Abstract

<p>Se proporciona un aparato y un método para un filtro de aire de cabina para eliminar contaminantes moleculares transportados en el aire y compuestos orgánicos volátiles de un compartimiento de pasajeros de un vehículo. El filtro de aire de cabina comprende una estructura de soporte configurada para orientar adecuadamente el filtro de aire de cabina dentro de un sistema de ventilación del vehículo. La estructura de soporte comprende una forma y un tamaño adecuados para soportar el filtro de aire de cabina dentro del sistema de ventilación. Un medio filtrante se retiene dentro de la estructura de soporte y está configurado para eliminar los contaminantes moleculares en suspensión en el aire y los compuestos orgánicos volátiles del aire que fluye a través del sistema de ventilación. El medio filtrante atrae y aglomera electrostáticamente contaminantes dentro del aire que fluye a través del filtro de aire. En algunas realizaciones, el medio filtrante comprende fibras tratadas con moléculas antimicrobianas configuradas para destruir microbios. En algunas realizaciones, el medio filtrante comprende materiales fibrosos configurados para liberar una fragancia en el compartimiento de pasajeros.</p>
