技术领域
本发明一般涉及在通信网络中重新路由业务。
背景技术
尽管像因特网协议上的电视流多播(IPTV)等要求点到多点连接性的多媒体业务上的公知性,E树服务的支持在面向连接的-分组交换(CO-PS)网络中是最近的事件,像多协议标签交换(MPLS)、传输MPLS(T-MPLS)或提供商主干桥接工程(PBB-TE)。有关如何有效地支持E树服务并在CO-PS网络中提供所要求的网络弹性的争论仍在进行中。一直被灌输的某个疑问是CO-PS网络实际上对于此类服务不如无连接-分组交换(CL-PS)网络那么好。目前不存在最终标准解决方案。
像基于以太网网络(例如,提供商桥或提供商主干桥)等现有无连接选择仍依赖极基础的控制平面解决方案以用于回路避免和弹性,像生成树协议的几个变型。与其实现精密业务工程设计的有限能力一起,这是为什么向CO-PS网络的迁移不可避免地正在发生的原因之一,迫使标准制订机构和技术团体面对与E树服务的有效支持有关的问题。
最终,完全依赖开放系统互连(OSI)基本参考模型的第3层(即,IP层)的解决方案是不适合的,成本效率低且复杂度不当,特别是在与城域网络有关时。
标准制订机构目前正在致力于定义以所要求的效率程度来支持E树服务的适当网络基础设施。迄今为止,对于点到多点基础设施,没有最终确定完整的可互操作解决方案,但有解决CO-PS网络中此问题的几个尝试。最有效的解决方案利用CO-PS网络中建立的树状基础设施,这些基础设施将一个入口或根节点(这是E树服务进入网络/子网络的节点)连接到几个出口节点(它们是E树服务的目的地),旨在优化网络资源的总体使用。有关如何为特定网络拓扑和可能约束构建最佳树的大量文献可供使用。另外,弹性是此类服务的一个基本要求,因为像IPTV等盈利应用不能以低质量或不可接受的中断提供给付费客户。此树状基础设施因此需要受到保护以防止链路或节点故障,可能以非业务消耗方式来保护,像1:1或恢复方案中一样,其中,在主要路径出现故障时,业务发送到备份路径上。
借助于像MPLS中的快速重新路由(FRR)等局部修复方案,或其操作是提供完整的备份树的全局修复方案,几个已知的解决方案解决了此要求。局部修复方案的限制在于在节点故障发生的情况下,树状基础设施需要进行局部修改,因为网络中的一些其它节点需要以不同方式转发业务以弥补故障节点并确保E树服务业务持续性。这能够是难以实现的,要求极其高的复杂度,并导致更长的恢复时间。另外,在故障状况期间,业务重复是可能的。除实际上需要配置可能极高数量的备选路径以避免单点故障有关的问题外,FRR的主要限制在于其必需的局部修改性质,这尤其不是很好地适合于可能重要的树状基础设施。
在全局修复方案的情况下,无论在活动树状基础设施中故障状况在何处,是什么,与E树服务有关的所有业务被转换到备份树。对于出口节点,这能够变得特别有问题,因为即使转换时间保持到最小,所有此类节点也将看到对业务的影响,甚至远离故障发生处的那些节点。对此类情形进一步添加复杂度,像例如IPTV情况下的IGMP等E树特定控制平面协议能遇到困难,并且可能需要在允许业务再次正常转发前在备份树上恢复更新信息。这能导致甚至更长的时间用于保护方案最终收敛和返回正常操作。
发明内容
根据本发明的一方面,提供一种在跨通信网络的路径上的故障情况中在该网络中重新路由业务的方法。该方法包括确定位于故障与网络入口节点之间的第一节点是否能够将业务转换到避免故障的备选路径。如果确定第一节点不具如此能力,则确定位于第一节点上游的第二节点是否能将业务转换到避免故障的备选路径。
根据本发明的另一方面,提供一种通信网络,该通信网络包括通过相应链路连接的多个节点以形成跨网络的用于业务的路径。节点包括配置成确定故障在重新路由选择节点与网络出口节点之间已发生的至少一个重新路由选择节点,并且重新路由选择节点配置成确定它是否能将业务转换到备选路径上以避免故障。如果它不能如此,则重新路由选择节点配置成促使故障通知信号发送到上游节点,以及上游节点配置成确定它是否能将业务转换到备选路径以避免故障。

具体实施方式
图1中示出配置成实现本发明的一实施例的网络1。网络1包括网状网络,并且树状结构已识别和配置。从广义上来说,网络1包括示为圆形要素的多个节点和在节点之间提供通信的链路,链路示为连接节点的线条。根节点是负责网络1内E树服务的分发的节点,并且可称为网络入口节点,由字母“R”表示。网络1还包括多个叶或出口节点,这些节点是附连到E树服务的目的地的节点,并且每个由字母“L”表示。网络的每个节点包括配置成促使接收业务在要求时被转发的处理器。例如,如图1a中所示,节点4包括处理器80。
