Description
发明背景
本申请涉及结合有体全息图的模塑制品,特别是为安全和鉴别目的将体全息图并入到制品的模塑结构或者作为在其表面上的涂层。
全息图正成为用于品牌保护和用于鉴别正品的日益通用构件。为该目的使用全息图主要是受它们比较难于被复制所驱使。全息图通过如下方式产生:使两束相干光束干涉产生干涉图案,然后将该图案存储于全息记录介质中。通过在它们的干涉之前向两个相干光束之一赋予数据或图像,可以在全息图中存储信息或图像。通过用与产生全息图的两个原始光束中之一匹配的光束照射该全息图,可以读出该全息图,且将显示存储于全息图中的任何数据或图像。由于记录全息图的方法复杂,可以在诸如信用卡、软件和服装的制品上发现它们用于鉴别的用途。
全息图已知有两种不同类型的结构:表面浮雕结构和体全息图。用于安全或鉴别应用的许多全息图是表面浮雕类型,其中图案和所含有的任何数据或图像存储于结构或向记录介质的表面给予的变形中。结果,通过两束相干光束的干涉可以产生原始记录的全息图,但是通过使用诸如压纹(embossing)的技术复制表面结构,可以产生复制品。全息图的复制对于诸如信用卡或安全标签的制品的大规模生产是便利的,但是也具有这样的缺点:可能从原始的唯一的相同构件,产生未经授权的复制和/或改变这些全息图用于假冒部件。
与面全息图不同,体全息图形成在记录介质的本体中。体全息图具有被多路复用(multiplex)的能力,在体记录材料内以不同深度和不同的角度存储信息,因而具有存储更大的信息量的能力。此外,由于编排全息图的图案是嵌入的,不能使用与用于表面浮雕全息图的相同技术来进行复制。
美国专利申请US2005/0248817Al(名称为"Covert Hologram Design,Fabrication,and Optical Reconstruction For Security Applications,")描述了使用用于安全应用的隐秘全息图构建制品的方法。根据该专利申请,该制品是多层的层压材料,其中一层或多层是由光聚合物材料构成的全息记录介质,另一层为保护层。全息记录介质使得体全息图含有以将要记录的二维页面格式形成的数字数据。含有数字数据的体全息图对于肉眼是不可见的,因为用于读取数据的光是肉眼不可见的波长,或者因为全息图的衍射效率足够低,以至于含有数字数据的衍射光的强度不足以被人眼所察觉。该制品也可以含有同时可见和不可见(或隐秘)的全息图,数字数据是可机读的。此外,全息记录层可以含有多重全息图。如该申请所述,用于含有全息图的制品的鉴别体系包含复杂的插入光学系统(complex intervening opticalsystem),例如包含多个光学元件的球形无焦点望远镜系统。
发明简述
本发明提供将体全息图用于确认真实性和其它安全应用的较为简单的方法,该方法不需要特殊的读取系统,并且不需要计算机化的读出装置的帮助就可以进行评价。根据本发明的第一实施方式,通过将全息记录材料模塑为由制品的功能决定的形状来形成模塑制品,并在模塑制品上形成体全息图。在本发明的第二实施方式中,仅仅模塑制品的一部分由全息记录介质形成。根据本发明的第三实施方式,通过将热塑性材料模塑为由制品的功能所决定的形状来形成模塑制品,然后用全息记录介质通过例如浸涂涂布该制品,在模塑制品的涂层上形成体全息图。在本发明的第四实施方式中,仅仅模塑制品的一部分涂布有全息记录介质。
在上述四种实施方式的每一个中,当适当询问以显示图像时,所述全息图是显示可直接为人眼判读的图像的全息图。因此,全息图并不仅仅显示需要机器读取系统的数字数据,以有效地解释所存储信息的内容和含义。相反地,全息图提供图像,例如图片的图像,或者以标准混合符号(alphanumeric)格式如序列号存在的信息的图像。
