泡罩包装容器和方法
技术领域
本发明涉及产品包装。更具体地,本发明涉及一种改进的泡罩包装容器,该泡罩包装容器由与匹配元件连结的纸板托盘构成。
技术背景
目前商业上使用各种包装容器和方法。例如,已知使用“蛤壳式”包装和“泡罩”包装,以包封各种产品并携带或包含相关产品信息。泡罩包装一般包括附连于大体平坦的纸衬或纸卡的、透明的凹入塑料外壳或“泡罩”。“泡罩”构成用于保持产品的凹入体积,并通常具有完全密封到纸衬并向泡罩卡提供刚度的周向边缘或凸缘。限定包装好的产品的泡罩从平坦的纸板表面鼓起。为了打开包装,购买者破坏泡罩与纸衬之间的密封或在纸衬内或在塑料泡罩内形成开口。在泡罩由透明塑料制成的情况下,所包封的产品大部分是可见的,并且由纸和其它材料制成的插入物可放置于包装内,以描述或标记货物或提供说明。纸衬还用作图案和/或打印的产品信息的基底。
蛤壳式包装由两个凹入的塑料外壳或半件构成,它们通常以某种铰接的形式连结。这种包装可以某种方式打开和再闭合,尽管某种类型的密封可用于防止在购买之前打开包装或者用于提供擅动过的证据。还可有“永久”密封的蛤壳式包装。这一般由两个透明塑料“起泡”外壳构成,外壳可在铰接边缘处连结或完全分离。在插入产品之后,两个外壳通过用于加热或焊接的各种手段而于匹配边缘处密封在一起,各种手段诸如是射频、声振动或电阻。为了触及产品,永久密封的包装一般必须在半件中的一个或两个内切开或断开。在非永久密封的蛤壳式包装内,使用者可通过破坏纸或其它密封带或者通过将包装边缘处的锁定结构分开并铰转打开蛤壳的两个半件来触及产品。
泡罩和蛤壳式包装变得流行,部分是由于它们使产品可见并还因为它们有助于防止产品被盗窃和擅动。小型高价值物件经常是入店行窃的目标,因为它们容易装在口袋里。将小型产品放置于对于装入口袋来说太大的泡罩包装内有助于防止盗窃。容易打开的包装内的小型高价值物品也易于被擅动或改换。良好密封的泡罩包装也可阻止这种行为或至少提供擅动过的证据。
然而,存在与传统泡罩包装的使用相关的若干缺点。透明的塑料隔室允许观察到产品,但由于其附连于卡纸板,所以一般仅允许通过从孔或槽口悬下来展示;包装好的产品通常无法自行稳定地立起来以进行产品展示。由于塑料泡罩限定了包含产品体积的大部分,这种塑料材料可被视为没有纸板包装那么有利于生态。此外,平坦的纸衬在很大程度上将这种容器内的可能的几何构造限制于塑料泡罩的形状,并且仅当产品具有至少一个主平坦表面时,包装才有效地使用包装体积。这会限制可放置于这种容器内的产品尺寸或增大包含较大产品所需的塑料量。此外,由于纸板总是平坦的,塑料泡罩是使包装适应于不平坦的产品形状的唯一机会;由此,对于不同的产品尺寸和形状会需要新的热成形模具。
蛤壳式包装也具有缺点。用于放置插入物并用于将蛤壳密封在一起的过程一般是昂贵又耗时的。此外,这种密封的全塑料蛤壳也比其它种类的包装更难以由消费者打开(在购买之后)。这种塑料包装通常是硬的,由此采用刀片或剪刀通过刺穿塑料泡罩来打开包装会回弹或从包装滑下并切到或以其它方式伤害到消费者。在切开时,塑料外壳通常具有尖锐的边缘,这会对消费者造成风险。此外,塑料外壳经常不易于再循环并可视为没有纸板包装那么环境友好。
因为采用平坦卡纸板的泡罩包装非常流行,所以有用于部件馈送、加载、组装和密封这种包装的设备的较大安装基座。这种设备中的多数具有多个工位,可在这些工位安装专用于包装的工具,以执行引入包装部件、加载产品和实现密封的步骤。有益的是扩大包装的范围,借助最小的工具改动,可通过这种机器来操纵包装。
需要改进的泡罩包装。较佳地,可在现有的泡罩包装设备上进行装填和密封,而不改变设备或简单地改变标准工具。
发明内容
相应地,本发明的目的是提供一种改进的泡罩包装容器和方法。在文中所述的一个实施例中,容器包括塑料泡罩,该塑料泡罩具有第一平坦周向边缘和从周向边缘的平面延伸的成形的第一开口体积;纸板托盘,该纸板托盘具有第二平坦周向边缘,纸板托盘具有在折叠线处连接的多个板并形成第二开口体积;以及用于连结塑料泡罩的第一平坦周向边缘与纸板托盘的第二平坦周向边缘的装置,因而,第一体积和第二体积形成组合的容器体积。替代的实施例可具有周向边缘设置在多于一个平面上的构造。

具体实施方式
综述。现参见附图并且特别是图1H,示出泡罩包装容器的一个实施例。泡罩包装容器由折叠过的纸板托盘100a构成,该纸板托盘限定与成形的透明塑料“泡罩”150连结的开口的凹入体积,该泡罩也限定开口的凹入体积,从而一起限定组合的容器体积。纸板托盘100a沿其周缘具有平坦的周向凸缘。在所示实施例中,周缘包括矩形的四条边(参见图1B)。透明的“泡罩”(或起泡)150沿其周缘具有平坦的周向凸缘,在此实施例中是矩形的具有倒圆角的四条边(参见图1F)。两个凹入体积中的每个延伸到其相关的周向边缘的平面之外并与另一体积呈匹配关系,以形成组合的容器体积,在对应的泡罩和托盘凸缘连结和局部或完全密封之前,产品(例如,图1H中所示的大体圆柱形的物件180)可插入该容器体积内。产品可以是家用品或健康和美容产品、电子或其它器件或者较宽范围的产品中的任一种,对于这些产品期望的是购买者在购买时能够看到这些产品的全部或大部分,并且期望这些产品有密封的包装。容器包括用于使塑料泡罩的平坦周向边缘和纸板托盘的平坦周向边缘连结以使第一和第二体积形成组合的容器体积的装置。用于连结的装置可包括各种热激活的密封材料(通过与被加热的板接触或直接射频辐射或其它已知的加热手段来激活),但还可包括用粘结剂、胶水和用于射频或超声波焊接或以其它方式连结两表面的各种手段所形成的结合。
