Device for regulating the amount of air flowing through the cooler of air-cooled condensers in locomotives. The present invention relates to a device for regulating the amount of air flowing through the eD in the cooler of air-cooled condensers in locomotives.
The invention is particularly suitable for use in locomotives in which there are fans or dergleithen which are driven directly or indirectly by one of the moving parts of the locomotive in order to drive the air through the cooler, with air intake possibly also catch supply lines to increase the amount of air to be driven through the cooler are provided.
The aim of the invention is to make the amount of air flowing through the cooler approximately independent of changes in the speed of the locomotive.
According to the invention, this is achieved in that the amount of air passing through the cooler is regulated by an apparatus which is sensitive to changes in the speed of the locomotive and which is adjusted when these changes occur. An exemplary embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing by FIG. 1, partly in section, partly in view, and by FIG. 2 in plan.
1 denotes the air cooler through which the air is driven by means of fans 2 and 3 . 4 is the introduction in front of # iclitung, which consists of a row of louvre-like arrester screens 13 , which can be rotated around pegs 14 and are connected by common regulating rods 15 .
The fans 2 and 3 are powered by means of friction wheels 5 . 6 driven, which lie against each one side of friction disks 16 , which form the middle parts of the fans. 17 are the pivot pins of the fans. These journals rest in bearings carried by crossbars i8.
The friction wheels 5 and 6 are arranged on shafts 19 , one of which is above and one below the fans. These shafts can be displaced in the longitudinal direction in bearings which are arranged on the 21 bars 18 . By wedged on the shaft gears 20, these waves get their movement, for example by a suitable translation or directly from the steam engine.
One ends of the shaft 19 are mounted in bearings 21 in such a way that they cannot be axially displaced in these bearings. These bearings are arranged on the piston rod 22, which is connected to the piston 23 which is movable in the cylinder 24. 12 denotes a servo motor of known construction art.
which by means of tubes 8 respectively. 9 on the one hand with a space on the inside or Outside of the air cooler 1 and on the other hand in the middle of the tubes 25 respectively. 26 with a small space in front or behind the piston 23 is connected.
On the piston stance 22 there is a crosspiece 9-7 which is connected in an articulated manner to one ends of two levers 10 , which are connected around the pins 11 mounted so that they can swing and are connected to the regulating rods 15 at their other ends.
The servomotor 12, which is not illustrated in more detail on the drawing, can contain a slide which is moved by the air pressure difference on both sides of the air cooler. During its movements, this suction valve more or less connects the pipe '25 or 26 with a pressure valve, filter or the like, so that the pressure in this container causes the movement of the piston 23 .
If the mentioned pressure difference on both sides of the air cooler is sufficient to move the piston 23 alone, the servomotor 2 can be omitted. .
The mode of operation is as follows: When the locomotive is traveling at normal speed, the fans rotate at normal speed and the interception blinds 13 assume the normal position.
If the speed of the locomotive is now increased, the fans endeavor to increase their speed as well. the difference in air pressure at the mouths of the pipes 8 and 9 increasing. The servomotor 12 comes into operation and the pressure medium enters the cylinder 24 through the tube 26 on one side of the piston 23, so that the piston is displaced to the left -becomes.
The entire drive system of the fans takes part in this Bewoo-un, whereby the friction wheels 5 and 6 can be set to a larger radius of the friction disks 16 , #, - o so that the speed of the fans returns to normal.
So although the friction forces # of the 5 and 6 have increased their speed at the same time as the locomotives, yoke the ventilators with the same or roughly the same gear. windiness continue to rotate.
The \ terhälinis becomes the opposite. if z # the speed of the locomotive is reduced. # The safety screens 13 are influenced in the same way, namely if the speed of the locomotive is increased, they are. more and more closed or umglekelirt.
In the embodiment shown in the drawing, it is therefore the air pressure difference on the side of the cooler 1 which regulates itself to a certain constant or below (ye about constant value. Of course, borrowed however, other means can also be used;
there may be some other roller regulator that is sensitive to fluctuations in the speed of locomotives and that controls the fans, resp. affects the capture device. For example, a centrifugal regulator driven by one of the fans or its drive device can be used to control the blinds.