在本发明的一些实施方式中,所述全息图是在没有询问光束时不可见的隐秘全息图。在其它实施方式中,全息图在靠近记录材料的本体的表面处形成,且对肉眼可见。
在本发明的一些实施方式中,全息图包括相位编码的加密图像,或者同时包含加密的和未加密的图像。
在一些实施方式中,显示全息图的角容限(angular tolerance)高,使得可以使用手持激光器(例如激光笔(laser pointer))且可以手动对准以在设备外读取全息图。

发明详述
本发明涉及具有由制品的功能所决定的形状的模塑制品。通常,模塑制品可以为由可模塑的聚合物材料(例如聚碳酸酯、聚酯等)制成的任何物质,其中期望提供确认制品的真实性。作为非限制性的实例,这些模塑制品可以为通信设备如收音机、移动电话等的外壳,电子装置如测试装置、音乐播放器和录音机等的外壳。鉴别也可以扩展到介质盘片自身(例如CD、DVD等)、眼镜(eyewear)(例如太阳镜)的框架和用于商标/标识标签的塑料组件,或者更隐秘地如在物品诸如钱包或鞋的拉链或挂钩(clasp)上。
本发明的制品至少部分由全息记录介质形成或者至少部分涂布有全息记录介质,其中在该全息记录介质上可以形成体全息图。图1A显示移动电话外壳,其中整个模塑外壳由全息记录介质10形成。图1B显示移动电话外壳,其中外壳涂布有全息记录介质10。
用于本发明的一种类型的适宜全息记录介质为染料掺杂的热塑性全息材料。用于存储数字数据的该类型的材料记载于共同转让的美国专利公开US2005/0136333,2006/0078802和20060073392中,将其全部并入本申请作为参考。
在一些实施方式中,全息记录介质包括基板和具有窄带光学性能的染料物质,可根据几个重要特性来选择和利用,这些特性包括:通过照射光改变染料物质的折射率的能力;光产生该变化的效能;染料的最大吸收和期望波长或用于写入和/或读取图像的波长之间的间隔。用于该实施方式的全息存储介质的基板可以包括具有足够光学性能(例如低散射、低双折射和在所需波长的可忽略损失)的任何材料,以使得全息存储介质中的数据可读。通常,展示这些性能的任何塑料可以用作基板。但是,这些塑料应该能够耐受加工参数(例如,包含染料以及涂覆任何涂层或后继各层,以及模塑为最终形式)和后继的存储条件。可用的塑料包括玻璃化转变温度为约100℃或更高(优选约150℃或更高)的热塑性材料。在一些实施方式中,塑料材料的玻璃化转变温度高于约200℃,例如聚醚酰亚胺、聚酰亚胺、包含至少一种前述塑料的组合,以及其它。这些塑料材料的一些可用实例包括但不限于无定形和半结晶热塑性材料和共混物,例如:聚碳酸酯、聚醚酰亚胺、聚氯乙烯、聚烯烃(包括但不限于线性和环状聚烯烃,包括聚乙烯、氯化聚乙烯、聚丙烯等)、聚酯、聚酰胺、聚砜(包括但不限于氢化聚砜等)、聚酰亚胺、聚醚砜、ABS树脂、聚苯乙烯(包括但不限于氢化聚苯乙烯、间规和无规聚乙烯、聚环己基乙烯、苯乙烯-共聚-丙烯腈、苯乙烯-共聚-马来酸酐等)、聚丁二烯、聚丙烯酸酯(包括但不限于聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯(PMMA)、甲基丙烯酸甲酯-聚酰亚胺共聚物等)、聚丙烯腈、聚缩醛、聚苯醚(包括但不限于来源于2,6-二甲基苯酚的那些以及与2,3,6-三甲基苯酚的共聚物,等等)、乙烯-乙酸乙烯酯共聚物、聚乙酸乙烯酯、乙烯-四氟乙烯共聚物、芳族聚酯、聚氟乙烯、聚偏二氟乙烯和聚偏二氯乙烯。
