Abstract
等离子体显示面板的驱动电路包含等离子体显示面板的等效电容,其包含第一端及第二端;第一开关,电连于该等效电容的第一端及该第一电压供应端;第二开关,电连于该等效电容的第二端及该第一电压供应端;第一电感及第一二极管,以串联方式电连于该等效电容的第一端及第一节点;第二电感及第二二极管,以串联方式电连于该等效电容的第二端及该第一节点;第三开关,电连于该等效电容的第一端及该第一节点;第四开关,电连于该等效电容的第二端及该第一节点;及第五开关,电连于该第一节点及第二电压供应端。
Description
技术领域
本发明是提供一种驱动电路,尤指一种可减少电源消耗的等离子体显示面板驱动电路。
背景技术
等离子体显示面板的显像原理是将欲显示的数据在电极上累积电荷,接着在显示单位的电极上施加维持放电波形,使得显示单元产生放电,而发出可见光,再利用显示单元所发出的可见光的亮度大小来表现出图像灰阶。为了使等离子体显示面板产生放电,因此需要以交流脉波高电压施加在显示单位的电极上,而施加的时间通常需要几个微秒以使面板正常放电而发光。由于面板的可见光强度是由脉波的多寡决定,脉波越多,则可见光的强度越强,但也耗损越多能量,若能降低消耗功率或是将对面板充电时的能量回收,则将能降低面板显像时能源的耗损。许多设计及专利皆致力于提供使等离子体显示面板降低耗电量的方法或装置。
请参照图1,图1为已知技术的等离子体显示面板驱动电路100。等离子体显示面板驱动电路100包含有等离子体显示面板的面板等效电容CP,有着X端点及Y端点;以及四个开关S1-S4,用以控制电流的导通,并且为电压箝制电路的一部分;以及充电及放电电路,包含有开关S5和S6及体二极管D1和D2,以及电感L1。为达到节约能源的功能,等离子体显示驱动电路100需通过两个开关S5和S6来进行双向的放电操作。如此一来,开关S5和S6能够将面板等效电容CP的X端的电力传递至Y端再利用,或将面板等效电容CP的Y端的电力传递至X端再利用,而达到节约能源的目的。
在操作过程中,控制开关S1-S6以提供如图2中的电压波形至面板等效电容CP。在图表204中,面板等效电容CP的X端和Y端的单端电压在0到VS间变动。而在图表202为面板等效电容CP双端的电压的电压波形,其等效于Y端的单端电压减去X端的单端电压,面板等效电容双端的电压在-VS到VS间变动。
先前技术的设计需使用六个开关S1-S6,需使用较多的电子元件且会占用大量的电路面积。
发明内容
本发明提供一种等离子体显示面板驱动电路,包含有面板等效电容,其包含有第一端及第二端;第一开关,电性连接于该面板等效电容的该第一端及第一电压供应端之间;第二开关,电性连接于该面板等效电容的该第二端及该第一电压供应端之间;第一电感及第一二极管,以串联方式电性连接于该面板等效电容的该第一端及第一节点之间;第二电感及第二二极管,以串联方式电性连接于该面板等效电容的该第二端及该第一节点之间;第三开关,电性连接于该面板等效电容的该第一端及该第一节点之间;第四开关,电性连接于该面板等效电容的该第二端及该第一节点之间;以及第五开关,电性连接于该第一节点及第二电压供应端。

具体实施方式
本发明提供一种等离子体显示面板的驱动电路设计。请参照图3,图3为依本发明的第一实施例的等离子体显示面板的驱动电路300。驱动电路300包含五个开关S31-S35、两个二极管D31和D32以及两个电感L31和L32,电性连接至等离子体显示面板的面板等效电容CP,驱动电路300还电性连接至电压源V1及电压源V2,电压源V1的电压值高于电压源V2的电压值,电压源V2的电位可为负电压或是接地电平。
开关S31电性连接于电压源V1和节点N3之间;开关S32及开关S33为单向开关,其可导通的方向如图3所示,开关S32电性连接于节点N3和面板等效电容CP的X端之间,其中当开关S32导通时,电流将流入面板等效电容CP的X端;开关S33电性连接于节点N3和面板等效电容CP的Y端之间,其中当开关S33导通时,电流将流入面板等效电容CP的Y端;二极管D31与电感L31以串联的方式电性连接于面板等效电容CP的X端和节点N3之间,其中二极管D31的阳极电性连接于面板等效电容CP的X端,而电感L31电性连接于二极管D31的阴极和节点N3之间;二极管D32与电感L32以串联的方式电性连接于面板等效电容CP的Y端和节点N3之间,其中二极管D32的阳极电性连接于面板等效电容CP的Y端,而电感L32电性连接于二极管D32的阴极和节点N3之间;开关S34电性连接于面板等效电容CP的X端和电压源V2之间,开关S35电性连接于面板等效电容CP的Y端和电压源V2之间。