1.技术领域

2.现有技术的描述
现有技术的膨化挤压制品,例如以CHEETOSTM产品商标生产和销售的小吃,其生产典型的包括在极高压力下经过具有小模孔的模具挤压玉米粉或其它生面团。该生面团在离开小模孔时闪蒸或膨化,因此形成膨化挤出物。初始生面团的典型配料可以是,如,每立方英尺41磅的体积密度的玉米面,并且按重量计算含12%到13.5%的含水量。然而,初始生面团主要基于小麦粉,米粉,分离大豆,大豆浓缩物,任意其它谷物粉,蛋白粉,或者加有添加剂的强化粉,该添加的添加剂可包括卵磷脂,油,盐,糖,混合维生素,可溶性纤维,和不可溶性纤维。该混合物典型地包括100到1200微米的粒度。

本发明包括对卷曲膨化挤出物切刻而不是切断它的切刻刀片设备。切刻在卷曲膨化挤出物内形成一系列薄弱点。薄弱点足够强,以便在输送工艺过程中保持卷曲膨化挤出物连接。然而,当卷曲膨化挤出物在烤炉或油炸锅内进一步处理时,卷曲膨化挤出物在切刻处断裂,使卷曲膨化挤出物分离成单独的片。
为了适当的方便切刻工艺,同时挤出物处于塑性熔融状态,切刻应尽可能接近模头。管与模头分离,以便刀片可接近模头孔。最终的分离还允许蒸汽从膨胀的挤出物排出,以代替经过管前进。蒸汽的释放允许卷曲膨化挤出物更平稳地流经管,并有助于防止堵塞和波动。
本发明还包括管定位装置,在操作期间,该管定位装置将管定位在模头孔上,但在启动和停止运转期间使管从模头孔移开。在启动和停止运转期间使管从模孔移开是期望的,因为在上述期间,挤出物倾向于波动并堵塞管。为了便于不同深度的切刻,还公开了一种刀片定位装置。
本发明的优选实施例利用每个模孔的切刻刀片。然而,当一些模具构造不允许每个模孔一个切刻刀片时,还公开了一种用于为多个模孔切刻的中央刀片设备。
本发明的优选实施例还利用烤炉或油炸锅来分离切刻的卷曲膨化挤出物。然而,在一些情况下,烤炉或油炸锅不是优选的,这样还公开了一种可替代的分离装置。替代的分离装置包括叶轮,振动传送带,和翻转器。

详细说明
图5是本发明的一个实施例的立视图。在整个附图中,除非特别指出,相同的参考标号用来指代相同的元件。如同现有技术,挤出物16离开模具12中的模孔14。模孔14的横截面直径取决于特定的生面团配方,生产率,和所期望的杆(或其它形状)直径,但最好在1mm至14mm的范围内。(模孔14直径还取决于被挤压的玉米粉或配方混合物的平均粒度)。
如果期望有卷曲膨化挤出物20,可使用具有活动挡板32的管30。活动挡板32对离开模孔14的挤出物16施压,以便挤出物16形成卷曲。管定位装置34用来使管30定位在模孔14前或离开该模孔。管定位装置34能够相对于模具12在任意方向移动管30。管定位装置的实例是电力伺服电动机,气动传动装置,液压传动装置,和机械螺杆。管刀片36也固定在靠近模具12的管30的端部。
切刻刀片40定位成与模面18齐平,并且,绕轴44或者旋转或者摆动。切刻刀片40和轴44由电动机42供给动力,电动机与刀片定位装置46连接。刀片定位装置46能够使电动机42,轴44,和切刻刀片40在相对于模具12的任意方向移动。刀片定位装置46的实例是电力伺服电动机,气动传动装置,液压传动装置,和机械螺杆。为了有效地使离开模孔14的挤出物16切刻,切刻刀片40定位成使得当通过模孔14前面时,切刻刀片40的端部仅部分覆盖模孔14。切刻刀片40完全覆盖模孔14导致完全切刻挤出物16,这不允许挤出物16保持连接,以便进行附加的处理。应理解切刻刀片40覆盖模孔14的程度确定挤出物16切刻的深度。切刻越深使得挤出物16越容易断开,这里适当地称之为可折断性。切刻越浅使得挤出物16越容易保持连接,这里适当地称之为可连接性。模孔14覆盖的量以覆盖百分比表示,该覆盖百分比等于覆盖模孔14的切刻刀片40的长度除以模孔14横截面直径。期望的覆盖百分比取决于粘性熔化物10的种类和模孔14的尺寸。80%至90%的覆盖百分比通常被认为是针对所述熔化物10和模孔14的可折断性和可连接性之间的可接受的平衡。如果希望,切刻刀片40对挤出物16切刻的速率增加,以致切刻刀片40对挤出物16切刻比挤出物16卷曲更快。当这完成且切刻挤出物16分离时,形成较小的“C”形挤出物片。
另一个影响切刻尺寸的因素是切刻刀片40尖端形状。尽管尖角切刻刀片40能够对挤出物16切刻,方边切刻刀片40(即切刻刀片40的边缘包含两个九十度角处)证明在卷曲膨化挤出物20内形成切刻方面非常有效。
