Abstract

技术领域
本发明涉及电话,更具体而言,涉及电话系统中的特征。
背景技术
现代电话,具体而言VoIP电话,一般维护示出不同种类呼叫的多个列表。例如,电话可以维护“未接呼叫”列表、“已接呼叫”列表、“外出呼叫”列表等等。
典型的电话用户接收很多不同种类的电话呼叫。典型用户接收的所有电话呼叫不具有相同的重要性。某些电话呼叫仅仅提供信息,并且这些消息不需要后续动作。其他消息需要某种后续动作。在某些情况下,后续动作涉及“回叫”呼叫方。在其他情况下,需要其他种类的动作。
为了有效地利用现代电话提供的很多特征,希望电话能够提供更多关于呼叫列表中的呼叫的信息而不是仅仅提供电话号码。例如,希望主叫方能够指示特定呼叫是特别重要的。
发明内容
本发明提供了一种用于分类电话呼叫并用于提供关于显示在呼叫列表中的呼叫的信息的机制。根据本发明,各种标志可以被添加到呼叫列表上示出的呼叫。此外,当呼叫列表中的呼叫被选择时,可以启动各种动作。因此,本发明用于提供指示和提供动作。
呼叫可以通过按下电话机上的特定键被分类。当呼叫列表上的条目被加亮(以传统方式)时,按下一个特定键将标志添加到呼叫列表上的该条目,以指示需要追随动作。按下第二键启动诸如向呼叫附加提醒之类的动作,从而使得用户随后将被提醒采取动作。按下第三键将提供用于提供关于呼叫的信息的文本消息气球框。
主叫方或被叫方可以添加指示符到出现在被叫方的未接呼叫列表中的呼叫。此外,主叫方或被叫方可以将文本消息与呼叫相关联。

具体实施方式
现在将参考附图来描述本发明的若干优选实施例。本发明的各种其他实施例也是可能的并且可实现的。本发明可以被体现为很多不同的形式,并且本发明不应被理解为局限于这里提出的实施例。
以上列出的附图示出本发明的优选实施例以及这些实施例的操作。在附图中,方框的大小不意味着代表各个物理组件的大小。每个特定标号被用来指示多张附图中的相同元件。
各个单元中只有那些本领域技术人员理解实施例所需的部分被示出和描述。未示出的那些部分和元件是传统的并且本领域公知的。
本发明可以按很多不同种类的电话系统来实现。下述第一特定实施例涉及IP电话(VoIP)系统。但是,应该理解,本发明可以按几乎任意种类的电话系统来实现。
因此,虽然下述特定实施例涉及VoIP系统,但是本发明并不局限于使用VoIP系统。本发明在所有种类的电话系统中都是有用的,包括蜂窝系统和普通老式电话系统(POTS系统)。
图1示出被应用到VoIP电话系统的本发明第一实施例的总体图。如图1所示,系统包括两个端点101和105,它们分别连接到IP-PBX 102和104。IP-PBX 102和104进而经由广域网103互连,广域网103例如可以是因特网。在图1中,为了便于图示,只示出一个IP电话,但是,注意,通常有相对大量IP电话被连接到IP-PBX。这里,为了便于图示和描述,只示出一个电话。
图2更详细地示出端点101和IP-PBX 102。端点101包括IP电话机201。电话机201包括传统的键盘221和传统的显示屏220。显示屏220显示软键和呼叫列表。软键由IP-PBX 102中的软键管理软件225管理。软键管理软件225是传统的;但是,由软键提供的特定功能不是传统的。
电话机201包括存储器232、程序233和嵌入式处理器234。处理器234可以执行程序233。电话机201还包括传统的电话机电路和程序。这些传统电路和程序这里不描述。只有与本发明的实施例相关的程序和存储器将被描述。IP-PBX 102包括呼叫处理软件226,其处理在电话机201上发出的呼叫的建立过程。呼叫处理软件除了这里描述的附加特征之外是传统的。
图3示出存储在电话机201中的两张呼叫列表。由标号301指示的第一列表是未接呼叫列表,其示出已经错过的呼叫。由302指示的第二列表是外出呼叫列表,其示出已经从该特定电话发出的呼叫。列表301和302仅仅表示可以存在于电话机中的各种呼叫列表的代表。还可能存在各种其他列表,例如“已接呼叫列表”。
