Cinematographic film reel store. The present invention relates to a cinematographic film reel magazine, remarkable in particular in that it is formed by a rigid support box provided with a central core which is capable of rotating and on which one of the ends of the film is permanently fixed, this film having at a certain distance from said end a notch making it possible to obtain an automatic stopping of the driving of the film at the end of the projection before a traction has been exerted on the part of the film attached to the core.
In the accompanying drawing, given by way of example: FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the object of the invention; Fig. 2 is a cross section thereof; Fig. 3 shows the attachment of the film to the core of the magazine reel; Fig. 4 _ shows a variant of this binding.
In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, the reel magazine comprises a rigid support box formed by two cheeks 2 and a cylindrical wall 3 assembled in any suitable manner. The shape of this box is such that it can be easily attached to a cinematographic device. The two cheeks 2 present a lateral notch 4 and the wall 3 is notched in a corresponding way.
In the cheeks 2 is mounted a central core 1 which can turn on itself. The film 9 is fixed by one end to this core; so that it cannot be detached from it. As best seen in fig. 3, this fixing is carried out using a leaf spring 6 which is fixed to the core and carries a stud 5 intended to pass through a perforation in the film and to engage in a recess in the core.
The film has, at a certain distance from its point of attachment to the core 1, a notch or perforation 10 in one of its edges capable of producing the automatic stopping of the film drive, so that the film automatically stops. be driven by the mechanism of the projection apparatus when it is almost completely unwound and before traction has been exerted on the point of attachment of the film to the core. This prevents the film from being torn from the core.
Normally, the film reel projects out of the magazine at the location of the notches 4 and the end of the film comes out of the magazine at this point. The core 2 has, in one of its ends, a transverse groove I1 for the attack of a rotational setting member. To rewind the film in the magazine, it suffices to rotate the core using this member engaged in said groove and caused to turn so as to rotate the core. Of course, there could be other means of attacking the kernel to make it spin.
The main advantages of this reel magazine are as follows: As the film never leaves its box, since it is invariably attached to its core, it will never be loose and will not be able to unwind on its own as happens with ordinary reels . It will be unrolled like the usual films and we can rewind it easily without having to re-attach the end of the film to the core.
The reel and the film always remaining linked to each other, we will have the facility to put the title of the film in a very visible way on the cheeks 2 of the box, which will allow the operator to not make no confusion and choose without hesitation the subject he wants.
In addition, the window in the reel at the location of the notches 4 makes it possible in all cases to easily bring the free end of the film outwards. Indeed, if this end is located inside the magazine cry a point where it cannot be reached, it suffices to act on the part of the reel which protrudes in said window to make it turn until that the free end of the film appears in the window, where it can be grabbed. In the method of fixing the film according to FIG. 4, the free end of the film is introduced into a slot 7 of the core and after having made the film go around the core, the two parts of the film which come to be superimposed are glued together <B> sui '</ B> the other in 8.
