2从NOx吸附器20吹扫出。
在130中,方法110评价NO2是否已彻底从NOx吸附器20吹扫出。如果NOx吸附器20中的二氧化氮的量低于预定二氧化氮阈值(仅仅是举例,10%),则吹扫完成。如果否,则方法110返回126以评价三元催化剂24的温度和来自催化剂后氧传感器32的读数。如果是,则在132中,旁路阀28打开以允许排气流过催化剂18的中央。方法110接着结束。
在方法110结束之后,排气组件10恢复正常操作状态。方法110的结束指示排气组件10不再在冷起动模式下操作。例如,旁路阀28在发动机运行状态的剩余时间内保持在打开位置。旁路阀28可以仅在冷起动程序期间关闭以迫使排气通过NOx吸附器20和HC吸附器22。
本发明的广义教导可以以各种形式实施。因此,虽然本发明包括具体示例,但本发明的真正范围不应局限于此,因为在研究附图、说明书和随附权利要求书的基础上其它修改对于技术人员将变得显而易见。

Claims (18)

1.一种旁路HC-NOx吸附器系统,包括:
NOx转化控制模块,其产生指示密耦催化剂是否是活性的信号;以及
旁路阀控制模块,其:
响应于所述信号,打开位于主动HC-NOx吸附器组件中的旁路阀以从HC吸附器吹扫烃,其中,所述旁路阀位于所述HC吸附器和NOx吸附器的上游,且其中所述HC吸附器位于所述NOx吸附器的下游;
确定三元催化剂的温度;以及
在所述三元催化剂的温度大于预定温度阈值时,关闭所述旁路阀以从所述NOx吸附器吹扫二氧化氮。
2.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中,二氧化氮聚集在所述NOx吸附器中并且烃聚集在所述HC吸附器中。
3.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中,如果所述密耦催化剂为活性的,则所述旁路阀控制模块吹扫所述HC吸附器。
4.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中,如果催化剂后氧传感器读数大于预定阈值,则所述旁路阀控制模块吹扫所述NOx吸附器。
5.根据权利要求1所述的系统,还包括文丘里管,在所述旁路阀打开时,所述文丘里管将排气导向至所述HC吸附器。
6.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中,在所述旁路阀关闭时,排气被迫通过所述NOx吸附器和所述HC吸附器。
7.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中,在所述NOx吸附器的吹扫完成时,所述旁路阀控制模块打开所述旁路阀,其中,如果所述NOx吸附器中的二氧化氮的量低于预定二氧化氮阈值,则所述吹扫完成。
8.根据权利要求1所述的系统,还包括催化剂起燃控制模块,在发动机处于催化剂起燃模式时,所述催化剂起燃控制模块启动催化剂预热策略。
9.根据权利要求8所述的系统,其中,在所述发动机处于所述催化剂起燃模式时,所述催化剂起燃控制模块启动空气泵。
10.一种旁路HC-NOx吸附器系统的控制方法,包括:
打开位于主动HC-NOx吸附器组件中的旁路阀以将烃吹扫离开HC吸附器,其中,所述旁路阀位于所述HC吸附器和NOx吸附器的上游,且其中所述HC吸附器位于所述NOx吸附器的下游;
确定三元催化剂的温度;以及
在所述三元催化剂的温度大于预定温度阈值时,关闭所述旁路阀以将二氧化氮吹扫离开所述NOx吸附器。
11.根据权利要求10所述的方法,其中,二氧化氮聚集在所述NOx吸附器中并且烃聚集在所述HC吸附器中。
12.根据权利要求10所述的方法,其中,在密耦催化剂为活性的时,所述HC吸附器被吹扫。
13.根据权利要求10所述的方法,其中,在催化剂后氧传感器读数大于预定阈值时,所述NOx吸附器被吹扫。
14.根据权利要求10所述的方法,还包括在所述旁路阀打开时使用文丘里管将排气导向至所述HC吸附器。
15.根据权利要求10所述的方法,还包括在所述旁路阀关闭时迫使排气通过所述NOx吸附器和所述HC吸附器。
16.根据权利要求10所述的方法,还包括在所述NOx吸附器的吹扫完成时打开旁路阀,其中,如果所述NOx吸附器中的二氧化氮的量低于预定二氧化氮阈值,则所述吹扫完成。
17.根据权利要求10所述的方法,还包括在发动机处于催化剂起燃模式时启动催化剂预热策略。
18.根据权利要求17所述的方法,还包括在所述发动机处于催化剂起燃模式时启动空气泵。