网络1提供活动树结构以支持E树服务和相关联备用树结构。备用树结构布置成以可称为“分形的”方式来使用。这意味着在活动树中创建某个类型的层次结构,使得有可能识别能对故障状况自动反应的子树,而无需将故障状况通知到整个树的根节点以便将与E树服务有关的所有业务转换到备用树上。活动树结构和备用树结构(均包括多个子树)在配置网络时或者在需要支持的服务必须展开时识别。活动和备用树结构与子树结构之间的路径分集必须进行配置以便将单点故障限制到最小数量或实际上消除单点故障。两个逻辑上不相交的树能始终得到识别,每个由多个子树组成。正如下面将描述的,在故障的情况下,尽可能靠近故障本身来“修复”树,仅在最适当的子树层(如果有)而不必在整个树层(这将仅在无子树能够处理特定故障时发生)来执行保护转换操作。这样,业务影响仅局限于最小和不可避免的数量的叶节点,而不必局限到整个树。
图1示出正常工作状况中的网络1。树包括两个主要部分,其链路通过加粗箭头示出,由网络提供。如图1中能容易看到的,这两个部分是左子树部分和右子树部分。正如下面将描述的,树的一些节点被配置为将业务路由到备选路径以避免故障的重新路由选择节点。
在图2中,在3示出的故障状况在网络1中对附连到叶节点2的链路13已发生。树的此部分已配置为子树,因为由于网络1的物理拓扑原因,它能自动从包括图2中所示故障3的故障范围自动恢复。节点4用作重新路由选择节点,它是负责将业务从活动子树(即,正常操作状况下使用的子树)转换到备用子树的节点,并且能称为是该特定子树的根。重新路由选择节点是已配置成无论何时节点检测到下游故障或者它收到下游节点关于故障事件的通知均能转换到备用备选路径(即,子树)的节点。该节点的责任包括在该节点本身能执行转换以将业务从下游故障转移离开到备选路径的所有那些情况下,滤除向树的上游(即向根节点6,以及在故障与节点6之间)输送的故障通知。这样,处理故障的反应能保持为尽可能在故障局部,并且不直接涉及转换操作的其它(上游)节点将不知道有关故障的任何情况。
在确定下游故障已发生时,重新路由选择节点4将目的地为叶节点2的业务转换到通过链路14发送到叶节点10,并且叶节点10促使业务通过链路15发送到叶节点2。
由于节点4执行的子树转换,整个树已无需已知故障,并且除示为“保护子树”的圆圈中三个节点2、4和10外,叶的所有节点未看到E树业务的增大。
在图3中,不同的故障状况已发生。在此情况下,它是在30示出的节点4的故障。能够对图2的故障做出反应并从其恢复的备用子树不能处理此故障状况,因此,解决该问题必须更靠近整个树的根节点6来实现。这相当于说,包括图2中提及的子树的更大的子树必须采取动作以从故障恢复。可称为更大子树的根节点的图3中所示的重新路由选择节点20得到通知,并且操作以将业务转换到相关的备用子树。重新路由选择节点20借助于通过链路11从注意到故障的节点8发送的故障通知信号来确定故障已发生。要注意,此处节点8不是重新路由选择节点,并且因此节点8操作以将故障信号转发到上游节点,节点20。在接收信号时,节点20配置成将收到的业务跨链路27转换到节点21,节点21配置成将业务跨链路28发送到节点22,节点22配置成将业务跨链路29发送到节点10,以及节点10配置成将业务跨链路15发送到叶节点2。
又一故障状况在图4中示出。与上述故障状况相比,该故障更靠近整个树的根节点6发生,并且图3中所示的子树不能处理该故障。应明白,如图4中所示,更大子树(如果可用)必须对此故障做出反应。在50示出的故障在连接节点20和31的链路36中已发生。在确定故障已发生时,(重新路由选择)节点31配置成将业务转换到备选路径上以到达叶节点2。如图4中所示,备选路径包括节点32、33、34、35、28及10和链路37、38、39、40、41、29及15。应明白,如图4中所示,更大子树(如果可用)必须对此故障做出反应。
如果没有子树能够有效地从故障状况恢复,则整个树可涉及保护转换,并且在该情况下,整个树的根节点6执行必需的转换以将业务转移到备选路径上。
还将理解,上面已讨论的所有故障状况对整个树的右端侧部分上的叶节点无影响。
将理解,提供备选路径中涉及的那些节点在初始设置过程中适当地配置,以便到达那些节点的转移业务发送到备选路径的下一节点。这可在初始设置过程中通过适当配置每个节点的转发表而实现。
在上述三个故障状况中,已提及树基础设施中在不同层的三个重新路由选择节点4、20和31。每个那些节点对应于可称为三个保护子树(即,每个子树包括活动和备用树)的相应子根节点,并且在提供备选路径方面起到特殊作用。
重新路由选择节点负责两个可能的动作过程:
-借助于转换操作来提供故障恢复,没有向上游节点的进一步通知信号
或者
-通过发送故障通知信号,将保护委托到更高子树。
