就采用高折射率材料涂覆透明载体材料,如二氧化硅或玻璃以提供所谓的干涉或效果颜料而言,已经提出了各种建议。
涂层的组成,以及载体材料的性质、形状和尺寸对于成本效益和得到的颜料的效能是至关重要的。
发明内容
根据本发明,其中提供了一种包括至少部分涂覆高折射率材料的玻璃片的颜料,所述玻璃片包括以下组分:
二氧化硅-50至80;
氧化铝-1至20;
氧化钛-高达20。
优选的颜料包括那些具有玻璃片的,所述玻璃片包括以下组分:
二氧化硅-65至75;
氧化铝-2至5;
氧化钛-高达5;
上述量是基于玻璃片重量的,以重量%来表示。
优选地,所述玻璃片的厚度小于5μm,更优选为小于1μm,并且最优选为20至500nm。
优选地,所述涂层的折射率为至少1.5μm,更优选为至少1.6μm,并且最优选为至少1.8μm。
本发明的玻璃片可以具有包括相对高折射率层和相对低折射率层的涂层。相对低折射率的材料可以具有例如小于1.7的折射率。该层通常的折射率应该小于相对高折射率层的折射率。
可以被用于低折射率层的材料的例子为二氧化硅和氧化铝。
用于本发明的玻璃片的平均微粒尺寸优选为1至1000μm,更优选为高达500μm,最优选为高达200μm。
用于本发明的玻璃片的纵横比优选为至少20,或更优选为至少50。高折射率材料层的厚度为至少0.1nm,优选为至少5nm,并且更优选为10至200nm。
本发明的颜料可以被用于广泛的应用中,例如,印刷油墨、汽车涂层、化妆品配方以及塑料、玻璃、陶瓷产品和建筑用膜的着色。
各种方法可以用于玻璃片的涂覆以生产本发明的颜料。这些方法包括湿法化学涂覆、物理气相沉积、化学气相沉积和化学镀。
本发明还提供了用在本发明的颜料中的玻璃片的基材。
发明详述
根据本发明的颜料包括由Glassflake Ltd制造的LAG6玻璃片,所述玻璃片具有大约210nm的平均厚度和2.2m2/g的BET。这些玻璃片已经被研磨并过筛以获得尺寸为20至100微米的玻璃片。
LAG6玻璃的组成如下(基于玻璃片的重量,以重量%计):-SiO2 69.30、TiO2 1.48、Al2O3 3.60、Fe2O3 0.15、CaO 2.10、MgO 1.22、K2O 2.00、Na2O9.44、ZrO2 0.24、B2O3 10.42、其它.05。存在的氧化铁和氧化锆是不可避免的污染物。“其它”为含量小于小数点后一位的污染元素。
采用由TiCl4溶液的沉积的氧化钛涂覆玻璃片以生产具有极佳颜色和光泽并且显示非常好的机械稳定性的平滑涂层。

Claims (12)

1.一种包括至少部分涂覆高折射率材料的玻璃片的颜料,所述玻璃片包括以下组分:
二氧化硅-50至80;
氧化铝-1至20;
氧化钛-高达20。
2.根据权利要求1所述的颜料,其中,所述玻璃片包括以下组分:
二氧化硅-65至75;
氧化铝-1至5;
氧化钛-高达5;
所述量是基于玻璃片重量的,以重量%来表示。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的颜料,其中所述玻璃片具有以下近似组成:
SiO2    69;
TiO2    1.5;
Al2O3   3.5;
CaO     2.25;
MgO     1.25;
K2O     2;
Na2O    9.5;
B2O3    10.5;
其它    0.5;
所述量是基于玻璃片重量的,以重量来表示。
4.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的颜料,其中所述玻璃片的厚度为至少5μm。
5.根据权利要求4所述的颜料,其中所述玻璃片的厚度为至少1μm。
6.根据权利要求4或5所述的颜料,其中所述玻璃片的厚度为20至500nm。
7.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的颜料,其中所述玻璃片的平均颗粒尺寸为1至1000μm。
8.根据权利要求7所述的颜料,其中所述的平均颗粒尺寸为高达500μm。
9.根据权利要求7或8所述的颜料,其中所述的平均颗粒尺寸为高达200μm。
10.一种根据权利要求1以及基本如本发明所描述的颜料。
11.一种基本如本发明所示例的颜料。
12.一种包括前述权利要求中任一项所限定的玻璃片用于颜料的基材。