开关S31-S35可为N型金属氧化物半导体晶体管、P型金属氧化物半导体晶体管、其它类型的晶体管或是其它类型的功率开关。等离子体显示面板驱动电路300的优点在于可通过调整电感L31与电感L32的电感值而改变输出电压波形的上升段斜率和下降段斜率,此外上升段斜率和下降段斜率亦能设计成不同的值。另一方面,本发明的设计只使用五个开关,较先前技术的等离子体显示面板驱动电路100中的六个开关更为节省。
请参照图4,图4为第一实施例的驱动电路300产生电压波形的操作步骤。流程图包含如下的步骤:
步骤400:开始;
步骤410:仅开启开关S31、S33和S34,使面板等效电容CP的X端电性连接至电压源V2,而面板等效电容CP的Y端经由开关S31和开关S33电性连接至电压源V1,使面板等效电容CP的Y端的电压上升至与电压源V1的电压相等,此时电流由电压源V1经开关S31和开关S33流至面板等效电容CP的Y端;
步骤420:仅开启开关S32,使面板等效电容CP自Y端经由二极管D32、电感L32及开关S32而放电至X端,因此面板等效电容CP的X端的电压上升至与电压源V1的电压相等,而面板等效电容CP的Y端的电压下降至与电压源V2的电压相等;
步骤430:仅开启开关S31、S32和S35,使面板等效电容CP的X端的电压保持与电压源V1的电压相等,而面板等效电容CP的Y端的电压维持与电压源V2的电压相等;
步骤440:仅开启开关S33,使面板等效电容CP自X端经由二极管D31、电感L31及开关S33而放电至Y端,因此面板等效电容CP的Y端的电压上升至电压源V1的电压相等,而面板等效电容CP的X端的电压下降至与电压源V2的电压相等;
步骤450:仅开启开关S31、S33和S34,使面板等效电容CP的X端的电压维持与电压源V2的电压相等,而面板等效电容CP的Y端的电压保持与电压源V1的电压相等;
步骤460:结束。
请参照图5,图5为依本发明的第二实施例的等离子体显示面板的驱动电路500。驱动电路500包含五个开关S51-S55、两个二极管D51和D52以及两个电感L51和L52,电性连接至等离子体显示面板的面板等效电容CP,驱动电路500还电性连接至电压源V1及电压源V2,电压源V1的电压值高于电压源V2的电压值,电压源V2的电位可为负电压或是接地电平。
开关S51电性连接于面板等效电容CP的X端和电压源V1之间;开关S52电性连接于面板等效电容CP的Y端和电压源V1之间;二极管D51与电感L51以串联的方式电性连接于面板等效电容CP的X端和节点N5之间,其中二极管D51的阴极电性连接于面板等效电容CP的X端,而电感L51电性连接于二极管D51的阳极和节点N5之间;二极管D52与电感L52以串联的方式电性连接于面板等效电容CP的Y端和节点N5之间,其中二极管D52的阴极电性连接于面板等效电容CP的Y端,而电感L52电性连接于二极管D52的阳极和节点N5之间;开关S53电性连接于节点N5和面板等效电容CP的X端之间,其中当开关S53导通时,电流将由面板等效电容CP的X端流出;开关S54电性连接于节点N5和面板等效电容CP的Y端之间,其中当开关S54导通时,电流将由面板等效电容CP的Y端流出;开关S55电性连接于节点N5和电压源V2之间。等离子体显示面板驱动电路500亦具有等离子体显示面板驱动电路300的优点,其可通过调整电感L51与电感L52的电感值而改变输出电压波形的上升段斜率和下降段斜率,此外上升段斜率和下降段斜率亦能设计成不同的值。另一方面,本发明的设计只使用五个开关,较先前技术的等离子体显示面板驱动电路100中的六个开关更为节省。
请参照图6,图6为第二实施例的驱动电路500产生电压波形的操作步骤。流程图包含如下的步骤:
步骤600:开始;
步骤610:仅开启开关S52、S53和S55,使面板等效电容CP的X端电性连接至电压源V2,而面板等效电容CP的Y端的电压与电压源V1的电压相等,此时电流由面板等效电容CP的X端经开关S53和开关S55流至电压源V2;
