技术领域
本发明的各实施例涉及使用具有多重流送(multiple streaming)能力的设备来流送内容的领域,更具体而言涉及一种利用多流能力来流送内容的预测方法。
背景技术
当使用不等时的分组交换网络将内容从信源流送到目的地时,各种实现方式通常将数据缓冲在该目的地以便顾及由于非等时传送而引起的某种级别的抖动。当在目的地处的客户端决定改变其信道选择时,由于当前客户端侧缓冲器的清空(flushing)以及在可以呈现新的数据之前对新信道的新数据流的缓冲(buffering up)而典型地具有延迟。该延迟通常在每次客户端改变到另一个信道选择时发生。
发明内容
根据本发明的第一方面,提供了一种流送内容的方法,包括:
接收改变到不同信道的选择;
将媒体服务器处的第一调谐器分配到所述不同信道,所述媒体服务器至少具有第一调谐器和第二调谐器;
将与所述不同信道相关的数据从媒体服务器处的第一调谐器流送到客户端设备;
基于所述不同信道预测下一个信道选择;
将媒体服务器处的第二调谐器分配到所预测的下一个信道选择;以及
将与所预测的下一个信道选择相关的数据从媒体服务器处的第二调谐器流送到客户端设备,其中流送与所预测的选择相关的数据发生在流送与所述不同信道相关的数据期间。
根据本发明的第二方面,提供了一种用于流送内容的设备,包括:
预测器,用来基于一个或多个所接收的信道选择来预测要被选择的下一个信道;
媒体服务器处的第一调谐器,用于调谐到所选择的信道,以便将与所选择的信道相关的第一数据流流送到客户端设备;
媒体服务器处的第二调谐器,用于调谐到所预测的信道,以便将与所预测的信道相关的第二数据流流送到客户端设备,其中流送与预测的选择相关的数据发生在流送与所述不同信道相关的数据期间。
根据本发明的第三方面,提供了一种用于流送内容的系统,包括:

下面将描述利用多流能力预测和流送内容的系统和方法的各实施例。在以下说明中阐明了许多具体细节。然而,应当理解,本发明的实施例可以在没有这些具体细节的情况下实施。在其他情况下,为了不使对本说明书的理解变得模糊,没有显示已知的电路、结构和技术。

每当有可用调谐器和缓冲器时,该可用调谐器可以被调谐到所预测的信道,并且与所预测的该信道相关的数据可以被流送到该可用缓冲器以用于存储。以这种方式,当所预测的信道被选择时,与所预测信道相关的数据已在该缓冲器中就绪。然后,所缓冲的数据可以被访问并被呈现,以便在没有进一步延迟的情况下进行显示。

Claims (22)

将与所述不同信道相关的数据从媒体服务器处的第一调谐器流送到客户端设备;
基于所述不同信道预测下一个信道选择;
将媒体服务器处的第二调谐器分配到所预测的下一个信道选择;以及
将与所预测的下一个信道选择相关的数据从媒体服务器处的第二调谐器流送到客户端设备,其中流送与所预测的选择相关的数据发生在流送与所述不同信道相关的数据期间。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,还包括:在客户端设备处呈现与所述不同信道相关的数据流。
3.如权利要求2所述的方法,还包括:将所呈现的数据提供到与所述客户端设备耦合的显示器。

11.一种用于流送内容的设备,包括:
预测器,用来基于一个或多个所接收的信道选择来预测要被选择的下一个信道;
媒体服务器处的第一调谐器,用于调谐到所选择的信道,以便将与所选择的信道相关的第一数据流流送到客户端设备;
媒体服务器处的第二调谐器,用于调谐到所预测的信道,以便将与所预测的信道相关的第二数据流流送到客户端设备,其中流送与预测的选择相关的数据发生在流送与所述不同信道相关的数据期间。
12.如权利要求11所述的设备,还包括耦合到各缓冲器的呈现元件,其用来在各缓冲器之间进行选择,并且用来呈现所缓冲的数据以便当信道被选择时显示所述数据。
13.如权利要求12所述的设备,还包括耦合到所述呈现元件的显示设备,其用来显示所呈现的数据。
14.如权利要求11所述的设备,其中所述预测器是计算机服务器;其中将要选择的下一个信道将来在计算机客户端设备处进行选择;其中所述第一调谐器经由网络将第一数据流流送到所述客户端设备,以及其中所述第二调谐器经由网络将第二数据流流送到所述客户端设备。
15.如权利要求11所述的设备,还包括:
所述客户端设备处的第一缓冲器,用于存储经由网络从第一调谐器接收的与所选择的信道相关的第一数据流;其中,所述客户端设备至少具有所述第一缓冲器和第二缓冲器,以及
所述客户端设备处的第二缓冲器,用于存储经由网络从第二调谐器接收的与所预测的信道相关的第二数据流。
16.如权利要求12所述的设备,其中,预测下一个信道包括基于接收的来自客户端的信道选择的方向预测下一个信道选择。
17.一种用于流送内容的系统,包括:
媒体服务器处的预测器,用来预测要被选择的下一个信道;
媒体服务器处的多个调谐器,用来调谐到一个或多个频域,每个频域包括与多个信道相关的多个数据流;
媒体服务器处的一个或多个多路分解器,用来从与所选择信道相关的其中一个调谐器选择多个数据流中的一个,并且用来从与所预测信道相关的其中一个调谐器选择多个数据流中的一个,以便流送与所选择信道和所预测信道相关的数据流到客户端设备,其中,流送与所预测的选择相关的数据发生在流送与所述不同信道相关的数据期间。
18.如权利要求17所述的系统,还包括耦合到各缓冲器的呈现元件,所述呈现元件用来在各缓冲器之间进行选择,并且用来呈现与所选择的信道相关的数据流。
19.如权利要求18所述的系统,还包括耦合到所述呈现元件的显示设备,所述显示设备用来显示所呈现的数据。
20.如权利要求17所述的系统,其中,所述预测器是计算机服务器;其中将要选择的下一个信道将来在计算机客户端设备处进行选择;其中一个或多个多路分解器经由网络将多个数据流流送到所述客户端设备。
21.如权利要求17所述的系统,还包括:
客户端设备处的多个缓冲器,用于经由网络从所述多路分解器接收与所选择的或所预测的信道相关的数据流。
22.如权利要求17所述的系统,其中,预测下一个信道选择包括基于接收的来自客户端的信道选择的方向预测下一个信道选择。