在启动期间,管30定位成离开模孔14,管刀片36布置成牢固抵靠模面18。当挤压机启动并接近操作参数时,它将挤压不合需要的挤出物16。在启动期间,挤压机还从模孔14挤压过量的热气体,例如蒸汽。蒸汽和其它热气体容易导致管30堵塞。管30定位成离开模孔14将允许不合需要的挤出物16绕过管30,并防止不合需要的挤出物16,蒸汽和其它热气体堵塞管30。在启动期间,电动机42通常不运行,以便初始挤出物16不被切刻。作为选择,如果电动机42在运行,刀片定位装置46可给移动切刻刀片40定位,以便刀片切割半径22不会覆盖模孔14,且切刻刀片40不会对挤出物16切刻,也不会影响管30的定位。以这种方式,电动机42和切刻刀片40达到操作速度,但不会对挤出物16切刻,也不会影响管30的定位。如果需要,切刻刀片40由刀片定位装置46定位,以便它完全切割离开模孔14的挤出物16。该方法将挤出物16切割成较小的片并不再需要分离装置。
图6A-6C表示本发明的一个实施例的启动和操作程序。当挤压机达到其操作参数时,管定位装置34使管30定位,以便管刀片36与模面18齐平(参见图6A)。然后,管定位装置34迅速使管30横过模面18滑动,直到模孔14在管30的内径内(参见图6B)。当管刀片36经过模孔14时,管刀片36切下一片旧的挤出物16,并允许模孔14将新的挤出物16挤进管30内,这里活动挡板32与挤出物16接触,并使其卷曲和形成卷曲膨化挤出物20。
在管定位装置34使管30定位在模孔14上之后,管定位装置34使管30移动离开模具12(参见图6C)。管30与模面18分离形成间隙38。间隙38允许气体例如蒸汽从膨胀挤出物16溢出,并在挤出物16离开模孔14时,允许切刻刀片40接近挤出物16。4-8毫米的间距被认为是管30内包含的卷曲挤出物之间的良好平衡,这允许切刻刀片40接近挤出物16,并允许充分的释放蒸汽。应理解间隙38可根据挤出物16的压力和温度,活动挡板32形成的反压力,和切刻刀片40的厚度而变化。
还应理解模孔14,切刻刀片40和管30的多个实施例可在单个模具12内构成。图7是具有四个这样的实施例的模具12的示意图。刀片切割半径22由切刻刀片40的外伸距离限定,并仅局部覆盖模孔14。与其它构造比,图7所示的切刻刀片40的定位是优选的,例如轴44靠近模面18的边缘,因为刀片切割半径22没有伸展超出模面18的周边。使刀片切割半径22保持在模面18周边内有助于防止靠近挤出物和模具12工作的人员受伤。在具有多个模孔14的模具12操作期间,挤出物16排出率对于不同模孔14是不同的。每个模孔14采用一个切刻刀片40的实施例是优选的,因为它允许操作者或自动控制者基于挤出物16输出速率和卷曲速率来调节切刻刀片40的速度。通过将切刻刀片40的速度调节到单个模孔14的挤出物16的输出率,这样可精确的控制每个单独模孔14的挤出物16上的切刻处之间的距离,从而形成均匀长度的卷曲膨化挤出物20片。
在一些情况下,每个模孔14采用一个切刻刀片40的实施例并非必须或优选的。在这些情况下,如图8A,8B和8C所示,采用中央切刻设备定位装置(未图示)中央切刻设备62可采用刀片定位装置64,和至少一个刀片60。中央切刻设备定位装置可相对于模具12在任意方向使中央切刻设备62移动。中央切刻设备定位装置62的实例是电力伺服电动机,气动传动装置,液压传动装置,和机械螺杆。如图8A-8C所示的中央切刻设备62用来切割或对若干模孔14切刻。图8A-8C表示将中央切刻设备62定位在模面18中心内的工艺,以便中央切刻设备62的刀片60能够对多个模孔14切刻。在图8A中,中央切刻设备62被定位在接近模面18处。电动机(未图示)给中央切刻设备62提供动力。当中央切刻设备62开始旋转时,由中央切刻设备62的旋转产生的离心力强制打开刀片60。刀片定位装置64引导刀片60就位,以便当完全打开时,它们平行于模面18。作为替换,刀片定位装置64可驱动或受控制,以便强制刀片60就位。在图8B中,离心力继续使刀片60伸展,并将其定位成靠近模面18。切刻设备62继续旋转,因此,刀片60移动就位,并对离开模孔14的挤出物16切刻(参见图8C)。刀片60还足够伸展,以便完全切断离开模孔14的挤出物16。
再次参见图5,在离开管30后,卷曲膨化挤出物20通常输送到用于烘焙的烤炉中或用于油炸的油炸锅内。卷曲膨化挤出物20中的切刻处比卷曲膨化挤出物20的其余部分薄弱,结果卷曲膨化挤出物20裂开成单独的卷曲膨化挤出物20片,烘焙或油炸没有或很少机械操纵。图9是在油炸锅内分离的切刻的卷曲膨化挤出物20的一个实例。
