转印涉及借助于转印纸印刷各种各样的材料,例如纺织品。用颜料施涂转印纸,其然后用热转印通过升华将颜料转印在可印刷的材料上。
WO 00/06392公开了一种特别是用于喷墨印刷的转印纸,其至少在待印刷的侧上设有脱离层或隔离层,其中该层具有最高100ml/分钟的孔隙度。
在已知的转印纸的情况下经常出现的缺点在于,例如借助于喷墨印刷施涂的颜料会被涂污。该问题本身在应用转印纸的情况下出现,在施涂颜料层之前,用亲水性聚合物施涂这些转印纸,例如用羧甲基纤维素。
令人吃惊地发现,在用水性液体(其包含聚丙烯酸铵)施涂转印纸的情况下,可以至少很大程度地避免上面所描述的缺点。
因此,本发明的第一个方面涉及制备转印纸的方法,特别是制备用于喷墨印刷的转印纸的方法,其包括步骤:
(a)在纸的待印刷的正面上施涂第一种水性液体并随后进行干燥,其中第一种水性液体包含聚丙烯酸铵,和
(b)任选地,在纸的背面上施涂第二种水性液体并随后干燥,其中第二种水性液体任选地包含聚丙烯酸铵。
制备转印纸所使用的原料是常用的纸,例如白色的或未漂白的纸,具有通常60-140g/m2纸,特别是80-120g/m2纸的重量。
依照根据本发明的方法的步骤(a),使待印刷的正面,即随后用颜料施涂的那一面,与包含聚丙烯酸铵的第一种水性液体接触。用于施涂的聚丙烯酸铵通常具有500道尔顿或更高,例如1000-5000道尔顿和特别是1000-2000道尔顿的重均分子量。优选,第一种水性液体包含基于液体总重量10-50重量%份额,特别是20-40重量%份额的聚丙烯酸铵。第一种水性液体可以通过常规方法,例如借助于刮板例如刮片或辊筒刮刀,或者通过喷涂来施涂。在施涂后,通常将纸在升高的温度例如40-80℃下进行干燥。
优选,步骤(b)包括将第二种水性液体施涂在纸的背面上并且随后进行干燥。优选,第二种水性液体包含亲水性有机聚合物,特别是聚丙烯酸铵。优选,第二种水性液体包含基于液体总重量5-30重量%份额,特别是10-20重量%份额的聚丙烯酸铵或其他有机聚合物。第二液体的施涂和随后的干燥可以如在第一种液体的情况下那样按照已知的方法来进行。
在纸上施涂通常10-40g/m2,特别是15-25g/m2量的第一种和任选地第二种水性液体,其中在有些实施方案中也可以施涂更高或更少的量。此外优选的是,在纸的正面上施涂1-25g,特别是2-20g干重的量的聚丙烯酸铵。优选,在背面上施涂0.5-15g,特别是1-10g干重的量的聚丙烯酸铵(或其他亲水性聚合物)。
第一种水性液体和任选地还有第二种水性液体可以具有中性至碱性pH值,例如≥7,例如≥9的pH值。
除了聚丙烯酸铵以外,第一种水性液体还可以任选地包含其他添加剂,例如无机添加剂如SiO2或硅酸盐,有机添加剂,特别是有机聚合物例如纤维素衍生物,例如羧甲基纤维素,和/或非挥发性的低分子有机物质,特别是多元醇,例如甘油。在特别优选的实施方案中,所述添加剂选自:
(i)SiO2或硅酸盐,例如以10-50重量%份额,特别是10-30重量%份额,
(ii)纤维素衍生物,例如羧甲基纤维素,例如以5-25重量%份额,特别是5-15重量%份额,和/或
(iii)多元醇例如甘油,例如以5-25重量%份额,特别是10-20重量%份额,
其中所述重量份额分别基于第一种液体的总重量。
除了所提及的添加剂以外,液体的余量优选由水组成。第一种液体中水的份额优选≥50重量%,特别是≥70重量%。优选不存在有机挥发性溶剂。
以下是用于施涂纸的正面的根据本发明的水性液体的优选的具体实例,如下所示:

用于施涂纸背面的水性液体的优选实例如下:
聚丙烯酸铵    10-20重量%
余量H2O
本发明的另一个方面是,使用包含聚丙烯酸铵的水性液体来制备转印纸,特别是用于喷墨印刷的转印纸。
可以使用水性液体来施涂转印纸的正面和/或背面,如上所述的那样。
本发明的还另一个方面是转印纸,特别是用于喷墨印刷的转印纸,其在待印刷的正面上和任选地在背面上用聚丙烯酸铵施涂,特别是以上面说明的量,例如在正面上1-25g/m2纸的量和例如在背面上0.5-15g/m2纸的量。
此外,涂层,特别是正面的涂层还可以包含上面说明的添加剂。
本发明的还另一个方面是印刷转印纸的方法,其中在如上所述的转印纸的正面上,例如通过喷墨印刷,施涂可升华的颜料。可以将颜料在常规的印墨中用常用的装置,例如喷墨印刷机,根据已知的方法施涂。施涂后,将已印刷的转印纸在室温或在最高80℃的升高的温度下进行干燥。令人吃惊地发现,在施涂和干燥时,颜料没有显示出被涂污的倾向。
可以已知的方式使用转印纸来印刷物品,特别是用于纺织品。
因此,本发明的另外一个方面是用于物品,特别是纺织品印刷的已印刷的转印纸,其在正面上用可升华颜料和聚丙烯酸铵施涂。
待印刷的纺织品通常是未染色的或白色的。然而,任选地,也可以采用预先染色的纺织品。通常涉及这样的纺织品,其包含至少50-60重量%份额的聚酯纤维和/或聚酰胺纤维,或者用聚酯和/或聚酰胺施涂。
令人吃惊地,用根据本发明的转印纸也可以施涂可伸缩的纺织品而没有涂污。为此,有利的是使用第一种涂层液体,其除了聚丙烯酸铵以外,还包含多元醇例如甘油,和/或纤维素衍生物,例如羧甲基纤维素。在加热的情况下,将用这样的液体施涂的纸粘着在待印刷的材料上,从而借助常规的辊压方法进行纸的颜色转移到待印刷的材料上而没有颜料的涂污,是可能的。
因此,本发明的另外一个主题是用于印刷物品,特别是纺织品的方法,其特征在于,在升高的温度,例如160-240℃下,使待印刷的物品与如上所述的已印刷的转印纸接触,从而将转印纸的可升华颜料转移到待印刷的物品上。

Claims (12)

1.用于制备转印纸,特别是制备用于喷墨印刷的转印纸的方法,其包括步骤:
(a)在纸的待印刷的正面上施涂第一种水性液体并随后进行干燥,其中第一种水性液体包含聚丙烯酸铵,和
(b)任选地,在所述纸的背面上施涂第二种水性液体并随后进行干燥,其中第二水性液体任选地包含聚丙烯酸铵。
2.根据权利要求1的方法,其特征在于,第一种水性液体包含基于液体总重量10-50重量%份额,特别是20-40重量%份额的聚丙烯酸铵。
3.根据权利要求1或2的方法,其特征在于,在所述纸上施涂10-40g/m2,特别是15-25g/m2的量的所述第一种和任选地所述第二种水性液体。
4.根据权利要求1至3之一的方法,其特征在于,在所述纸的正面上施涂1-25g,特别是2-20g干重的量的聚丙烯酸铵。
5.根据权利要求1至4之一的方法,其特征在于,所述第一种和任选地所述第二种水性液体具有≥7,特别是≥9的pH值。
6.根据权利要求1至5之一的方法,其特征在于,所述第一种液体包含其他添加剂,其特别是选自:
(i)SiO2或硅酸盐,例如以10-50重量%份额,特别是10-30重量%份额,
(ii)纤维素衍生物,例如羧甲基纤维素,例如以5-25重量%份额,特别是5-15重量%份额,和/或
(iii)多元醇,例如甘油,例如以5-25重量%份额,特别是10-20重量%份额,
其中重量份额分别基于所述第一种液体的总重量。
7.包含聚丙烯酸铵的水性液体用于制备转印纸,特别是用于喷墨印刷的转印纸的用途。
8.转印纸,特别是用于喷墨印刷的转印纸,其特征在于,在待印刷的正面上和任选地在背面上用聚丙烯酸铵施涂,特别是在正面上以1-25g/m2纸的量,和任选地在背面上以0.5-15g/m2纸的量。
9.用于印刷转印纸的方法,其特征在于,在根据权利要求8的转印纸的正面上施涂,例如通过喷墨印刷施涂可升华颜料的层。
10.用于印刷物品,特别是纺织品的已印刷的转印纸,其特征在于,在所述正面上用聚丙烯酸铵和可升华颜料施涂。
11.用于印刷物品,特别是纺织品的方法,其特征在于,使待印刷的物品与根据权利要求10的已印刷的转印纸在升高的温度下接触,从而将转印纸的可升华颜料转移到待印刷的物品上。
12.根据权利要求11的方法,其特征在于,通过辊压进行纸的颜料至待印刷的物品上的转移。
