Tractor with four-wheel drive. The present invention relates to a four-wheel drive tractor, comprising two independent trucks articulated together, each provided with two driving wheels and one of which carries an engine, while the other is without an engine, the articulation of these two trucks being made by means of a vertical fork integral with a horizontal axis sleeve and articulated by its four chons around a vertical axis at the rear of the truck carrying the engine, said sleeve for mant pivot horizontal for the truck without motor.
An embodiment of the object of the invention is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing: FIG. 1 is a longitudinal sectional elevation thereof, and FIG. 2 a plan view.
The chassis A of the front truck carries, on the one hand, the engine M, on the other hand, a mechanism. enclosed in a housing B. This mechanism comprises a primary shaft a, a secondary shaft b, with gear change a 'a2 b' b2, a reduction gear cc 'whose toothed wheel c' is mounted on a shaft d, which carries a pinion dl actuating, by a pinion e ', Him transverse shaft e carrying a differential and pinions <I> f f' </I> controlling, by chains, the toothed wheels F FI integral respectively with the front driving wheels C Cl .
These wheels are mounted on the axle H, on which the frame A rests by the intermediary of springs la h '. This axle is suitably bent to allow passage of the mechanism. At the rear of the front truck are articulated, by pivots E E 'arranged along a vertical axis, the forks of a fork R which is extended by a sleeve K.
On this sleeve is journaled, by two spans L 'and L2, the chassis L of the rear truck, mounted by means of springs 2t 2.t' on the axle, S carrying the rear driving wheels D D '. The vertical pivots E El allow the pivoting of one of the trucks with respect to the other for the execution of the turns, while the journaling of the chassis on the sleeve K allows the driving wheels of the two trucks to adapt to the unevenness ground.
On the sleeve K can slide a sleeve J, retained between the surfaces L1 and L2 of the frame L, and which is provided with a key j, which can slide in a longitudinal groove <I> k </I> of said sleeve <I > K. </I> Projecting under this sleeve J is formed a journal Jl for one of the ends, <I> n, </I> of a connecting rod <I> N </I> of which the other end, nl, is articulated to a pin A2 integral with a cross member 11.1 of the frame r1. of the front truck.
The articulations <I> n </I> and 7Z1 of the connecting rod <I> N </I> are arranged as close as possible to the vertical planes of the spindles of the driving wheels D Dl and C Cl respectively. The function of the 1N connecting rod. ' is to ensure, in bends, the maintenance of a constant spacing between the geometric midpoints of the two axles. The axles can, as shown in the drawing, be bent in an oblique plane to avoid the n and n1 joints.
The sleeve fork R-K carries, projecting laterally, a steering arm Kl (fig. 2) connected, by a connecting rod y), to a steering device P, which can be operated using a steering wheel 0.
The rear drive wheels are controlled by a transmission starting from the mobile cl of the reduction gear c cl, and comprising, at the end of the shaft d, a double cardan joint arranged between the pivots E El along the axis of these. this. This universal joint drives a shaft q, on the end of which can slide, without turning, a sleeve q1 integral with a shaft q ', journaling in a casing I of the frame <I> L. </I> The shaft l' carries a pinion q3 by which the movement of the shaft q is returned to a pinion <B> Il </B> carried by a transverse shaft t,
provided with a differential and mounted in the <I> I. </I> gearbox. At its ends the shaft <I> t </I> carries the pinions g y1 controlling by chains the toothed wheels G Gl, respectively, integral with the driving wheels D Dl.
Under the action of the steering unit 0 <I> P </I> I: Ll the sleeve K oscillates around the pivots E El, with respect to the front truck, driving the rear truck; during this movement, under the action of the connecting rod N and the sleeve J, abutting on the bearing surface L =, the assembly LJ slides longitudinally on the sleeve X, and the rear truck moves back relative to the pivots E El, so that the distance of the geometric midpoints of the two axles remains constant.
This condition is essential to prevent the rear wheels from slipping in relation to the front wheels in bends, since these pairs of wheels are connected by a transmission which forces them to turn at the same speed.
It can be seen that the device described makes it possible to steer the machine by bending it in some way through its middle around a vertical axis, while keeping the distance between the axles constant, the four wheels being driving.
It can also be seen that the construction described makes it possible to have the axes of the chain transmissions at the height of the axles, and thus to constantly achieve a correct transmission compatible with the suspension of the vehicle.
Finally, the pivoting of the rear truck around the horizontal axis of the sleeve K allows a large difference in level of the wheels.
