技术领域
本发明一般地涉及基于使用GUI的设备的位置并且基于试图使用GUI的一天中的时间(time of day)来动态地建立图形用户界面(GUI)。
背景技术
如这里所了解的，越来越多数目的功能正在被增加到越来越有能力的设备中，例如视频播放器、音乐播放器、个人录像机(personal videorecorder)、相机、无线电话等。通常，图形用户界面(GUI)被设置以使用户能选择用户希望调用的功能。GUI一般包括呈现在设备上并且列出了可用功能的视觉显示，用户能通过例如在所需功能上触摸画面或引导(navigate)光标来输入选择。
如这里进一步所了解的，在从中选择选项的可用模式和功能的这个大集合的情况下，使用分层菜单的GUI变得低效率。
发明内容
根据本发明原理，用户最可能尝试的使用模式和功能可被智能地预测，并且对所预测的模式/功能的快速链接可被自动显示在GUI上。
因此，一种位置感知设备(location-aware device)包括壳体、壳体中的处理器以及向处理器输入时间参数信息的壳体中的时钟。此外，位置接收器处于壳体中并且向处理器输入地理位置信息。显示器与壳体相关联。在处理器的控制下用户界面可呈现在显示器上。处理器基于来自位置接收器的信息和/或来自时钟的信息而在显示器上呈现用户界面。
在一些实施例中，作为设备位置加上设备速度、设备加速度、设备运动方向以及当前日期/时间的结果，通过激活具体功能(specific function)和/或通过显示具体的一组菜单项，用户界面被自动改变。
用户界面的改变可由设备制造商预编程或者可被上载至设备或者可由处理器基于使用模式建立。例如，如果来自位置接收器的信息指示出设备的速度至少像阈值一样快，则导航模式GUI被呈现在显示器上。作为另一示例，如果来自位置接收器的信息指示出设备的速度低于阈值，则用户界面基于与用户先前在给定的位置已执行什么操作有关的统计信息而被显示。更具体地，用户界面可与在该位置处最频繁执行的操作相关，对与次频繁操作相关的用户界面的链接被呈现在与最频繁执行的操作相关的用户界面上。如果需要的话，则用户界面可基于从时钟接收的时间参数信息。作为又一示例，如果处理器基于来自位置接收器的位置信息而检测到在特定位置(particular location)从相对高速运动到相对低速运动的转变，则当设备返回至该特定位置时导航GUI可被自动激活。
在另一方面，一种方法包括提供位置感知设备以及基于设备的地理位置来建立位置感知设备的用户界面。
在另一方面，一种装置包括接收位置信息和时间参数信息的处理器。在处理器的控制下用户界面可呈现于其上的显示器也被设置。处理器基于位置信息在显示器上呈现用户界面。

具体实施方式
图1示出可体现本发明原理的设备10。不作为限制而是仅作为示例，设备10可以是音频播放器、静态相机或摄像机、计算机、音乐播放器、个人录像机(PVR)、个人数字助理(PDA)、便携式TV、游戏机、视频播放器或者如图1具体所示的无线电话。当被配置为无线电话时，设备10可以是(不作为限制)全球移动通信系统(GSM)电话、码分多址(CDMA)电话、时分多址(TDMA)电话、频分多址(FDMA)电话、空分多址(SDMA)电话、宽带CDMA电话、正交频分复用(OFDM)电话等，并且因此包括用于根据本领域已知的原理与无线电话基站通信的无线电话收发器12。
可通过处理器14访问体现了本发明的逻辑并且存储在有形的计算机可读介质16上的数据和/或计算机指令来控制电话收发器12，有形的计算机可读介质16诸如固态存储装置、盘存储装置或其他合适的电子存储装置。在一些实施例中，设备10包括向处理器14提供输入的、诸如全球定位卫星(GPS)接收器之类的位置接收器18。设备10还可包括受处理器14控制的、诸如液晶显示器(LCD)或发光二极管(LED)显示器或其他类型的矩阵显示器之类的显示器20，以及用于向处理器14输入用户命令的、诸如电话键区之类的用户输入装置22。处理器14还可从电子时钟24访问诸如日期和时间信息之类的时间参数信息。上述部件通常被包含在便携式手持壳体26中。