如图3所示,未接呼叫列表301和外出呼叫列表302在特定号码旁边具有多个不同的符号。这些符号已经按将要说明的方式由被叫方或主叫方添加到各个号码的旁边。应该注意,所示符号仅仅是示例性符号,各种类似符号或指示符可被用于实现同样的总体目的。
符号303和305是旗子,其指示这两个呼叫特别重要。两个旗子具有不同的形状。符号303指示该呼叫已经被被叫方“添加了旗子”。符号305指示该呼叫已经被主叫方“添加了旗子”。
符号306指示存在与该呼叫相关的文本消息。如何输入和显示该消息随后将说明。符号308和309指示已经向这些消息添加了提醒。就是说,在某一随后时刻,振铃将响起以提醒用户需要某种动作。符号308指示已经由主叫方添加了提醒。符号309指示已经由被叫方添加了提醒。
图5示出当用户选择具有指示符306的呼叫时会发生什么情况。图5中围绕号码的虚线框指示该特定条目已通过传统方式被选择和加亮。一般而言,这是通过使用滚动键(scrolling key)来实现的。
当具有指示符306的条目被选择时,先前由被叫方或主叫方输入的文本信息显示在所选号码旁边的气球框中,如图5所示。
图4示出显示屏220上的软键。注意,显示屏220还可以具有图4未示出的其他软键。用户可以按下图4所示软键,以便在特定电话号码旁边添加图标。这样的显示屏将以显示特定号码的列表的形式显示在主叫方和被叫方两者的电话机上。例如,号码可以出现在主叫方的被叫列表中以及被叫方的未接呼叫列表中。
图4中由401指示的键允许用户在呼叫列表上的呼叫旁边添加紧急指示符。如果该键被被叫方按下,则诸如图3所示图标303之类的图标将被添加到呼叫。被叫方需要加亮呼叫列表中的号码,然后按下该键,以便添加图标。如果该键被主叫方在主叫方的电话机上按下,则图标305将被添加到被叫方的未接呼叫列表上的号码旁边。图标还将被添加到主叫方的“外出呼叫列表”上的号码旁边。
如果主叫方或被叫方在呼叫期间按下键402,则将向呼叫添加提醒。如果主叫方添加提醒,则图标将表现为图标308,如果被叫方添加提醒,则图标将表现为图标309。为了添加提醒,用户按下键402,然后在键盘221上输入号码。当在键盘上输入的分钟数过去之后,将发出提醒音调。
如果主叫方或被叫方在呼叫期间按下键403,则将向列出被叫号码的条目添加注释图标306。该方需要按下键403,然后使用键盘221输入文本注释。当具有注释图标306的条目被加亮并且键404被按下时,输入的文本注释将被显示,如图5所示。
由于利用键盘输入文本可能很麻烦,因此在替换实施例中,文本消息可以利用传统的个人计算机(PC)来输入。利用PC输入的消息可以利用计算机电话接口(CTI)被附接到附叫。
在另一实施例中,PC本身可以充当电话设备。充当电话的PC是商业上可获得的并且一般被称为“软电话”。例如,Cisco Systems公司销售的这种被称为“IP通信器(IP communicator)”的设备。利用这种软电话,文本消息可以利用各种图形用户界面被附接到出现在呼叫列表中的呼叫。
在IP-PBX 12A中的呼叫处理软件例如可以是Cisco Systems公司销售的文字上称为Cisco CallManager的程序。存在如下公共可获得的参考书:题为“Cisco CallManager Fundamentals:A Cisco AVVID Solution”,作者John Alexander、Chris Pearce、Anne Smith和Delon Whetten,由Cisco Press出版,ISBN:1587050080,2001年7月。以上参考书描述了Cisco CallManager程序。
呼叫处理软件在其上操作的服务器例如可以是诸如Cisco Systems公司商业上销售的中央汇聚服务器(MCS)模块7815-1000、7825-1133或7835-1266之类的服务器。
