背景技术
由可吸收材料或生物可降解材料(该术语在通篇中是可互换使用的)制成钉或其他组织紧固件是公知的。例如,Bays等人的美国专利4884572和4895148公开的全部内容通过参考合并于此,其描述了生物可降解材料修复钉,选择该生物可降解材料以具有超过组织所需愈合时间的生物降解时间。

具体实施方式
现在参照图1A-图1D,其描述了根据本发明的一个实施例构造和实施的旋转钉10。
本发明的钉由可吸收材料构造而成。钉可由根据所需降解时间所选定的类型的生物可降解聚合物或共聚物构造而成,但不是限制性的。该时间又取决于作为手术过程主体的软骨或其他组织的预期愈合时间。已知的生物可降解聚合物和共聚物的降解时间范围从聚乙交酯所需的大约三个月到聚谷氨酸亮氨酸共聚物所需的大约48个月。用于可吸收缝合线等中的普通生物可降解聚合物是聚乙交酯,其降解时间为大约12至18个月。不是限制性的,钉可由可吸收共聚物构造而成,该可吸收共聚物来自乙醇酸和乳酸,诸如合成聚酯,其化学性能上类似于其他商业上可用的乙交酯和丙交酯共聚物。乙交酯和丙交酯在活体内通过水解成乳酸和乙醇酸来降解和吸收,之后由身体代谢。
根据本发明的非限制性实施例,钉10包括螺旋形本体12,其具有闭环基部14和螺旋的螺旋线圈16,该螺旋线圈从基部14延伸并且终止于用于刺穿组织(未示出)的尖端18。如图1C中和图1D中所示,每个线圈16具有的横截面具有包括彼此相连的至少一个弓形部20和至少一个笔直部22的内周边。在现有技术的螺旋紧固件中,基部是开口的,即最下部的线圈不是连续的闭合线圈或环。与此相反,在本发明中,基部14是闭合的。该几何结构为钉10提供更优秀的强度,这对于使用可吸收材料是特别重要的。
在图1A-图1D图的实施例中,内周边包括两个笔直部22,其对着与正多边形的两条侧边对应的角;以及单个弓形部20,其从两个笔直部22的端点延伸。所述正多边形可以是五边形,其中所对着的角度为72°。该弓形部20和笔直部22通过圆角联结。例如,该弓形部20和笔直部22通过圆角24联结,并且该两个笔直部通过圆角26联结。内周边包括钉10的驱动部分,即,钉放置于互补形状的驱动轴(未示出)上,该驱动轴旋转钉以使得其螺旋进入组织(未示出)中。
如图1A中所示,尖端18在相对于螺旋向上指向的宽角度W处具有尖锐的边刃。角度W远大于该线圈的螺旋角度。
根据本发明的一个实施例,靠近尖端18的螺旋部的上表面包括一个或多个梯级28(该方案未在图1A中示出)。当拉力施加于钉10上时,梯级28可帮助防止螺旋的打开。
现参照图2A-图2C,其示出了根据本发明的一个实施例构造和实施的旋转钉30。
钉30包括螺旋形本体32,其具有闭环基部34和螺旋的螺旋线圈36,该螺旋线圈从基部34延伸,并终止于用于刺穿组织(未示出)的尖端38。如图2B和图2C中所示,每个线圈36具有的横截面具有包括彼此相连的至少一个弓形部和至少一个笔直部的内周边。
在该实施例中,该弓形部包括弓形花键凹槽40,并且该笔直部包括径向笔直部42,其将一个凹槽40连接至另一凹槽。例如,每个弓形花键凹槽40具有起点44和终点46,其中起点44始于比终点46小的半径。每个径向笔直部42将一个凹槽40的起点44连接至相邻凹槽40的终点46。这里,该弓形部和笔直部也通过圆角联结。

Claims (3)

1.一种旋转钉(10),包括:
螺旋形本体(12),所述螺旋形本体(12)由可吸收材料构造而成并且具有闭环基部(14)和从所述基部(14)延伸的螺旋线圈(16)的螺旋部,所述螺旋线圈(16)终止于用于刺穿组织的尖端(18),其中所述线圈(16)中的每个线圈具有如下的横截面,所述横截面具有包括彼此相连的弓形部(20)和笔直部(22)的内周边,
其中所述内周边包括两个笔直部(22)和单个弓形部(20),所述两个笔直部(22)对着与正多边形的两条侧边相对应的角,所述单个弓形部(20)从所述两个笔直部(22)的终点延伸。
2.根据权利要求1所述的旋转钉(10),其中所述弓形部(20)和所述笔直部(22)通过圆角联结。
3.根据权利要求1所述的旋转钉(10),其中,靠近所述尖端(18)的所述螺旋部的上表面包括一个或多个梯级(28)。