纸板托盘。本发明的包装设计借助于成形的塑料泡罩来对用平卡纸板制成的传统泡罩包装增加灵活性,该塑料泡罩提供用于包封产品的第一开口体积。在此,卡纸板由纸板托盘代替,从而提供增加塑料泡罩的第一体积或与塑料泡罩的第一体积协作的第二凹入体积。包装还能在与用平卡纸板制成的传统泡罩包装一样的设备(工具进行微小改变)上进行组装。纸板托盘可由平坯件形成凹入形状。与在大多数泡罩包装中使用的传统卡纸板不同,托盘不仅仅是平表面,而是设计成具有开口的体积;由此,它类似于传统泡罩包装的塑料泡罩的开口体积,并可提供由被包装的产品所占据的体积的相当一部分。

本发明的一些实施例的一个特征是如图1B-1D中所示,成形的纸板托盘100a具有托盘深度从端板104到端板108变化的大体凹入形状。这种形状提供相对于现有的包装容器的各种改进,这些改进包括但不限于增大的内部体积、用于为了后续使用而将产品密封在内部的用途的改进的储存特征,以及为了货运而对多个包装的改进的搬运。在图1A-1D中所示的特定实施例中,托盘100a在一端比在另一端深,这是因为翼片104比翼片108长。如图1C中的侧视图可见,这使托盘100a为楔形。
在另一实施例中,纸板托盘在所有位点处的深度基本相同。如图7A中可见,示出具有大体平坦底面702的托盘坯件700,其中,侧板706的宽度沿底板702的长度恒定,且端板704、708的宽度是相等的。如图7B中可见,当折叠成翼片714和710用于连结角部时,获得具有平坦底部和恒定深度构造的成形托盘。翼片712、718、718和720形成所得托盘的矩形周向边缘。图7C-7E示出由图7A中所示的坯件完全组装而成的纸托盘的实施例的俯视图、端视图和立体图。
塑料泡罩。图1E-1G示出示例性的成形塑料显示泡罩150。泡罩150可以热成形并可较佳地由任何已知的塑料或类似塑料的材料生产而成,这些材料具有合适的耐久性、可成形性和用于期望应用场合的其它质量。例如,合适材料是聚氯乙烯、聚三氟氯乙烯、聚丙烯、聚乙烯或其它循环烯烃共聚物。本领域技术人员已知其它合适的塑料或类似塑料的材料。泡罩150可通过在受热和受压的情况下将塑料置于成形模具(未示出)内来以已知的方式生产。模具可致使塑料泡罩极为近似于待包装的产品的外部形状。热成形的泡罩150设计包含一般设置在泡罩150的周界上的周向(环绕的)凸缘182。凸缘182可成形为对应于纸托盘100a(图1B-1D)的凸缘,凸缘182在产品包装过程中连结并密封到纸托盘100a的凸缘。
尽管图1E-1G的泡罩限定呈大体半圆柱形的开口体积,但应理解到此体积可以是任何热成形的形状。例如,它可以是矩形盒、部分圆锥形体积、顶部为简单或复杂的几何形状的盒,以紧密地符合将包含在包装内的不规则形状产品的某些表面,只要凸缘182允许与对应托盘100a的(由边缘凸缘112、118、118、120构成的)凸缘匹配并与其密封即可。一般来说,塑料泡罩150的形状和尺寸设计为与上述纸托盘以及与其连结的纸托盘的凹入体积互补。当它不连结到平坦纸卡时,塑料泡罩不再有提供被包装的物体的全部体积的负担。
参见图1H,一些实施例中的塑料泡罩150的一个功能是使包含的物件180在包装内保持在位。这通过使泡罩150的至少外部具有与包装的物件的外表面特征匹配的形状来实现。例如,图1H中的外部与圆柱形的产品表面匹配。通过使塑料泡罩热成形有对应于不规则突出构件的位置的凸起(除了规则凹腔之外)来适应对具有向外突出的不规则构件的物件的包装。同样,对于具有突入部的被包含产品,塑料泡罩可成形为符合该突入部。
完成的包装。一旦已生产出图1B-1D的纸托盘100a和图1E-1G的热成形塑料泡罩150,这些部件可如图1H中那样装填有产品并密封在一起。这种密封可在形成纸托盘100a的同一机器内进行,或者密封可在专门适于部件馈送、装填和密封过程的单独机器内进行。这种机器提供装配好的纸托盘(通常以嵌套堆叠的方式)并提供具有与纸托盘的那些凸缘匹配的凸缘的塑料泡罩。当纸托盘的凸缘已涂敷有热封材料时,产品一插入且匹配的周向凸缘一对准,匹配凸缘就可以进行连结。机器可将适当水平的热量施加到纸托盘100a的凸缘,从而激活热封涂层,以形成用于连结两部件的结合。然后,压力可施加成使纸托盘100a和热成形的塑料泡罩150的凸缘连结。合适的热量和压力大小将由几个变量来决定,这些变量主要是包括热封涂层和/或粘结剂的类型、包装的尺寸和期望的结合与密封的强度。