现在参考图3，示出了用于使得位置感知(例如GPS)设备(例如图1所示的无线电话设备10)基于它当前的位置和/或运动以及/或者当前的日期/时间来智能地变更/配置用户界面的本发明逻辑。通过激活具体功能和/或显示具体的一组菜单项，用户界面被自动改变，作为设备的位置、速度、加速度、运动方向和当前日期/时间中的一项或多项的结果。用户界面的改变可由设备制造商预编程，可例如利用图1所示的收发器12上载至设备，或者可基于下面更详细说明的使用模式由这里所公开的设备处理器自动学习。
框48指示出使用-位置相关性被建立。最初，制造商所设置的默认相关性可被使用。实质上，注意，对于例如设备处理器基于来自设备位置接收器的信息而有规律地找到自身的特定位置，设备的特定功能或用途被用户使用。这些相关性可被设备处理器实现，或者可利用设备处理器上载至服务器的位置和使用信息而被远程地实现。
类似地，在框50建立使用-速度(以及在需要的情况下的使用-加速度)相关性，并且在框52建立一天中的时间(以及在需要的情况下的一周中的星期几(day of the week))与使用的相关性。在框54，基于这些相关性在设备的显示器上呈现GUI。
图4～图6提供了示例图示。假设用户在他的汽车中，并且设备通过在时钟24所提供的时间上观察来自位置接收器18的位置输入的改变来检测快速运动(例如比步行、奔跑和骑自行车更快)。推断高于阈值的速度指示行进，则当用户启动设备时，导航模式GUI如图4所示地被呈现。
另一方面，低于阈值的速度可能指示出用户不在运动并且因此可能在家或在工作。设备记录与用户先前在给定位置已执行什么操作有关的统计信息，并且基于此统计信息来确定应当呈现什么GUI。例如，假定在特定位置的N个(在此示例中N＝3)最经常执行的任务是：打电话[60％的时间]、调度会议[20％的时间]和查找方向[5％的时间]。在这种相关性的情况下，当用户在特定位置的阈值半径内启动设备时，设备自动进入与最可能的使用相对应的模式，在此情况下是“电话模式”，在该模式中电话GUI如图5所示地被呈现。此外，如果需要的话，同样如图5所示，GUI可包含对与特定位置相关的其他使用的快速链接，在此情况下是对“调度会议”和“查找方向”功能的链接。
以上使用情况还可包括使得日期和时间能够确定激活什么设备模式以及呈现什么菜单选项。例如，设备可确定当在星期一～星期五上午的早些时候处于静态(不运动的)位置时，用户频繁请求设备显示当前时间。因此如果此时还没有选择其他模式，则可自动显示如图6所示的“时钟”模式GUI。类似地，设备可确定当在星期日～星期四晚上的晚些时候位于静态位置时，用户频繁设置设备的闹铃。因此如果此时还没有选择其他模式，则可自动显示辅助设置闹铃的GUI。
返回至使用-速度相关性，在设备检测到在特定位置从高速运动(例如驾驶汽车)到低速运动(例如步行)的转变的情况下，在用户过去将他的汽车停放在该位置并且下次他返回至该位置想必是驾车离开时将会需要导航帮助的推断之下，下次用户返回至同一位置时“导航模式”可自动被激活。
虽然这里详细示出并且描述了特定的“基于设备位置和/或日期/时间来动态地改变用户界面”，但是将会理解的是本发明所包括的主题仅由权利要求限制。

Claims (20)

1.一种位置感知设备，包括：
壳体；
在所述壳体中的处理器；
在所述壳体中并且向所述处理器输入时间参数信息的时钟；
在所述壳体中并且向所述处理器输入地理位置信息的位置接收器；以及
与所述壳体相关联并且在所述处理器的控制下可于其上呈现用户界面的显示器，其中
所述处理器至少部分地基于以下各项中的一项或多项来在所述显示器上呈现所述用户界面：来自所述位置接收器的信息、来自所述时钟的信息。
2.根据权利要求1所述的设备，其中作为设备位置加上设备速度、设备加速度、设备运动方向以及当前日期/时间的结果，通过激活具体功能和/或通过显示具体的一组菜单项，所述用户界面被自动改变。
3.根据权利要求1所述的设备，其中用户界面的改变由设备制造商预编程。
4.根据权利要求1所述的设备，其中用户界面的改变被上载至所述设备。
5.根据权利要求1所述的设备，其中用户界面的改变是由所述处理器基于使用模式建立的。
6.根据权利要求1所述的设备，其中如果来自所述位置接收器的信息指示出所述设备的速度至少像阈值一样快，则导航模式用户界面被呈现在所述显示器上。
7.根据权利要求1所述的设备，其中如果来自所述位置接收器的信息指示出所述设备的速度低于阈值，则所述用户界面基于与用户先前在给定的位置已执行什么操作有关的统计信息而被显示。
8.根据权利要求7所述的设备，其中所述用户界面与在所述位置处最频繁执行的操作相关，对与至少一个次频繁的操作相关的用户界面的链接被呈现在与最频繁执行的操作相关的用户界面上。
9.根据权利要求7所述的设备，其中所述用户界面还基于从所述时钟接收的时间参数信息。
10.根据权利要求6所述的设备，其中如果所述处理器基于来自所述位置接收器的位置信息而检测到在特定位置从相对高速运动到相对低速运动的转变，则当所述设备返回至所述特定位置时导航用户界面被自动激活。
11.一种方法，包括：
提供位置感知设备；以及
基于所述设备的地理位置来建立所述位置感知设备的用户界面。
12.根据权利要求11所述的方法，其中所述用户界面还基于所述设备的运动。
13.根据权利要求11所述的方法，其中所述用户界面还基于时间参数信息。
14.一种装置，包括：
接收位置信息和时间参数信息的处理器；
与所述处理器相关联的显示器，在所述处理器的控制下可在所述显示器上呈现用户界面，其中
所述处理器基于所述位置信息在所述显示器上呈现用户界面。
15.根据权利要求14所述的装置，其中所述用户界面基于所述时间参数信息。
16.根据权利要求14所述的装置，其中用户界面的改变由设备制造商预编程。
17.根据权利要求14所述的装置，其中用户界面的改变被上载至所述装置。
18.根据权利要求14所述的装置，其中用户界面的改变是由所述处理器基于使用模式建立的。
19.根据权利要求14所述的装置，其中如果来自位置接收器的信息指示出所述装置的速度至少像阈值一样快，则导航模式用户界面被呈现在所述显示器上。
20.根据权利要求19所述的装置，其中所述用户界面基于与用户先前在给定的位置已执行什么操作有关的统计信息而被显示。
