Abstract

Un proceso de bucle químico para la producción de hidrógeno y la coproducción de dióxido de carbono que comprende: un primer bucle redox que comprende: alimentar un primer portador sólido de oxígeno a una primera zona de reacción (R1) en la que también se alimenta un primer combustible carbonoso, que reacciona con el primer portador sólido de oxígeno alimentado en su estado de oxidación máximo (forma totalmente oxidada), lo que conduce a la formación de los productos de combustión dióxido de carbono y agua y el portador sólido de oxígeno en un estado de oxidación inferior (forma reducida); y alimentar el primer portador sólido de oxígeno en forma reducida a una segunda zona de reacción (R2) en la que también se alimenta aire, obteniendo, a partir de la oxidación del primer portador sólido de oxígeno, calor y el portador sólido de oxígeno en forma totalmente oxidada para ser reciclado a la primera zona de reacción (R1); y un segundo bucle redox que comprende: alimentar un segundo portador sólido de oxígeno a una tercera zona de reacción (R3) en la que también se alimenta un segundo combustible carbonoso, que reacciona con el segundo portador sólido de oxígeno alimentado en su estado de oxidación intermedio (forma oxidada), lo que conduce a la formación de los productos de combustión dióxido de carbono y agua y el portador sólido de oxígeno en un estado de oxidación inferior (forma reducida); y alimentar el segundo portador sólido de oxígeno en forma reducida a una cuarta zona de reacción (R4) en la que también se alimenta vapor, que reacciona con la forma reducida del portador sólido de oxígeno, produciendo hidrógeno y el portador sólido de oxígeno en un estado oxidante intermedio (forma oxidada) que se reciclará a la tercera zona de reacción (R3) y/o a la primera zona de reacción (R1), en donde la primera zona de reacción (R1) y la tercera zona de reacción (R3) están interconectadas permitiendo la transferencia de al menos una porción del primer portador sólido de oxígeno desde la primera zona de reacción (R1) a la tercera zona de reacción (R3)