在一些应用中,在烘焙,油炸或一些其它处理之前将单独的卷曲膨化挤出物20分离是期望的。在这种情况下,存在用于分离切刻的卷曲膨化挤出物20的不同装置。一种类型的分离装置是叶轮。图10A和10B是表示叶轮。在图10A和10B所公开的实施例中,卷曲膨化挤出物20离开管30,并沿输送带移动,该输送带平行于叶轮的轴70。图10A和10B的视图是离开纸页并朝向观看者输送的卷曲膨化挤出物20。每个叶轮包括与电动机(未图示)的轴70。若干叶轮72与轴70连接。当轴70旋转时,叶轮72与切刻卷曲膨化挤出物20接触(图10A)。通过这点,卷曲膨化挤出物20充分冷却至硬化。当叶轮72与卷曲膨化挤出物20接触时,切刻卷曲膨化挤出物20在最弱点断裂,即切刻。单独的卷曲膨化挤出物20片落进叶轮下面的收集箱内(图10B)。导向件74阻止卷曲膨化挤出物20本身再定位成离开叶轮72的工作半径。
应认识到叶轮不是唯一用于分离单独的卷曲膨化挤出物20片的装置。翻转器可用来翻滚未分离的卷曲膨化挤出物20,直到卷曲膨化挤出物20片断开。然后,卷曲膨化挤出物20片从翻转器移开。卷曲膨化挤出物20还在振动传送带或具有阶跃变化或方向变化的传送带上分离,以便于产品分离。本领域的普通技术人员还意识到用于分离切刻的卷曲膨化挤出物20的不同的其它装置。
尽管本发明以卷曲膨化挤出物20作为参考进行了公开,应理解本发明可采用圆柱形,独特的形状,或任意其它种类的挤出物16。另外,本发明可采用利用任意方法对准固体流出物切断或切刻所需的任意时间。
还应理解多于一个的模具12可经规定路线进入单独一个管30内。例如,管30可从两个靠近的模孔14接纳挤出物16。而且,本发明采用生产许多形状的模具12,例如星形或方形横截面,或更复杂的形状,例如仙人掌或辣椒形状。
本发明可采用许多不同种类的挤压机,包括任意长度和可在广泛的旋转速度下操作的双螺杆压出机和单螺杆压出机。而且,尽管已经参考基于谷物的产品描述了本发明的方法,应该理解本发明可用于任意膨化挤出物,包括主要基于小麦,稻米或其它类型的蛋白质源或其混合物的产品。事实上,本发明可应用于包含挤压材料的任意领域。该挤压材料在挤压经过模孔后快速变成玻璃化转变状态。
尽管结合优选实施例已经对本发明作了特别显示和描述,本领域的技术人员可以理解在不超出本发明的实质和范围的前提下,本发明的形式和细节可进行不同的修改。
Claims (14)
1、一种生产若干挤出物片的方法,所述方法包括以下步骤:
挤出一种挤出物,使所述挤出物在离开挤压机时处于塑性熔融状态;
当所述挤出物处于塑性熔融状态时,使用切刻装置对所述挤出物进行切刻;和
使用分离装置将所述挤出物分离成片,所述挤出物片的轮廓由挤出物中的切刻区域所确定。
2、如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述切刻装置是一个刀片。
3、如权利要求2所述的方法,其特征在于,所述刀片对离开一个模具内的一个模孔的挤出物进行切刻。
4、如权利要求2所述的方法,其特征在于,所述刀片对离开一个模具内的若干模孔的若干挤出物进行切刻。
5、如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述方法还包括:处理挤出物;在处理期间,所述挤出物保持连接。
6、如权利要求5所述的方法,其特征在于,所述处理挤出物包括使挤出物经过密闭容器,并对挤出物施加阻力,以生产非线性挤出物。
7、如权利要求6所述的方法,其特征在于,所述切刻装置经过模具和密闭容器之间的间隙而接近挤出物。
8、如权利要求6所述的方法,其特征在于,还包括:
将密闭容器定位成离开模具内的模孔,以使挤出物不经过密闭容器;和
使密闭容器复位到模孔前,以使挤出物经过密闭容器。
9、如权利要求6所述的方法,其特征在于,还包括:
将切刻装置定位成离开挤压机的模具内的模孔,以使切刻装置不对挤出物进行切刻;和
使切刻装置复位到模孔前,以使切刻装置对挤出物进行切刻。
10、如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述分离挤出物的步骤发生在烘焙阶段。
11、如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述分离挤出物的步骤发生在油炸阶段。
12、如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述分离挤出物的步骤发生在使用叶轮进行的传送阶段。
13、如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述分离挤出物的步骤发生在翻转阶段。
14、如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述分离挤出物的步骤发生在传送阶段。
