Description
Verfahi zum elektrischen Vorwärmen von Giesspfannen. Zum Vergiessen von flüssigem Metall aus dem Schachttiegel oder Schmelzofen in die Formen benötigten die Giessereien Giesstiegel oder -pfaanen aus Graphit oder aus Eisen, welch letztere innen mit Lehm ausgestrichen sind. Diese Giesspfannen müssen vor tlem Ge brauch je nach dem zu giessenden Metall auf 200 bis 700 vorgewärmt werden; was bis jetzt auf dem offenen Kohlen- oder Koks- feuer oder auch in mit Koks oder Kohlen ge heizten Ofen erfolgte.
Gemäss ,der Erfindung werden nun die Giesspfannen auf elektrischem Wega vorge wärmt, indem die Pfannen einzeln über elek trische Heizkörper, deren Form dem Hohl raum der Giesspfannen etwa entspricht, ge stülpt und dann mit einer mehr oder weniger wärmeisolierenden Haube umgeben werden.
Die Zeichnung veranschaulicht beispiels weise einen Vorwärmer zur Ausübung des Verfahrens nach der Erfindung im Schnitt, der sieh sowohl für Graphittiegel (a), als auch für lehmgefütterte Eisenpfannen (b) verschiedener Grösse eignet. Auf dem Sockel c des Vorwärmers ist der kegelstumpfförmige, bohle Heizkörper d befestigt, der die Heiz- spiralen e trägt. Diese sind in feuerfestem Material, z.
B. Chamotte (f) und Lehm (g), eingebettet und können zur Regelung der Hitze mit Anzapfungen versehen oder aus mehreren Teilen zusammengesetzt werden. Der Vorwärmer wird, wenn nötig, im Betrieb mit einer wärmeschützenden Haube h be deckt. Der Strom wird von unten, durch die bffnung i im Sockel c, zugeführt.
