Abstract
一种发光二极管封装结构,包括芯片载体、黏着层、发光二极管芯片以及抗老化层。其中,黏着层设置于芯片载体上。发光二极管芯片具有发光层,并通过黏着层黏着于芯片载体上,以与芯片载体电连接。抗老化层则设置于黏着层与发光层之间,且抗老化层包括滤光层,以将发光层所发出的光线滤除。上述的发光二极管封装结构中,抗老化层可减少或避免黏着层被发光层所发出的光线照射,减缓封装体的老化现象,进而增进封装体的寿命。
Description
技术领域
本发明是关于一种发光二极管封装结构(Light emittingdiode package,LED package),且特别是关于一种具有抗老化层(anti-aging layer)的发光二极管封装结构的发明。
背景技术
近几年来,由于发光二极管的发光效率不断提升,使得发光二极管在某些领域已渐渐取代日光灯与白炽灯泡,例如需要高速反应的扫描仪光源、液晶显示器的背光源或前光源汽车的仪表板照明、交通信号灯,以及一般的照明装置等。一般常见的发光二极管是属于一种半导体元件,其材料通常使用III-V族元素如磷化镓(GaP)、砷化镓(GaAs)等。发光二极管的发光原理是将电能转换为光,也就是对上述的化合物半导体施加电流,通过电子、空穴的结合而将过剩的能量以光的型态释放出来,进而达到发光的效果。由于发光二极管的发光现象不是通过加热发光或放电发光,而是属于冷发光,因此发光二极管的寿命长达十万小时以上,且无须预热时间(idling time)。此外,发光二极管还具有反应速度快(约为10-9秒)、体积小、低用电量、低污染、高可靠性、适合批量生产等优点,所以发光二极管所能应用的领域十分广泛。
图1为公知的发光二极管封装结构的剖面示意图。请参照图1,公知的发光二极管封装结构100由导线架102、黏着层104、发光二极管芯片106、两条焊线108a、焊线108b以及封装胶体110所构成。其中,导线架102由两个接脚102a、102b以及设置于接脚102a上的芯片承载体102c所构成。黏着层104设置于接脚102a上的芯片承载体102c中。发光二极管芯片106通过黏着层104黏着于芯片承载体102c中,并通过焊线108a、108b分别与接脚102a、102b电连接。此外,封装胶体110包覆黏着层104、焊线108a、焊线108b、发光二极管芯片106以及部分的接脚102a、102b。
图2为图1中所使用的发光二极管芯片的立体示意图。请参照图2,公知的发光二极管芯片106由基材106a、N型半导体层106b、发光层106c、P型半导体层106d、N型接触垫106e以及P型接触垫106f所构成。其中,N型半导体层106b位于基材106a上,而发光层106c位于N型半导体层106b上,且P型半导体层106d位于发光层106c上。此外,N型半导体层106b的部分区域上未覆盖有发光层106c与P型半导体层106d。
请同时参照图1与图2,上述的N型接触垫106e位于未被发光层106c与P型半导体层106d所覆盖的N型半导体层106b上,而P型接触垫106f则位于P型半导体层106d上。一般而言,N型接触垫106e与N型半导体层106b之间会形成良好的欧姆接触(ohmic contact),而P型接触垫106f与P型半导体层106d之间亦会形成良好的欧姆接触。换言之,焊线108a通过N型接触垫106e与N型半导体层106b电连接,而焊线108b通过P型接触垫106f与P型半导体层106d电连接。
值得注意的是,公知的发光二极管封装结构中,黏着层104通常采用银胶(silver paste),然而,银胶在受到发光层106c所发出的光线照射之后,容易老化而使得黏着性劣化,进而使得发光二极管封装结构的寿命大幅降低。
发明内容
本发明的目的就是提供一种具有抗老化层的发光二极管封装结构,以有效减缓发光二极管封装结构的老化速度。
本发明提出一种发光二极管封装结构,包括芯片载体、黏着层、发光二极管芯片以及抗老化层。其中,黏着层设置于芯片载体上。发光二极管芯片通过黏着层黏着于芯片载体上,且与芯片载体电连接。此外,发光二极管具有发光层,以发出光线。抗老化层设置于黏着层与发光层之间。
在本发明的一实施例中,芯片载体例如包括导线架或是电路板。承上所述,导线架例如包括多个接脚以及芯片承载体,其中芯片承载体设置于其中一个接脚上,以承载发光二极管芯片。
在本发明的一实施例中,黏着层例如为银胶或是其它黏着性与导热性良好的黏着材料。
在本发明的一实施例中,发光二极管芯片例如包括基材、图案化半导体层以及两个接触垫。其中,基材具有第一表面以及第二表面,而图案化半导体层设置于基材的第一表面上,且接触垫设置于图案化半导体层上。
在本发明的一实施例中,抗老化层例如设置于基材的第二表面上。换言之,抗老化层与图案化半导体层例如分别设置于基材的两相对表面上。然而发明所属技术领域的普通专业人员应知,上述的抗老化层亦可设置于基材与图案化半导体层之间。此外,抗老化层的材质例如为金属、半导体、氧化物或高分子材料等。