用于本发明的该实施方式的染料物质为适宜的有机染料,其通过照射一定的“写入”波长的光进行不可逆化学变化,消除染料所显示的吸收带。由光化学活性的窄带染料与具有“写入”波长的光之间的相互作用所产生的光产物通常显示出的吸收光谱与染料照射之前所显示的吸收光谱完全不同。由与写入波长的光的相互作用所产生的染料不可逆化学变化产生染料的分子结构的相应变化,从而产生“光产物”,可以是分离型(cleavage-type)光产物或重排型(rearrangement type)光产物。染料分子结构的变化以及同时发生的光产物的光吸收性能的变化(相对于起始窄带染料)在基板内产生显著的折射率变化,其中该折射率变化可以为单独的“读取”波长所观测到。根据本公开内容使用的窄带染料材料也由于振子强度(oscillator strength)的守恒而倾向于具有强光学特性,即,因为吸收位于窄的光谱区域,由于曲线下的面积(振子强度)恒定因而吸收量较强。这些染料的具体实例为硝基茋和硝基茋衍生物例如4-二甲基氨基-2′,4′-二硝基茋、4-二甲基氨基-4′-氰基-2′-硝基茋、4-羟基-2′,4′-二硝基茋和4-甲氧基-2′,4′-二硝基茋。这些染料已经合成,且在反应物和产物的化学性质以及它们的活化能和熵因子的文献中,已经研究了这些染料的光学诱导的重排。参见,J.S.Splitter和M.Calvin,"ThePhotochemical Behavior of Some o-nitrostilbenes,"J.Org.Chem.,第20卷,第1086页(1955)。最近的工作集中于使用由这些光学诱导的变化所产生的折射率调制,以写入波导(waveguide)到掺杂有染料的聚合物之中。参见,McCulloch,I.A.,"Novel Photoactive Nonlinear Optical Polymers for Use inOptical Waveguides,"Macromolecules,第27卷,第1697页(1994)。

光敏剂适宜地为可光活化的氧化剂、单光子光敏剂、双光子光敏剂、三光子光敏剂、多光子光敏剂、酸性光敏剂、碱性光敏剂、盐、染料、自由基光敏剂、阳离子类光敏剂,或包含至少一种前述光敏剂的组合。作为非限制性实例,光敏剂可以为六芳基二咪唑化合物、半导体纳米粒子、含卤化合物(其有效产生第一卤素作为自由基的键裂解能不小于约40千卡/摩尔)、磺酰基卤化物、R-SO2-X(其中R选自烷基、链烯基、环烷基、芳基、烷芳基和芳烷基,X为氯或溴)、式R-S-X′的亚氧硫基卤化物(其中R和X′的含义与R和X相同)、四芳基酰肼、苯并噻唑二硫化物、聚甲基丙烯醛、烷叉2,5-环己二烯-1-酮、偶氮苄基(azobenzyl)、亚硝基、烷基(T1)、过氧化物、卤代胺,或含有至少一种前述光敏剂的组合。光敏剂也可以是苯乙酮、二苯甲酮、芳基乙二醛、酰基膦氧化物、苯偶姻醚、苯偶酰缩酮(benzil ketal)、噻吨酮、氯代烷基三嗪、双咪唑、三酰基咪唑、吡喃鎓化合物、锍盐、碘鎓盐、巯基化合物、醌、偶氮化合物、有机过氧化物,或含有至少一种前述光敏剂的组合。