图2A-2D示出适于保持非圆柱形产品的容器的另一实施例。如图2A中可见,塑料泡罩250具有适于符合大体楔形产品(未示出)的第一开口体积270和周向凸缘282。对应的纸板楔形托盘200深度变化,并具有周向凸缘212;即,楔形托盘的第二开口体积230与第一开口体积270互补。两个体积230、270形成组合的体积,该组合的体积适应待包含的产品的尺寸和特定形状(未在图2A-2D示出)。
关于纸托盘构造成楔形的实施例,应理解到这种设计的一个特定优点是得到具有用于使包装立起的稳定基座的包装。如图3中可见,产品280可放置于与塑料泡罩250连结的楔形纸托盘200内,该塑料泡罩具有由其最外侧表面260限定的、与产品互补的形状。如图3中可见,所得的容器具有位于第一基座边缘292处的第一支承件以及位于第二基座边缘284处的第二支承件,纸托盘200和塑料泡罩250的凸缘在第一基座边缘处接触,第二支承件与第一支承件间隔开并位于纸托盘200的端板和底板相连结的折叠线处。这些构成用于直立式基座290的支承位点。根据边缘或折叠线如何形成,为了稳定,第一或第二支承件中的至少一个较佳地位于线上(尽管支承件还可包括线的两个或更多个分立的位点,诸如从边缘突起的突起部)。另一支承件可以位于线上或位点上。更具体地,可以有由一条线上的任意两个位点构成的支承件,这些位点与充分离开线的第三位点连结。由此,如果包装借助面向下的基座290设定为竖直(例如在店内的展示架上,如图3中的虚线210表示那样),至少三个间隔开的位点或一个位点以及与其间隔开的一条线限定与架210接触的直立基座,且沿包装长度的垂直轴线的重心比基座290和顶部边缘294之间的中点低。这种降低的重心有助于容器在放置于展示架上时的稳定性,而不是悬于支架或钩子上。此外,借助形成基座290的、由位于一个平面内的两条平直边缘292、284提供的两个支承件,楔形托盘设计有助于容器的侧向稳定性,这又是由于降低的重心和与安置有基座290的展示架210的接触线存在相当大的间距(在此,分隔开楔形托盘在其较深边缘处的深度)。
图4A-4C示出用于传统泡罩卡组件的工具和密封机的分解示意图和相关平面图和剖视图(沿图4B的线B-B),该密封机适于提供用于如上所述的纸板托盘而不是平坦卡纸板的密封工位。如图4A-4C中可见,从板410向下延伸的支承通道414、415用于接纳纸板托盘400。托盘400的侧凸缘482搁置在周向垫圈412上,且板410又搁置在支承通道414、415上。(图4A和4B的分解图示出通道414、415、垫圈412和板410上方的托盘400,为了密封,托盘将搁置于它们上。)托盘400横跨两个侧通道415并通过角部销416引导到其密封位置。
图4C示出在密封工位的托盘400的端视图。在此,托盘400示出为就在其落座于支承通道414、415内的搁置位置上方并横跨相对两侧之间。具有从凸缘492的平面向上延伸的浅凸出体积460的塑料泡罩450示出为定位在托盘400上方,准备好降低(如图4C中可见),通过销416引导,以使其周向凸缘492与托盘400的周向边缘482匹配,因而,可进行密封。在支承通道414、415的边缘处,这种密封可通过具有边缘元件422的加热板/压力板组件420来提供,边缘元件下降(如图4C中所示)以施加热量/压力,以激活热封材料并形成用于使塑料泡罩450和纸板托盘400在它们的对应匹配凸缘492、482处连结的装置。如果需要沿整个周向边缘进行密封(如为了擅动过的证据或当包装较小物品时),加热/压力元件施加在纸板托盘400和泡罩450的整个周界周围,板410上的垫圈412抵抗加热/压力元件的向下压力。为了产生部分密封,加热/压力元件在托盘400的周界的部分处中断。一旦待密封的表面充分加热和挤压以形成期望的结合和/或密封,则完成的包装可从密封工位运走。
由于传统的泡罩卡加载-密封机经常构造有基本上与支承通道414、415和板410相同(除了塑料泡罩向上开口地放置并接纳从上施加的卡纸板以外)的工具,传统的热封机器容易地适应于如图4A-4C中所示采用成形纸托盘和互补的塑料泡罩,或者构造有净空高度更大的加热/压力板420来容纳具有较大产品包含体积的塑料泡罩或纸托盘,诸如在图1E-1H或图2A-2D中所示。用于热封的热量和压力施加于相同的平面内,就好像平纸片施加于塑料泡罩那样。尽管图4A-4C示出先放置的纸托盘400,这意味着产品加载到纸托盘400内,但塑料泡罩(通常比图4A-4C中所示的更凹入)也可先放置,然后加载有产品。(图14A-14C示出设想将先放置塑料泡罩的工具的示例。)
如可见,再参见图3,塑料泡罩250的周向边缘和凸缘282连结到纸板托盘200的周向边缘和凸缘212。所得的包装具有直立基座290,该基座由周向凸缘282和212连结的下边缘292以及由形成托盘200的下后边缘284的折叠线来限定。因此,尽管包装(如果设有如图1A-1B中的悬挂孔122)可从杆悬下,但它还能以基座290立于架子上。包装还可以成列地放置,而基座290与具有多个其它这种包装的包装纸盒的底部接触,并且将在它所放置的定位和位置保持稳定。