图标可以由被叫方或主叫方放置在被叫方的电话机上列出的呼叫旁边。通过按下键401到405生成的信号和在主叫方的电话机上输入的任何文本消息通过设置电话呼叫的协议被发送到被叫方的电话机。例如,如果使用SIP协议,该信息可以通过SIP协议来发送。SIP协议在多种公共可获得的文档中有所描述,包括题为“Engineering task Force’s Request forComments 3261”的文档。该文档据此通过引用被结合于此。该文档可以从“The Internet Engineering Task Force”的网站(在RFC标题页和编号3261下面)获得。
如果使用SIP协议,则修改呼叫建立机制以发送所需标志(提醒/追随(follow up))或文本信息到被叫方设备。例如,在SIP协议的情况下,SIP INVITE消息可被用于包括该新信息以容纳标志和/或文本消息,作为INVITE消息的一部分。可替换地,可以定义新头部,该新头部例如可以被称为“标志(Flags)”,其具有令牌。一种新令牌可以是“加标志的(flagged)”令牌。因此,SIP消息将是:

使用SIP协议,在主叫方的电话和被叫方的电话中的列表上的信息可以被同步。根据本发明,可以使用事件包(event package)来同步关于在主叫方和被叫方的电话上哪些呼叫已经被加标志的信息。
类似地,在诸如被称为“瘦小客户端控制协议”(SCCP)的协议或被称为H.323的ITU-T协议之类的其他协议中,相应的建立和警告消息将被修改以实现相同的行为。这些改变将在使用这些协议的系统中,例如在呼叫管理器(Call Manager)程序和IP电话机中。
注意,在电话机201中的程序233捕获操作员输入的键击并启动适当的动作。程序233还包括计时器,被设置用于按照提醒图标的要求响铃提醒。
注意,虽然这里描述的特定实施例包括Cisco Systems公司商业上销售的服务器和呼叫处理软件,但是各种其他服务器和呼叫处理软件系统也是商业上可获得的。本发明的其他实施例可以利用各种其他呼叫处理软件系统。

Claims (6)
1.一种在包括具有主叫方电话机的主叫方和具有被叫方电话机的被叫方的电话系统中的方法,该方法包括以下步骤:
在所述电话机中的至少一个上显示代表电话呼叫的电话号码列表;
加亮所述列表中的电话号码之一;以及
按下用户激活设备以在所述加亮的电话号码旁边放置图标,以指示所述电话号码需要特殊关注;
其中所述图标被被叫方或主叫方放置在所述电话号码旁边,按下所述用户激活设备生成的信号通过设置电话呼叫的协议被发送到对方的电话机。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,还包括按下所述用户激活设备来删除所述图标。
3.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述图标指示文本注释已被一方输入并且与所述加亮的电话号码相关联。
4.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述图标指示警告提醒已经与所述加亮的电话号码相关联。
5.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述电话系统包括键盘,并且文本消息在所述用户激活设备被按下之后被输入到所述键盘,以便将文本消息与所述加亮的电话号码相关联并显示所述文本消息。
6.一种在显示与电话呼叫相关的电话号码列表的电话机中的方法,所述电话机包括用户激活设备和键盘,所述方法包括:
加亮所述电话号码列表中的电话号码之一;
激活用户激活设备以指示存在与所述被加亮的电话号码相关联的文本消息;
从所述键盘接收文本消息以与所述加亮的电话号码相关联;以及
提供文本消息气球框以显示与所述加亮的电话号码相关联的文本消息,
其中所述文本消息可以由所述被叫方或所述主叫方输入,所述文本信息通过设置电话呼叫的协议被发送到对方的电话机。