在本发明的一实施例中,抗老化层例如为光吸收层、导光结构、滤光层或是这些膜层的结合,以改善黏着层的老化现象。此外,前述的导光结构例如包括导光层以及反射层,其中,反射层设置于导光层与黏着层之间。
在本发明的一实施例中,发光二极管封装结构例如还包括封装胶体,此封装胶体例如包覆上述的黏着层、发光二极管芯片、抗老化层以及部分的芯片载体。
在本发明的一实施例中,发光二极管封装结构例如还包括多条焊线,且这些焊线连接于发光二极管芯片以及芯片载体之间。
在本发明的发光二极管封装结构中,因采用抗老化层的设计(光吸收层、导光结构、滤光层等),所以可有效地减缓发光二极管封装结构的老化速度,增加发光二极管封装结构的使用寿命。
为让本发明的上述和其它目的、特征和优点能更明显易懂,下文特举较佳实施例,并配合附图,作详细说明如下。

具体实施方式
第一实施例
图3为依照本发明第一实施例的发光二极管封装结构的剖面示意图。请参照图3,本实施例的发光二极管封装结构200包括芯片载体202、黏着层204、发光二极管芯片206以及抗老化层212。其中,黏着层204设置于芯片载体202上。发光二极管芯片206通过黏着层204黏着于芯片载体202上,且与芯片载体202电连接。此外,发光二极管206具有发光层206c,以发出光线。抗老化层212设置于黏着层204与发光层206c之间,以避免发光层206c所发出的光线照射于黏着层204上。
承上所述,发光二极管封装结构200例如还包括焊线208a与焊线208b,而焊线208a与焊线208b例如连接于发光二极管芯片206以及芯片载体202之间。此外,发光二极管封装结构200还可包括封装胶体210,此封装胶体210例如包覆前述的黏着层204、发光二极管芯片206、抗老化层212以及部分的芯片载体202。
以下将针对上述构件的详细结构进行描述,但以下的描述仅作为举例说明之用,并非用以限定本发明的范围,任何发明所属技术领域的普通专业人员在参照本发明的公开内容后,当可作出适当的更动与改进,惟其仍应属于本发明的范围。
本实施例所使用的芯片载体202例如为导线架,此导线架例如包括接脚202a、接脚202b以及芯片承载体202c。其中,芯片承载体202c设置于接脚202a上,用以承载发光二极管芯片206。
为了让发光二极管芯片206能够顺利黏着于芯片承载体202c内,前述的黏着层204通常需具备良好的黏着性与导热性,在本实施例中,我们所使用的黏着层204例如为银胶或是其它黏着性与导热性良好的材料。
图4为图3中所使用的发光二极管芯片的剖面示意图。请同时参照图3与图4,本实施例所使用的发光二极管芯片206由基材206a、N型半导体层206b、发光层206c、P型半导体层206d、N型接触垫206e以及P型接触垫206f所构成。其中,基材206a具有第一表面A以及第二表面B,N型半导体层206b位于基材206a的第一表面A上,而发光层206c位于N型半导体层206b上,且P型半导体层206d位于发光层206c上。此外,N型半导体层206b的部分区域上未覆盖有发光层206c与P型半导体层206d。承上所述,N型半导体层206b、发光层206c以及P型半导体层206d可统称为图案化半导体层。
由图3与图4可清楚得知,N型接触垫206e位于未被发光层206c与P型半导体层206d所覆盖的N型半导体层206b上,而P型接触垫206f则位于P型半导体层206d上。在本实施例中,N型接触垫206e与N型半导体层206b之间会形成良好的欧姆接触,而P型接触垫206f与P型半导体层206d之间亦会形成良好的欧姆接触。
由图3与图4可清楚得知,焊线208a通过N型接触垫206e与N型半导体层206b电连接,而焊线208b通过P型接触垫206f与P型半导体层206d电连接。在本实施例中,焊线208a与焊线208b例如采用延展性良好的金线(gold wire)。
由上述说明可知,由于黏着层204经过光线照射之后,其黏着性会逐渐劣化,因此,需将抗老化层212设置于发光二极管206的发光层206c与黏着层204之间,以有效阻挡光线照射至与黏着层204。由图4可清楚得知,本实施例将抗老化层212设置于基材206a的第二表面B上,以避免黏着层204直接受到发光层206c所发出的光线照射而劣化。换言之,抗老化层212与图案化半导体层(包含N型半导体层206b、发光层206c以及P型半导体层206d)分别设置于基材206a的两相对表面A、B上。
为了防止黏着层204的劣化,本实施例提出多种抗老化层212的设计,如使用光吸收层、导光结构、滤光层或是这些膜层的结合作为抗老化层212,通过光线被吸收、传导或滤除来改善黏着层204的老化现象。具体而言,本实施例所采用的光吸收层材料例如为金属或高分子材料,发明所属技术领域的普通专业人员当可针对不同发光波长而变换其材料;本实施例所采用的导光结构例如可将发光层206c所发出的光线导引至发光二极管芯片206的侧面,以使得照射到黏着层204上的光线大为减少;而本实施例所采用的滤光层例如通过多层具有不同折射系数的薄膜交互堆栈所形成,可用以将发光层206c发光层206c所发出的光线滤除,有效避免黏着层204劣化。承上所述,本实施例将以导光结构为例子,并配合图5进行详细说明如下。