有机粘合剂适宜地为热塑性聚合物、热固性聚合物,或者热塑性聚合物与热固性聚合物的组合。例如,有机粘合剂可以包括聚丙烯酸酯、聚甲基丙烯酸酯、聚酯、聚烯烃、聚碳酸酯、聚苯乙烯、聚酰胺酰亚胺、聚芳酯、聚芳基砜、聚醚砜、聚苯硫醚、聚砜、聚酰亚胺、聚醚酰亚胺、聚醚酮、聚醚醚酮、聚醚酮酮、聚硅氧烷、聚氨酯、聚醚、聚醚酰胺,或聚醚酯,或其组合。有机粘合剂也可以包括热固性聚合物,例如环氧树脂、酚醛树脂、聚硅氧烷、聚酯、聚氨酯、聚酰胺、聚丙烯酸酯、聚甲基丙烯酸酯,或包含至少一种前述热固性聚合物的组合。全息记录介质也可以是光色化合物与上述可模塑或可固化粘合剂的组合。光色染料的非限制性实例为二芳基乙烯(diarylethene)、硝酮或其组合。具体的二芳基乙烯包括但不限于二芳基全氟环戊烯、二芳基马来酸酐、二芳基马来酰亚胺。具体的硝酮包括但不限于α-(4-二乙基氨基苯基)-N-苯基硝酮;α-(4-二乙基氨基苯基)-N-(4-氯苯基)-硝酮,α-(4-二乙基氨基苯基)-N-(3,4-二氯苯基)-硝酮,α-(4-二乙基氨基苯基)-N-(4-乙酯基苯基)-硝酮,α-(4-二乙基氨基苯基)-N-(4-乙酰基苯基)-硝酮,α-(4-二甲基氨基苯基)-N-(4-氰基苯基)-硝酮,α-(4-甲氧基苯基)-N-(4-氰基苯基)硝酮,α-(9-久洛尼定基)-N-苯基硝酮(α-(9-julolidinyl)-N-phenylnitrone),α-(9-久洛尼定基)-N-(4-氯苯基)硝酮,α-[2-(1,1-二苯基乙烯基)]-N-苯基硝酮,α-[2-(1-苯基丙烯基)]-N-苯基硝酮,等等,或者包含至少一种前述硝酮的组合。
在本发明的模塑制品中,体全息图形成在全息记录介质上。该体全息图当以有效的询问光束询问时显示可直接为人眼判读的图像。本申请使用的术语“可直接为人眼判读的”是指全息图具有诸如图片或混合符号文本或其它分组或易于区别的符号的图像,与不借助于读取机器/计算机就不能实际地识别的数据显示相反。术语“以有效的询问光束询问”是指以使图像显示的角度根据记录全息图所用的波长采用合适波长的激光束,且当图像是相位编码时使用合适相位的光束。
图2以透射几何关系显示移动电话外壳中用于记录全息图像的构造。激光器21向分光器22提供相干辐射束,该分光器22将光束分束,将其导向反射镜23和空间光调制器24,空间光调制器使光束改向到诸如模塑制品25的靶标,用于记录全息图。如果期望相位编码的加密全息图,可以在分光器22之后将任选的相位掩膜26插入于参考光束中。以反射镜27表示的其它光学组件可以插入于光路之中,以将其以所期望的方式导向,但是并不是必需的。如本领域已知的,空间光调制器24使将要赋予到全息图的图像施加到从该表面反射的光束上。
图3显示与图2类似的全息记录系统,但是其构造为使得用反射几何关系而不是用透射几何关系形成全息图。图3的标号与图2相同。
根据本申请,可以期望具有肉眼不可见或肉眼可见的全息图像,或者对于图像提供可见的和不可见元件两者的组合。这通常通过材料的厚度来控制。布拉格去谐曲线(参见图8的方程)决定体全息图的角度(和波长)容限。为了形成更易于肉眼可见的全息图,全息图需要较薄使得它响应较宽范围的波长和角度的光。图8中的图形显示,对于三个不同的厚度:1.5mm、0.25mm、和0.05mm,使用在90度(如图6所示)相互作用的两束光所记录的体全息图的计算角容限。
全息图的厚度可以经由很多方法控制。图4A和B显示在涂布部件和模塑部件中控制全息图厚度的方法。如图4A所示,如在全息记录材料的涂层中,当全息材料具有规定的厚度,全息图的最大厚度由层厚所限定,但是光束可以在更大的厚度重叠。相反地,在体全息图形成在较厚的材料(例如由全息记录介质形成的模塑制品)中,可以通过改进记录条件以限制记录光束的重叠来控制厚度。例如,可以控制两个聚焦光束的重叠,以在如图4B所示的所需的厚度上进行记录。