步骤620:仅开启开关S54,使面板等效电容CP自Y端经由开关S54、电感L51及二极管D51而放电至X端,因此面板等效电容CP的X端的电压上升至与电压源V1的电压相等,而面板等效电容CP的Y端的电压下降至与电压源V2的电压相等;
步骤630:仅开启开关S51、S54和S55,使面板等效电容CP的X端的电压保持与电压源V1的电压相等,而面板等效电容CP的Y端的电压维持与电压源V2的电压相等,此时电流由面板等效电容CP的Y端经开关S54和开关S55流至电压源V2;
步骤640:仅开启开关S53,使面板等效电容CP自X端经由开关S53、电感L52及二极管D52而放电至Y端,因此面板等效电容CP的Y端的电压上升至电压源V1的电压相等,而面板等效电容CP的X端的电压下降至与电压源V2的电压相等;
步骤650:仅开启开关S52、S53和S55,使面板等效电容CP的X端的电压维持与电压源V2的电压相等,而面板等效电容CP的Y端的电压保持与电压源V1的电压相等,此时电流由面板等效电容CP的X端经开关S54和开关S55流至电压源V2;
步骤660:结束。
总括而言,本发明提供数个驱动电路的实施例,与先前技术的驱动电路比较,将可使用较少的开关及二极管。例如,先前技术中需使用二个二极管及六个开关,而本发明只需要一个二极管及五个开关。因此本发明的驱动电路将可以减少在集成电路中所需的电路面积。此外本发明的驱动电路可通过调整电感值而改变输出电压波形的上升段斜率和下降段斜率,此外上升段斜率和下降段斜率亦能设计成不同的值。
以上所述仅为本发明的较佳实施例,凡依本发明权利要求范围所做的均等变化与修饰,皆应属本发明的涵盖范围。
Claims (12)
1. 一种等离子体显示面板的驱动电路,包含有:
面板等效电容,其包含有第一端及第二端;
第一开关,电性连接于该面板等效电容的该第一端及第一电压供应端之间;
第二开关,电性连接于该面板等效电容的该第二端及该第一电压供应端之间;
第一电感及第一二极管,以串联方式电性连接于该面板等效电容的该第一端及第一节点之间;
第二电感及第二二极管,以串联方式电性连接于该面板等效电容的该第二端及该第一节点之间;
第三开关,电性连接于该面板等效电容的该第一端及该第一节点之间;
第四开关,电性连接于该面板等效电容的该第二端及该第一节点之间;以及
第五开关,电性连接于该第一节点及第二电压供应端之间。
2. 根据权利要求1所述的等离子体显示面板驱动电路,其中该第一电压供应端的电压大于该第二电压供应端的电压。
3. 根据权利要求2所述的等离子体显示面板驱动电路,其中该第一二极管的阴极电性连接于该面板等效电容的该第一端,而该第一电感电性连接于该第一二极管的阳极及该第一节点之间;该第二二极管的阴极电性连接于该面板等效电容的该第二端,而该第二电感电性连接于该第一二极管的阳极及该第一节点之间。
4. 根据权利要求2所述的等离子体显示面板驱动电路,其中该第一电压供应端电性连接至正电压源,而该第二电压供应端电性连接至接地电平。
5. 根据权利要求2所述的等离子体显示面板驱动电路,其中该第一电压供应端电性连接至正电压源,而该第二电压供应端电性连接至负电压源。
6. 根据权利要求2所述的等离子体显示面板驱动电路,其中该第三开关及该第四开关是单向开关。
7. 根据权利要求6所述的等离子体显示面板驱动电路,其中电流仅能以自面板电容的该第一端流向该第三开关的方向通过该第三开关,并且电流仅能以自面板电容的该第二端流向该第四开关的方向通过该第四开关。
8. 根据权利要求1所述的等离子体显示器驱动电路,其中该第一电压供应端的电压低于该第二电压供应端的电压。
9. 根据权利要求8所述的等离子体显示器驱动电路,其中该第一二极管的阳极电连于该面板电容器的该第一端,而该第一电感电连于该第一二极管的阴极及该第一节点之间;该第二二极管的阳极电连于该面板电容的该第二端,而该第二电感电连于该第二二极管的阴极及该第一节点之间。
10. 根据权利要求8所述的等离子体显示器驱动电路,其中该第一电压供应端电性连接至接地电平,而该第二电压供应端电连至电压源。
11. 根据权利要求8所述的等离子体显示器驱动电路,其中该第三开关及该第四开关为单向开关。
12. 根据权利要求11所述的等离子体显示器驱动电路,其中电流仅能以自该第三开关流向该面板电容的该第一端的方向通过该第三开关,并且电流仅能以自该第四开关流向该面板电容的该第二端的方向通过该第四开关。