图5为图3中所使用的抗老化层的剖面示意图。请参照图5,本实施例的导光结构300例如包括导光层302以及反射层304,其中,反射层304设置于导光层302与黏着层204之间。当发光二极管芯片206的发光层206c所发出的光线照射于导光结构(抗老化层)300时,这些光线会被反射层304反射,其中,被反射层304反射的部分光线可从发光二极管芯片206的正面出射,而其余的光线则可通过导光层302导引至发光二极管芯片206的侧边。
承上所述,同时兼具光线反射功能与导引功能的导光结构300,可有效避免黏着层204受到光线的直接照射,进而增加封装体的使用寿命及可靠性(reliability)。
第二实施例
图6为依照本发明第二实施例的发光二极管封装结构的剖面示意图,而图7为图6中所使用的发光二极管芯片的剖面示意图。请同时参照图6与图7,本实施例的发光二极管封装结构200’与第一实施例所公开的发光二极管封装结构200相似,两者的主要差异在于:在本实施例的发光二极管封装结构200’中,抗老化层212’设置于基材206的第一表面A上,意即基材206a与N型半导体层206b之间。
第三实施例
图8A与图8B为依照本发明第三实施例的发光二极管封装结构的立体示意图。首先请参照图8A,在本实施例的发光二极管封装结构500a中,发光二极管芯片206(表示于图4中)设置于电路板400上,且发光二极管芯片206通过黏着层204黏着于电路板400上。
接着请参照图8B,本实施例的发光二极管封装结构500b中,发光二极管芯片206’(表示于图7中)设置于电路板400上,且发光二极管芯片206’通过黏着层204黏着于电路板400上。在上述的封装结构中,设置于黏着层204与发光层206c之间的抗老化层212与抗老化层212’可有效地避免发光层206c所发出的光线直接照射于黏着层204上,进而增进发光二极管封装结构500a、500b的使用寿命与可靠性。
综上所述,本发明的发光二极管封装结构至少具有下列优点:
1.本发明的发光二极管封装结构可有效地减缓发光二极管封装结构的老化速度,进而增加发光二极管封装结构的使用寿命与可靠性。
2.本发明的发光二极管封装结构易于整合于现有的封装工艺中,不会造成制造成本上的负担。
虽然本发明已以较佳实施例公开如上,然其并非用以限定本发明,任何发明所属技术领域的普通专业人员,在不脱离本发明的思想和范围内,当可作些许的更动与改进,因此本发明的保护范围当视权利要求书所界定者为准。
Claims (13)
1. 一种发光二极管封装结构,其特征是包括:
芯片载体;
黏着层,设置于该芯片载体上;
发光二极管芯片,通过该黏着层黏着于该芯片载体上,且与该芯片载体电连接,其中该发光二极管具有发光层,以发出光线;以及
抗老化层,设置于该黏着层与该发光层之间,该抗老化层包括滤光层,以将该发光层所发出的该光线滤除。
2. 根据权利要求1所述的发光二极管封装结构,其特征是该芯片载体包括导线架或电路板。
3. 根据权利要求2所述的发光二极管封装结构,其特征是该导线架包括:
多个接脚;以及
芯片承载体,设置于上述多个接脚中的一个上,以承载该发光二极管芯片。
4. 根据权利要求1所述的发光二极管封装结构,其特征是该黏着层包括银胶。
5. 根据权利要求1所述的发光二极管封装结构,其特征是该发光二极管芯片包括:
基材,具有第一表面以及第二表面;
图案化半导体层,设置于该基材的该第一表面上;以及
两个接触垫,设置于该图案化半导体层上。
6. 根据权利要求5所述的发光二极管封装结构,其特征是该抗老化层设置于该基材的该第二表面上。
7. 根据权利要求5所述的发光二极管封装结构,其特征是该抗老化层设置于该基材与该半导体层之间。
8. 根据权利要求1所述的发光二极管封装结构,其特征是该抗老化层的材质包括金属、半导体、氧化物或高分子材料。
9. 根据权利要求1所述的发光二极管封装结构,其特征是该抗老化层包括光吸收层,以吸收该发光层所发出的该光线。
10. 根据权利要求1所述的发光二极管封装结构,其特征是该抗老化层包括导光结构,以将该发光层所发出的该光线导引至该黏着层之外的区域。
11. 根据权利要求1所述的发光二极管封装结构,其特征是该导光结构包括:
导光层;以及
反射层,设置于该导光层与该黏着层之间。
12. 根据权利要求1所述的发光二极管封装结构,其特征是还包括封装胶体,包覆该黏着层、该发光二极管芯片、该抗老化层以及部分该芯片载体。
13. 根据权利要求1所述的发光二极管封装结构,其特征是还包括多条焊线,连接于该发光二极管芯片以及该芯片载体之间。