当全息图是不可见时,图像将仅当以合适光束询问全息图时适当地显示,所述合适光束在波长、入射角和相位交替方面与参考光束匹配(如果有的话)。为了便于全息图的读取而不需要昂贵的额外设备,期望使参考光束的波长与普通市售手持激光笔如HeNe红色激光笔相匹配。此外,期望以显示的角容限最大化的方式记录全息图,使得不需要使用特殊的对准工具(alignment tool)。如上所述,这通过控制全息图的厚度而实现。为了便于使用手持激光笔,期望角容限(入射角可以偏离实际记录角度且仍然产生图像的角度)为至少0.5度。如图8所示,当全息图的厚度约为0.1mm时可以获得这种角容限。0.05mm的全息图厚度产生大于+/-1度(零-至-零,null-to-null)的角容限。
附加到本发明的模塑制品上的全息图的具体内容根据使用者的需求而定,条件是在本发明的制品中,该内容总是包括当合适询问以显示图像时可直接为人眼判读的图像。除了该图像之外,全息图还可以包括数字数据,或多重图像。
如图5B所示,本发明的模塑制品当适当询问时可以显示混合符号识别符(alphanumeric identifier)的图像。在图5B中,图像是序列号,不过其它类型的识别符或信息也可以包括在混合符号格式中,例如批号、部件数量或工艺条件。
在图5B中,图像是仅当合适的相位掩膜贴于激光笔时才显示的图像,从而是相位编码或加密读出的图像。在这种情况中,全息记录也可以提供未加密读出,其不含有其中任一可以用于证实真实性的信息(产生衍射框(diffracted box))或不同的图像,如图5A所示。通过在参考光束或物光束(o bject beam)中插入相位掩膜,可以实现相位编码,如美国专利6,002,773和6,744,909以及美国专利公开20040101168所描述的,将它们并入本申请作为参考。
本发明还提供制备结合有体全息图的模塑制品的方法。该方法包括下列步骤:(a)南全息记录介质模塑而成制品,和(b)在模塑制品上写入体全息图,其中所述体全息图当以有效的询问光束询问时显示可直接为人眼判读的图像。制品的模塑可以采用本领域已知的各种模塑方法中的任一种来进行,包括但不限于注塑。
本发明还提供制备结合有体全息图的模塑制品的方法,包括下列步骤:(a)由热塑性材料模塑而成制品,(b)以全息记录介质涂布模塑制品,以及(c)在全息记录介质涂层上写入体全息图,其中所述体全息图当以有效的询问光束询问时显示可直接为人眼判读的图像。涂布工艺可以是任何方法,包括例如喷涂或浸涂,只要它在基底模塑制品上提供可再生产的涂层厚度。
实施例
作为本发明的实施例,由全息记录材料模塑而成直径120mm、厚度1.22mm的盘片60,其具有光学性能的正面和背面。该材料为含有约1wt%的下式所示的扩展-CEM-388硝酮染料(extended-CEM-388 nitrone dye)的光学性能的聚苯乙烯:
将盘片60置于图6所示的记录系统的样品位置。使用二极管抽运固态(DPSS)、单纵模(SLM)、内腔倍频的Nd:YAG激光器61作为光源,在532nm产生至多300mW的相干激光。激光光源所产生的光束输出的光束直径约0.8mm,使用束扩展望远镜62将光束直径增加到约8mm。使用机械快门63控制记录曝光时间。然后使扩展束穿过半波片64和偏振分光器65以控制进入到记录装置之中的光的能量水平,使用灰滤光器66提供离散因子10(discrete factor)时能量水平的快速调整。然后使用第二半波片64′和偏振分光器65′将进入的光束分为等能量的两束光。在参考光路中使用另一半波片64"以调节参考光束的偏振使其等于信号光束。将标识的负片放大掩膜(在该情形中具有透明标识的暗场)67以对激光束法向入射的方式置于信号光束上,且尽可能地接近盘片60。使用反射镜68将光束导向各个光学组件之间。