要注意,故障通知信号向树的上游输送,因为这允许重新路由选择方法的有效实现。假设重新路由选择节点不在故障状况中,它们负责确定它们响应故障状况而接收的故障状况信号(然而,它们可还或备选地直接检测故障状况)是否能通过将业务转换到它们是其根的备用子树上而局部地修复,或者它们是否转而需要将故障通知信号转发到树的更高层,更高层能够是更大的子树(其包括它们自己的子树)或整个树。
故障通知信号能方便地使用诸如操作管理和维护(OAM)分组或控制平面协议(也取决于已用于CO-PS网络的实际技术)等已知技术或通过专有消息集来实现。
图5是示出网络1实现的总体重新路由选择方法的流程图。在100,故障在网络中已发生。在步骤101,节点检测到该故障。如果节点是重新路由选择节点,则过程继续到步骤104。如果节点不是重新路由选择节点,则如在步骤103所示,向上游发送故障通知信号。在到达重新路由选择节点时,如在步骤104所示,节点确定它是否能通过将业务转换到备选路径而从故障恢复。如果它能,则如在步骤105所示,实现转换操作(以便从故障恢复),并且无向上游发送到另一节点的故障通知信号。然而,如果重新路由选择节点不能从故障恢复,则在步骤106,确定节点实际上是否是树的根节点。如果该节点是根节点,则不相交保护路径不可用。如果该节点不是根节点,则过程返回到步骤103。
图6是重新路由选择节点采取的步骤的流程图。在200,故障通知信号由下游节点发送到重新路由选择节点。在接收信号时,步骤201要求重新路由选择节点确定节点是否能通过将业务转换到备选路径而从故障恢复。如果重新路由选择节点确定它能够如此,则节点执行步骤202以将业务转移到备选路径。这导致结果203。如果重新路由选择节点确定它不能如此,则如在步骤204和205所示,节点不执行转换操作以将业务转移到备选路径,相反,它将故障通知信号发送到上游节点。从重新路由选择节点的角度而言,这导致结果206。要注意,重新路由选择节点为什么可能不能将业务转换到备选路径上的原因是形成连接到该节点的备用树的部分的链路可能有故障,或者在该链路的另一端的另一节点可能有故障。在该情形下,将根据图5中所示步骤来寻找上游的重新路由选择节点。将理解,重新路由选择节点能借助于机器可读指令来适当地配置,而无论以信号、数据结构还是软件产品的形式。
网络1有许多优点。故障恢复能够由靠近故障点的每个子树来执行,以便只有网络的最少量的组件受重新路由选择方法的影响。在影响其中保护将在局部要求高复杂度的树的节点或部分的故障情况下,故障恢复“提升”到更高层子树,在更高层子树中,能简单地通过备选路径而绕过故障。这可视为由分层组织的子树集合组成的树状基础设施。期望行为能确定性地实现,因为重新路由选择节点配置成在预定1:1方式中对故障做出反应,即,在故障情况下,业务从活动子树转换到备用子树。
以此方式,通过适当配置受保护树和受保护子树,由于重新路由选择方法,由故障造成的对E树服务的业务干扰被降到最低,并且尽可能地限于局部(或限于网络运营商认为有益的局部)。假设每个备用子树在任何故障状况之前配置,转移业务到备选路径的转换操作能够极快地发生。与要求节点在故障发生时“匆忙地”重新配置的已知局部修复方案相比,这特别有利。有利的是,网络1执行的重新路由选择方法不限于任何特定的面向连接的技术。
网络1中重新路由选择方法提供的路径保护有利地未将其应用限于任何特定的面向连接的技术。
要注意,即使在单点故障的情况下,由于物理拓扑约束,活动和备用树和子树在逻辑上保持分隔,以便不存在业务的错误转发的风险。
将理解,虽然上述网络实现多播解决方案,但网络1实现的重新路由选择业务的方法也可适用于单播情形。
Claims (16)
1.一种在跨通信网络(1)的路径上的故障(3)的情况中在所述网络中重新路由业务的方法,所述方法包括,确定位于所述故障与网络入口节点(6)之间的第一节点(4)是否能将业务转换到避免所述故障的备选路径,并且如果确定所述第一节点不具有如此能力,则确定位于所述第一节点上游的第二节点(8)是否能将业务转换到避免所述故障的备选路径。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中在所述第二节点(8)确定它不具如此能力的情况下,至少一个另外节点确定它是否能将所述业务转换到备选路径。
3.如权利要求1或2所述的方法,其中所述第一节点(4)与所述故障(3)相邻。
4.如权利要求1、2或3所述的方法,其中所述第一节点(4)确定所述故障(3)已发生。

10.如权利要求8或权利要求9所述的通信网络,其中所述至少一个重新路由选择节点(4)连接到至少三个链路(13,8,14)。
11.如权利要求8到10的任一项所述的通信网络,其中如果所述至少一个重新路由选择节点(4)确定它能将业务转换到备选路径,则所述重新路由选择节点配置成不发送故障通知信号到所述第二节点(8)。