诸如图1H和2A中示出并由上述方法生产的泡罩包装容器将相对于现有的包装容器实现各种其它优点。例如,在一些实施例中,在纸板托盘的表面上包括穿孔以形成容器撕开口的穿孔切口192(参见图1A)或打开凸片可附加到托盘底板102(参见图1A),因而,对于消费者来说打开容器可以更安全且更容易。在其它实施例中,在托盘内部和外部的任何或所有表面上打印可有助于取消在一些应用场合下对附加的说明书或附加的打印插入物的需求,由此减小总体包装以及减少包装组装成本。其它优点包括使用较少塑料,这会对环境有益,因为较少的不可再循环废料将在消费者打开容器后被丢弃。此外,与塞入式(tuck)翼片的纸盒不同,纸托盘和热成形的塑料盖子在完全密封在一起时提供安全特征,因而,如果不对包装进行物理破坏,包装不能在店内打开;这可导致减少盗窃或擅动。在一个实施例中,塑料泡罩和纸托盘部件之间的密封是连续的并包围容器的组合体积;然而,密封还可在沿塑料泡罩和纸托盘部件之间的周向边缘的交叠部的位点或部段上形成。
上述实施例的变型也是可以的。例如,一些实施例可包括在包装内由纸板构成的插入物,以有助于保持产品在位。在其它实施例中,不是将纸托盘密封到热成形塑料盖,较佳地在某些应用场合中将一个纸托盘密封到另一个纸托盘,由此产生完全由可再循环纸板构成的包装容器。此外,在比传统的泡罩包装内的平卡纸中可用的可打印纸板表面更多的情况下,包装的美观可通过增加带有压花、箔冲压或层叠的图形来提高。在其它实施例中,RFID、验校点或感测标签可在打印生产过程中施加于纸板坯件,以向包装添加附加级别的安全度。最后,各种纸板托盘实施例可适于由客户来组装。在这些实施例中,可为了部件之间的初始互连而设置锁定板。由此,托盘组件可仅通过折叠互锁翼片来完成,而周向边缘处的密封产生包装,这种包装将提供任何试图移除被包含产品的证据,即使托盘内的一些翼片并未彼此胶粘或密封。
图6A-6D示出由坯件600构成的纸板托盘的另一示例性实施例,在此具有互锁端部翼片601a、601b。如图6C-6D中所示,互锁端部翼片601a、601b具有凸片和切口,它们允许在装配托盘600a时锁定翼片601a、601b的相对端部。此实施例允许手动组装托盘600a,此步骤不需要热封设备。如图1H或2B的已完成容器中可见,然后,手动组装好的托盘600a成为将塑料泡罩密封到托盘凸缘的设备的输入部件。
“垂直的”密封表面包装。在一些应用场合下,会期望重新定向凸缘,这些凸缘在上述实施例中从塑料泡罩和纸板托盘的边缘伸出并形成塑料泡罩和纸板托盘连结处的表面。如在图2B中定向的容器中可见,例如,凸缘212和282在连结时处于水平面内。此平面大体垂直于限定塑料泡罩和纸板托盘内的对应体积的深度的轴线(参见图2B中的轴线A1、A2)。因此,可将重新定向的密封表面称为“垂直的”(即,大体平行于限定塑料泡罩和纸板托盘内的对应体积的深度的轴线),尽管定向为水平或垂直是相对的并取决于包装如何定位。如图5A-5D中可见,如果塑料泡罩550和纸板托盘500构造成分别具有周向连结的条带或表面518、558,则重新定向的密封表面变得可能,条带或表面大体垂直于连结两部件的平面J(参见图5C)(在上面讨论的容器的水平凸缘的情况下),并且大体平行于限定塑料泡罩和纸板托盘内的对应体积的深度的轴线。这些表面518、558能在两个对应的周向连结表面18、558的交叠部处进行热封。如图5D中可见,这产生平坦的直立基座,楔形容器可竖直地搁置在该基座上。
为了使交叠部密封,塑料泡罩550具有朝上的外边缘,该外边缘具有对准唇部559,该唇部可以是凹入的周向密封沟道570的一部分(参见图5C)。塑料泡罩550被插入,以在纸板托盘500的对应外边缘内以略呈塑料酸奶油纸盒的凹入盖子的方式匹配。(在图5A和5C的侧视图和端视图中,塑料泡罩550的密封表面558插入纸板托盘500的匹配表面518内(通常承载有热封涂层))。然后,可通过工具来施加热量和压力,该工具从相对两侧接近连结表面518、588的交叠部,以形成热封或用于连结的其它装置。图5A用相对的箭头540示意地示出热元件(未在此示出;参见图14A-14C下方)可如何接近容器的交叠密封区域。通常在表面518、558接触的所有位点提供密封热量和压力,因而,用于密封的装置将位于跟随容器周缘的大致矩形的窄带处。
凸缘处的内侧密封。图13A-13F示出采用塑料泡罩1350和纸板托盘1300的容器的密封表面上的另一变型。在此,如图13A-13B、13E中可见,代替在周向边缘(对于它们都是最外侧边缘)处连结的塑料泡罩1350和纸板托盘1300,塑料泡罩1350具有周向密封表面1330(图13A的从塑料泡罩1350的外边缘向内凹陷的打阴影或带阴影的区域)。由此,塑料泡罩1350具有在其外边缘内侧的密封表面1330,并且塑料泡罩1350的此区域与由纸板托盘1300的矩形凸缘1312形成的周向边缘匹配。在此实施例中,塑料泡罩1350还具有悬挂开口1322。如图13C-13D中可见,托盘1300的凸缘1312的尺寸设计成与密封区域的矩形1330配合。