以相对于盘片45度的角度将信号光束和参考光束射入到盘片60之中。调整光线的能量水平使得信号光束和参考光束的能量均为14mW。然后打开快门63使盘片暴露于记录光12-15秒。为了进行评价,使用产生1-3mW的633nm激光的红色HeNe激光器69测量所记录的全息图的效率。在所描述的记录条件下,获得衍射效率为12%-15%的全息图。然后在盘片上标示全息图的位置,将盘片从记录系统中取出。
为读出标识全息图,使用第二系统。读出或鉴别系统如图7所示。在该系统中,使用产生5mW的650nm激光的电池供电的激光笔作为光源。将要鉴别的盘片置于样品支架上,该样品支架位于旋转台(rotation stage)上,对准激光笔使得激光束入射到在记录过程期间事先标记的全息图位置上。使用旋转台将盘片对准到合适的角度,以读出全息图。当适当对准和以激光笔照射时,真实的盘片在盘片与激光笔相对的一侧之外产生一般的电子标志图像。该标志图像的直径约3mm。可以紧跟着在将要鉴别的盘片之后设置单个任选的成像透镜以使该标志图像更易于为肉眼可见。从该盘片上观察到标志图像表示是真实的盘片。
Claims (28)
1.一种模塑制品,其具有由该制品的功能所决定的形状,其中所述制品至少部分由全息记录介质形成或者至少部分涂布有全息记录介质,其中:
(a)体全息图形成于该全息记录介质中,和
(b)所述体全息图当以有效的询问光束询问时显示可直接为人眼判读的图像。
2.权利要求1的模塑制品,其中所述体全息图包含混合符号识别符的图像。
3.权利要求2的模塑制品,其中所述混合符号识别符的图像在没有有效的询问光束时是不可见的。
4.权利要求3的模塑制品,其中所述混合符号识别符的图像是相位编码的加密图像。
5.权利要求1的模塑制品,其中所述图像在没有有效的询问光束时是不可见的。
6.权利要求5的模塑制品,其中所述图像是相位编码的加密图像。
7.权利要求6的模塑制品,其还包含未加密的图像。
8.权利要求7的模塑制品,其中所述未加密的图像在没有有效的询问光束时是不可见的。
9.权利要求1的模塑制品,其中显示全息图的角容限为至少0.5度。
10.权利要求9的模塑制品,其中所述体全息图包含混合符号识别符的图像。
11.权利要求10的模塑制品,其中所述混合符号识别符的图像在没有有效的询问光束时是不可见的。
12.权利要求11的模塑制品,其中所述混合符号识别符的图像是相位编码的加密图像。

21.制备结合有体全息图的模塑制品的方法,包括下列步骤:
(a)由全息记录介质模塑而成制品,和
(b)在该模塑制品上写入体全息图,其中所述体全息图当以有效的询问光束询问时显示可直接为人眼判读的图像。
22.权利要求21的方法,其中所述体全息图包含混合符号识别符的图像。
23.权利要求22的方法,其中所述混合符号识别符的图像在没有有效的询问光束时是不可见的。
24.权利要求23的方法,其中所述混合符号识别符的图像是相位编码的加密图像。
25.制备结合有体全息图的模塑制品的方法,包括下列步骤:
(a)由热塑性材料模塑而成制品,
(b)以全息记录介质涂布该模塑制品,以及
(c)在该全息记录介质涂层上写入体全息图,其中所述体全息图当以有效的询问光束询问时显示可直接为人眼判读的图像。
26.权利要求25的方法,其中所述体全息图包含混合符号识别符。
27.权利要求26的方法,其中所述混合符号识别符的图像在没有有效的询问光束时是不可见的。
28.权利要求27的方法,其中所述混合符号识别符的图像是相位编码的加密图像。
