Abstract

Sistemas y métodos para producir una pluralidad de ediciones únicas en la semilla de una planta. En un ejemplo, un método comprende introducir en una células vegetal o un tejido vegetal un ácido nucleico que codifica una enzima de modificación del ADN; opcionalmente, un ácido nucleico que codifica al menos un ARN guía (ARNg); y una secuencia de sistema inducible, en el que la secuencia de sistema inducible se induce en un estadio de crecimiento deseado de la planta y o bien media en la expresión de la enzima de modificación del ADN en al menos una de una célula de primordios florales y un órgano reproductivo floral o bien transloca la enzima de modificación del ADN al núcleo; y (ii) media en una pluralidad de ediciones en el al menos uno de los primordios florales y el órgano reproductivo floral. El método puede incluir también regenerar una planta que tiene una pluralidad de semillas a partir de la célula vegetal o tejido vegetal, en el que la semilla contiene una pluralidad de ediciones únicas.