为了辅助包装过程,塑料泡罩1350可具有下翻唇部并可选地具有多个可变形凹部1352(图13E-13F中所示的实施例中是四个)。这些凹部可用作在密封之前将塑料泡罩1350保持到纸板托盘1300的周向边缘1312上的闭锁件。因此,如果如图13A-13F所示使用容器的人员期望手动地装填容器,则产品可放置在开口托盘内,然后,将塑料泡罩1350向下推,因而,凹部1352如图13F中所示抓持在纸板托盘1300的周向边缘1312下方。这使未密封的包装在密封之前可以容易地进行搬运,而不用那么担心溢出内含物。
如图13E中可见,在带有或不带有凹部1352的情况下,塑料泡罩1350用作为托盘1300的盖。一旦塑料泡罩1350向下压在托盘1300上以使密封区域1330抵靠凸缘1312,则差不多如图4A-4C中所示,在水平面内施加的加热和压力结构可用于形成热封。在此,仅必要的是诸如在图4C中412所示的垫圈容纳朝向下的唇部(带有任何凹部1352),而热量和压力施加于密封表面1330和在其正下方的凸缘1312。尽管凹部1352可有助于确保待密封的表面对准,但这还可通过诸如图4A的416处的定位塑料泡罩1350的那些销来完成,而托盘1300通过将其放置在对应于图4B中板410的板的开口内而保持在位。
其它替代的实施例。如上所述的容器可适于提供具有可以更好地适于某些产品类型或形状的包含体积的其它容器构造。例如,如图1B-1D中的楔形纸托盘可与塑料泡罩盖协作,该塑料泡罩盖可包含较少体积或者甚至是平坦的表面。如图8A中可见,在一个实施例中,具有周向凸缘802的楔形纸板托盘800可与塑料泡罩810连结,该塑料泡罩是大体平坦的透明表面。在一种形式中,平坦的塑料泡罩可具有诸如肋部的有限的凹入特征,以加强塑料泡罩或提供审美特征,诸如用于被包含产品的框架或几何形状设计。
在另一替代方式中,如图8B中可见,周向凸缘802可与包含透明的塑料窗822的卡纸板盖820连结。这种包装可增大容器内易于再循环的纸板材料的百分比,同时仍可看到内含物,这可能是高度期望的以允许购买者直接看到关键产品特征,诸如是必须可兼容的电连接器。作为又一替代方式,期望使被包含产品免受光,密封楔形包装的塑料泡罩810可由平纸板或由类似于托盘800的纸板托盘来替代,其用作楔形托盘的被包含体积的包装覆盖部件。对于所有这些盖,匹配的凸缘中的至少一个上的热封材料允许以图4A-4C中所示类型的工具来加工楔形托盘。可采用两种盖体积类型的变型。在一个容器中,盖或第一体积是凹入体积,第二体积是凹入体积,且第一体积和第二体积连结以构成比第一或第二凹入体积大的组合体积。在容器的另一实施例中,盖或第一体积是平坦的或具有凸出体积,第二体积是凹入体积,且第一体积和第二体积连结以构成基本上等于或小于第二凹入体积的组合体积。
如可理解地,这些包括楔形托盘800的各种替代的纸板楔形容器可用图4A-4C中所示类型的工具来进行加工,并具有与图3中290所示一样的、用于容器和被包含产品的竖直展示的稳定基座890。当包装许多在容器体积内散开并且购买者想要看到的小物件时,构造有平坦或大体平坦的塑料泡罩或盖810的实施例会是有用的。除非包装完全被装填,当楔形包装定位成搁置在基座890上时,散开的物件将移动到并散布到包装的底部上,并提供较低的重心以有助于容器在架子上的稳定展示。当具有开口体积的塑料泡罩用包括平纸板的包装盖部件或具有楔形形状的第二纸板托盘来代替时,产生相同的自立起的楔形容器。即使这种包装被装填,楔形形状也提供低于容器在搁置于基座890上时的高度中点的重心。
夹起来的塑料泡罩包装。图9A-9C示出图1B-1G的容器的另一实施例,该实施例允许获得不同的包装样式,特别是允许塑料泡罩内可见的物件突出显示或由添加于塑料泡罩的一部分的顶部上的经打印的纸板层来构成框架。如图9A-9C中可见,容器100a形成有密封到纸板托盘100a上的塑料泡罩150,该容器具有密封到塑料泡罩150顶上的另一层纸板901。
在此实施例的一个变型中,添加的纸板层901是如图9A中可见的单独部件,该部件具有与塑料泡罩150基本上相同的周界尺寸并具有开口903,塑料泡罩150的一部分通过该开口突出或可见。此单独的框架部件901可由涂敷有热封材料的纸板构成,并且当塑料泡罩150被热封到纸板托盘上时,为了有效的密封,该框架部件可用于热封步骤中。在一些应用场合中,塑料泡罩150本身将不密封到纸板,但被保持。这通过使塑料泡罩150的周向凸缘182的区域略窄于托盘100a和框架部件901的对应周向凸缘来实现。因此,热封步骤在这些凸缘的外周界处实现托盘100a和框架部件901的周向凸缘之间的直接密封。从外周界略向内,塑料泡罩150将夹在并捕获于托盘100a的周向凸缘和框架部件901的凸缘之间。
在另一变型中,附加的纸板层901由从托盘的下周向边缘延伸的附加板来构成。参见图1A,附加的构成框架的板可在沿翼片112的外边缘的折叠线处附连于翼片112。板901的外轮廓大体适合于装配好的纸板托盘的周向边缘。当塑料泡罩150施加于纸板托盘900的周向边缘时,板901保持不成为阻碍,然后板901放置到塑料泡罩950的周向边缘上,以使用热封来产生结合或用于连结的其它装置。
如图9C中可见,这种构成框架的构造具有用于图3中的直立基座的两个相同的支承件。即,密封的边缘982形成第一支承件,且是楔形托盘100a的底部边缘之一的折叠线984形成第二支承件,从而允许容器稳定地立于支承表面910上。
凸起的塑料泡罩。由于本发明的容器的纸板托盘(例如,图2A的托盘200)提供与和其连结的塑料泡罩(例如,图2A的泡罩250)的第一体积协作的第二体积,因此允许对上述容器的另一变型。如在图10A-10G中的容器内所示,代替塑料泡罩1050的体积是凹入的,在此它具有凸出特征并构造有分配板1060。因此,塑料泡罩1050具有周向凸缘1052并在其凸缘处连结到纸板托盘1000,但塑料泡罩1050形成有从由纸板托盘1000包围的体积1010中减去的凸出体积以及加大容器价值的其它功能性特征。
图10A示出用于形成托盘1000的纸板坯件1001。该纸板坯件具有两个侧板1080a、1080b,侧板分别具有变成托盘1000的周向凸缘的一部分的对应外板1088a、1088b。坯件1001还具有两个端板1082a和1082b。板1082b具有变成托盘1000的周向凸缘的一部分的对应外板1088c。板1082a具有对应的外板1084,该外板在悬挂开口1081的任一侧上具有成对的凸片切口1086、1086。板1084的内部变成托盘1000的周向凸缘的一部分。如将进一步阐释地,凸片切口1086、1086变成可再闭合的分配件开口的一部分。图10B-10C示出采用与图1A-1B中所示的相同类型的角部密封翼片在装配好之后的坯件1001。特别是,图10B-10C示出板1088a、1088b、1088c和1084如何提供用于泡罩1050的附连的周向凸缘。
图10D以平面图示出在塑料泡罩1050如图10E中所示与托盘1000连结之后的塑料泡罩1050和有助于形成分配容器的特征。特别是,塑料泡罩1050具有凹入到纸板托盘1000内并在V形脊部1062处与类似凹入的分配板1060连结的观察板1070。塑料泡罩1050还具有通向与悬挂开口1091相邻的穿孔切口1087的凸片切口1064。塑料泡罩1050使其特征的尺寸设计并定位成它可以附连于托盘1000的周向凸缘板1088a、1088b、1088c和1084,因而,凸片切口1064置于托盘1000的凸片切口1086上方且悬挂开口1081、1091重合。与塑料泡罩密封到纸板托盘凸缘通常是在这些部件周缘的周围是连续的上述其它实施例不同,在此容器内,密封可仅发生在图10G的打阴影的交叠区域,该区域包括u形区域1089和凸片切口区域1085。这可通过将密封热量和/或热封涂层仅施加于由阴影表示的区域内来实现。
在区域1089和1085处密封之后,容器有效地闭合;然而,在分配板1060的任一侧上的两个未封闭区域内缺少密封允许购买者通过从泡罩的剩余部分自由折断塑料泡罩的悬挂凸片部分(折断在凸片切口1064和穿孔切口1087处发生)来使分配板1060在脊部1062处铰转。塑料泡罩的悬挂凸片部分保留密封于纸板托盘板1084。塑料泡罩和托盘板上的交叠/干涉翼片形成可再用的锁定件,其中,塑料泡罩的悬挂凸片部分保持密封。分配板1060可在脊部1062处铰转打开,然后向下压回以抵靠其分离部分的边缘锁定,仍密封到纸板托盘板1084。
尽管示出有图10A-10B中均匀的深度,但纸板托盘1000可以同样好地呈上述楔形托盘的形式(例如图1B-1D),以提供更稳定的基座。具有分配板1060的这种楔形容器可特别适于包含并在打开之后从其基座上的竖直位置分配可能包装在这种容器内的螺钉或其它较小硬件。
制造设备和方法。图11A-11B示出传统包装装填和密封机,其中,在各种实施例中如上所述的容器可进行加工,诸如来自伊利诺斯州迪卡尔布的泰格特公司Alloyd系列品牌的Aergo 8机器或类似机器。图12A-12C示出一组工具,该工具借助示例是专门适于允许图10A-10C的容器在Aergo 8或类似机器上装填和密封。如图11A-11B中可见,包装机具有转动的转台1110,该转台具有八个容器嵌套托盘1120。这些托盘中的每个具有多个(在此示例中,五个)嵌套部1122,工具可插入这些嵌套部内以使机器适应于负载并如上所述密封特定容器。转台1110可转动,因而,每个嵌套托盘1120可定位在八个工位中的每个处。这些工位为如下:

图12A示出进入嵌套空腔内以装填和密封图10A-10C中所示类型的容器的工具的分解图。图12A示出放置在纸托盘1000上的塑料泡罩1050,因而,塑料泡罩的周向边缘与纸托盘1000的周向边缘对准。加热板1220在塑料泡罩1050上方。图12B示出图12A中的元件的堆叠的平面图,其中,加热板1220被移除,纸托盘1000和塑料泡罩1050搁置在腔室或嵌套部1122内。

然后,匹配的纸板托盘1000和塑料泡罩1050转动到工位1137。热量或者其它形式的能量将激活或固化在匹配的周向边缘处的热封涂层,这些能量由加热板1220施加必要的停留时间以形成连结周向边缘的充分结合。此密封动作将取决于形成的结合类型、它期望的强度、可渗透性、可剥性或其它质量。(经常,塑料泡罩连结到纸板托盘将比蛤壳密封快。)然后,密封的容器转动到该容器被排出的工位1138。这允许新的纸板托盘1000馈送到嵌套部1122内,而下一组纸板托盘1000前进以进行加载和密封。
如可见地,图12A-12C的工具可在如图2A-2B中所示的楔形纸板托盘、而不是与图10A-10C中那样一致深度的托盘放置于嵌套部1122内时同样好地工作。唯一必要的改变可以是托盘馈送机构。此外,借助加热板1220内的微小改变来增加净空高度,限定如图2A-2B和图4A-4B中所示的凹入空间的塑料泡罩可被容纳,以进行密封。
在替代的容器实施例中,塑料泡罩和纸板托盘中的每个的周向凸缘可由两个平面限定,第一平面在周向凸缘的相对两侧上的两个台阶部段处与第二平面连结。这种双平面凸缘实施例可便于包装具有不规则形状的某些产品。图12A-12C中所示的工具可适于容纳位于两平面(或者更一般地,为多个平面)内的连结周向边缘,这些周向边缘具有在橡胶垫1212和加热块1222内的对应上台阶和/或下台阶部段。由此,容器的平坦周向边缘可在边缘呈台阶状时从技术上包含多于一个平面,同时保持大体密封在共同的平坦区域内。
图5A-5D的包装需要与图12A-12C中所示略不同的工具,这是因为塑料泡罩和纸托盘不通过两组平行的凸缘来连结,这些凸缘被放在一起并密封于单个平坦平面内,该平面大体垂直于限定塑料泡罩和纸板托盘内的对应体积的深度的轴线(参见图2B中的轴线A1、A2)。图1A-1H的塑料泡罩和纸板托盘发生连结的凸缘是“水平的”,而图5A-5D的包装具有“垂直的”连结表面。在此,密封平面不是单个平坦平面,而是,密封发生在对准的交叠“垂直”边缘的、跟随塑料泡罩和纸托盘连结处的周缘的窄带处。
图14A示出进入嵌套托盘内以装填并密封图5A-5D中所示类型的容器的工具的分解图。图14A示出放置于塑料泡罩550上的纸托盘500,因而,其周向“垂直”密封边缘被对准,以与塑料泡罩550的对应周向“垂直”密封边缘交叠。在纸托盘500上方是具有加热元件1422的板1420。图14B示出图14A中的元件的堆叠的平面图,其中,加热板1420被移除,纸托盘500搁置在腔室或嵌套部1122内的塑料泡罩550(不可见)上。
图14C示出图14A的分解图中的元件堆的截面(沿图14B中的线B-B剖取)。塑料泡罩550搁置于由板1410的延伸部所围绕和支承的嵌套部1122内,这些延伸部包括在加热元件1422的下侧内边缘处与对应的锥部匹配的斜切插入件1416。纸托盘500已放置到塑料泡罩550上,以进行密封。(为了清楚起见,不在图14C中示出插入的产品。)加热板1420示出为使加热块1422与纸托盘500的周向边缘518接触,其中,该边缘与塑料泡罩550的对应边缘558对准和交叠。(还参见图5A-5D。)加热块1422将压力和热量施加于纸托盘500和塑料泡罩550的、对准的交叠周向边缘518、588上,从而使它们压抵插入件1416。这对应于图5A中540处所示的相对力。
图14A-14C不仅示出“垂直”密封边缘可如何由工具来操作,而且还示出塑料泡罩可如何先放置、向上打开、然后装填有产品。然后,纸楔形托盘容纳于工具部件内,这些部件下降到嵌套的装填塑料托盘上,以进行密封。这与具有先放置的用于装填的纸托盘的其它实施例是相反的。
虽然是参考优选各种实施例描述本发明,但是本领域技术人员将理解,在不偏离本发明的精神和范围的情况下,可以对形式和细节进行更改。

Claims (23)

1.一种容器,所述容器包括:
塑料泡罩,所述塑料泡罩具有第一平坦周向边缘和从所述周向边缘的平面延伸的成形的第一开口体积;
纸板托盘,所述纸板托盘具有第二平坦周向边缘,所述纸板托盘具有在折叠线处连接的多个板并形成第二开口体积;以及
用于连结所述塑料泡罩的所述第一平坦周向边缘与所述纸板托盘的所述第二平坦周向边缘的装置,因而,所述第一体积和所述第二体积形成组合的容器体积。
2.如权利要求1所述的容器,其特征在于,所述纸板托盘是楔形托盘,所述纸板托盘在一端处的深度大于在另一端处的深度。
3.如权利要求1所述的容器,其特征在于,用于连结所述塑料泡罩的所述平坦周向边缘与所述纸板托盘的所述平坦周向边缘的装置包括位于所述纸板托盘上的热封涂层。
4.如权利要求1所述的容器,其特征在于,包括所述平坦周向边缘的一部分的第一支承件和包括所述纸板托盘的折叠线的一部分的、与所述第一支承件间隔开的第二支承件构成用于所述容器的直立基座。
5.如权利要求4所述的容器,其特征在于,所述第一支承件包括所述平坦周向边缘的直线部分。
6.如权利要求4所述的容器,其特征在于,所述第二支承件包括所述纸板托盘的折叠线的直线部分。
7.如权利要求4所述的容器,其特征在于,所述第一支承件包括所述平坦周向边缘的直线部分,且所述第二支承件包括所述纸板托盘的折叠线的直线部分,两个所述直线部分位于同一平面内。
8.如权利要求1所述的容器,其特征在于,还包括在所述纸板托盘的表面内的穿孔以形成所述容器的撕开开口。
9.如权利要求1所述的容器,其特征在于,用于连结所述塑料泡罩的所述平坦周向边缘与所述纸板托盘的所述平坦周向边缘的装置包括密封件,所述密封件在连结的周向边缘之间延伸并基本上包围所述组合的体积。
10.如权利要求1所述的容器,其特征在于,第一体积是凹入体积,第二体积是凹入体积,且所述第一体积和所述第二体积连结以构成比所述第一或第二凹入体积大的组合体积。
11.如权利要求1所述的容器,其特征在于,第一体积是凸出体积,第二体积是凹入体积,且所述第一体积和所述第二体积连结以构成比所述第二凹入体积小的组合体积。
12.一种制造容器的方法,所述方法包括:
提供塑料泡罩,所述塑料泡罩具有第一平坦周向边缘和从所述周向边缘的平面延伸的成形的第一开口体积;
形成纸板托盘,所述纸板托盘具有平坦周向边缘,所述纸板托盘具有在折叠线处连接的多个板并形成第二开口体积;以及
使所述塑料泡罩的所述第一平坦周向边缘与所述纸板托盘的所述第二平坦周向边缘连结,因而,所述第一体积和所述第二体积形成组合的容器体积。
13.如权利要求12所述的方法,其特征在于,还包括用热封涂层来涂敷所述纸板托盘,以使所述塑料泡罩的所述平坦周向边缘与所述纸板托盘的所述平坦周向边缘密封地连结。
14.如权利要求13所述的方法,其特征在于,使所述塑料泡罩的所述平坦周向边缘与所述纸板托盘的所述平坦周向边缘连结的步骤包括对热封涂层进行加热。
15.一种容器,所述容器包括:
具有第一平坦周向边缘的盖;
具有第二平坦周向边缘的纸板托盘,所述纸板托盘具有在折叠线处连接的多个板,以形成具有一体积的楔形纸板托盘,所述体积在一端处的深度大于在另一端处的深度;以及
用于连结所述盖的所述第一平坦周向边缘与所述纸板托盘的所述第二平坦周向边缘的装置,所述装置形成包含的体积;以及
包括所述连结的平坦周向边缘的一部分的第一支承件和包括所述纸板托盘的折叠线的一部分的、与所述第一支承件间隔开的第二支承件,所述第一支承件和第二支承件构成用于所述容器的直立基座。
16.如权利要求15所述的容器,其特征在于,所述第一支承件包括所述平坦周向边缘的直线部分。
17.如权利要求15所述的容器,其特征在于,所述第二支承件包括所述纸板托盘的折叠线的直线部分。
18.如权利要求15所述的容器,其特征在于,所述第一支承件包括所述平坦周向边缘的直线部分,且所述第二支承件包括所述纸板托盘的折叠线的直线部分,两个所述直线部分位于同一平面内。
19.如权利要求15所述的容器,其特征在于,所述盖限定第一凹入体积,所述纸板托盘限定第二凹入体积,且所述第一体积和所述第二体积连结以构成比所述第一或第二凹入体积大的组合体积。
20.如权利要求15所述的容器,其特征在于,所述盖是平坦的或限定第一凹入体积,所述纸板托盘限定第二凹入体积,且所述盖和所述第二体积连结以构成基本上等于或小于所述第二凹入体积的组合体积。
21.一种在形成容器时使用的工具组,所述容器包括:
塑料泡罩,所述塑料泡罩具有第一周向边缘和从所述周向边缘延伸的成形的第一开口体积;以及
纸板托盘,所述纸板托盘具有承载热封材料的第二周向边缘,所述纸板托盘具有在折叠线处连接的多个板,以形成具有第二开口体积的楔形纸板托盘,所述第二开口体积在一端处的深度大于在另一端处的深度;
所述工具组包括:
嵌套部,所述嵌套部用于在加载产品时接纳所述塑料泡罩和纸板托盘中的一个并保持它,而所述塑料泡罩和纸板托盘中的另一个放置成形成组合的体积;
引导件,所述引导件附连于嵌套部,所述引导件用于以交叠对准的方式支承和保持所述塑料泡罩和纸板托盘的对应周向边缘,所述交叠的周向边缘定向成与限定所述塑料泡罩和纸板托盘内的对应体积的深度的轴线大体平行;以及
加热工具,所述加热工具用于施加于所述塑料泡罩和纸板托盘的所述交叠的周向边缘的至少一部分,以激活所述热封材料。
22.如权利要求21所述的工具组,其特征在于,所述塑料泡罩以其第一开口体积向上开口的方式支承于嵌套部内,且所述纸板托盘放置成其第二开口体积向下开口,且所述加热工具从所述容器外部接近所述塑料泡罩和纸板托盘的所述交叠的周向边缘。
23.如权利要求22所述的工具组,其特征在于,所述塑料泡罩具有围绕其周界的密封槽,且所述引导件包括支承件,所述支承件放置于所述密封槽内、与接近所述交叠的周向边缘的所述加热工具相对的位置。
