i der Flasche ist somit fertig. Während des zuletzt angegebenen Vorganges ist eine neue Kapsel in der obern Matrize gebildet worden. Nachdem die verschlossene Flasche mit ihrem Träger in bekannter Weise wieder niedergegangen ist, dreht sich der DIatrizen- zylinder aufs freue, worauf die neue Kapsel finit einer Dichtungsscheibe versehen wird;
Vei # drive and machine for closing bottles and other vessels with capsules. The present invention relates to a V er Niren for closing bottles and changing vessels by means of capsules, as well as a machine used to carry out this method.
In the known machines for producing capsules and for closing bottles or other vessels by means of capsules provided with sealing washers, the sealing capsules are cut out or punched out by one tool and the sealing washers with another tool. The tools tend to be arranged coaxially in such a way that one tool surrounds the other.
This arrangement shows major deficiencies, namely that chips of the metal sheet or crumbs of the sealing material (cork or the like.) From which the capsules and the sealing washers are made, accumulate in the matrices in which the caps are formed.
This has a detrimental effect on both capsule formation and the running of the machine. To avoid these inconveniences, the method according to the invention proceeds in such a way that the sealing capsules are produced at one point in the machine in one and the same machine, the finished capsule is then provided with a sealing washer at another point in the machine and then At a third point in the machine, the capsule provided with the sealing washer is placed on the vessel to be closed.
The machine used to carry out this process is characterized in that the tool for producing the capsules in movable matrices and the tool for punching out the sealing washers are arranged at different points in the machine and come into effect in such a way that first one Capsule is formed in one of the dies and then, after the capsule with the die has assumed a different position, a sealing washer is inserted into the capsule by the second tool. In the drawing, the part of this machine under consideration here is shown in an exemplary embodiment.
In this version, the machine is used to manufacture crown capsules and to close bottles with such crown capsules. 1 is a vertical section and FIG. 2 is a horizontal section of the head of the machine which holds the manufacture of the capsules and the parts effecting the closure. while Fig. 3 shows an individual part in section, Fig. 4 shows a capsule in section.
As with older machines of the type, a cylinder 1 is rotatably mounted in the machine head, in which the matrices be found, with which the capsules are formed and which circle intermittently, as will be described below. The force required to move this and the other parts in the machine head is supplied by a vertical auxiliary shaft 2 driven by the main working shaft, and the intermittent movement of the die cylinder can be brought about in any suitable manner.
The die cylinder 1 is seen ver with two one of the diametrically opposed dies. Each of these dies consists of a base piece 3, which is fastened in the die cylinder by means of a bolt 4, as well as a sleeve surrounding the base piece which is displaceable on the base piece. The United push the die sleeve 5 is done in a manner to be specified later.
Above the die in the position for capsule formation is the tool for producing the capsule slices. This tool consists of a punched tube 6 which is vertically movable in a head piece and which, with the aid of a fixed perforated cylinder 6a, punches the capsule disks out of the metal sheet, which is pushed forward through the channel i under the punched tube 6 by two cam rollers 8. The two rollers 8 are driven from the shaft 2 by an intermediate gear.
In the punched tube 6 there is a likewise vertically movable piston 9, at the lower end of which a cartridge 10 is attached, the shape of which corresponds to the desired shape of the capsule.
The device by means of which the punched tube 6 and the piston 9 with the template 10 are given the required vertical movement can be of any type. The movement can be derived from the shaft 22 of the machine by means of a lever 11 and suitable intermediate means, not shown. The piston 9 transmits the movement which is imparted to it by the lever 11 by means of the stationary coupling pawls 30 to the punched tube 6.
After a capsule disc has been punched out of the sheet metal band through the descending punched tube 6, the disc is guided downward from the punched tube against the upper edge of the die and lies zen tral on the die, where it is held clamped by the punched tubes until When the piston 9 continues to go into the corset, the Klin ken 30 are released and the pa'rize 10 descends into the die and forms a capsule from the disc. In the case shown, a so-called Cruwn capsule is formed.
After the specified process and after the punching tube 6 has been returned to its original position by a spring 61 'and the male part 10 has been returned to its original position by the piston 9, the female part cylinder 1 makes a quarter turn (FIG. 1) so that the female part with the The newly formed capsule is located in the middle of the tool used to manufacture the sealing washer.
This tool has a punching piston 1'22, which cooperates with a fixed perforated plate 12a and receives its movement from a thumb disk 13 driven by the shaft 2, a helical spring 14 causing it to move backwards.
The tape, made of cork or other suitable material, from which the sealing washers are punched out, moves over a path 15 to the cam rollers l (i, through which the cork tape or the like is pushed past the punching piston 12 at intervals.
After a sealing washer has been punched out, the washer is driven by the dance piston through the perforated plate 12 ″ through into the newly formed capsule in front of the plate and inserted against yawing ground, as can be seen from FIG. 4, which shows a section of a crown -Capsule with inner sealing washer and with bulges 21 in the edge part 23 shows.
The punch for the sealing washers can also have a movable, hollow punch piston which encloses a punch which can be moved back and forth in the punch piston. uni to drive the sealing washers punched from the punch piston into the capsules. The punched piston can be rotatably arranged to make it easier to punch or cut out the sealing washers.
It is recommended that the end of the punching piston or of the punching tube located on the piston which drives the sealing washers into the capsules has a pin which penetrates the sealing washer and holds it in place until it is inserted into the capsule.
In order to make the insertion of the sealing washer into the capsule even safer, the perforated plate 12- can also be arranged so that it can move towards the die cylinder, forming a rapid guide for the sealing washer from which it can be taken directly be dispensed into the capsules.
After the newly formed capsule is provided with a sealing washer. the die cylinder rotates again by a quarter turn in the same direction, where a bottle 17 comes through the die in the position for closing a bottle 17 by means of the capsule located in the die. The other die in the sodium cylinder is then at the same time irr the adjusting ring for making a new capsule.
Against the bottoms of the sleeves 5, which form the matrices with the bottom pieces 3, there are levers 18 which are finitely hinged to the matrix cylinder at one end and the other end of which, when turning the cylinder, enters the area of a constant love 19 whose arene 20 temporarily from a thumb 21 of the thumb driven by the shaft 2 wolle 22 is niitgenoinmen .
NVenti never a die; a capsule containing the locking washer comes into the position tVerschlufästellungsing) just given. so the thumb 21 hits the arm 20 of the lever 19, which presses the lower lever 13 and thus also the die sleeve 5.
Before this happens, the bottle 17, which is to be closed, was brought upwards and firmly attached with the mouth of the bottle against the seals on the capsule.
During the depression part of the die sleeve by means of lever 15, the edge part 23 of the capsule (see Fig. -1) finitely has its indentations 2-1, which fully extend your somewhat conical capsule part 25, into the groove,
which is gcwülinlieli on the top of the bottle under your bottle. eitigel -el ,, t. The closure:
i the bottle is ready. During the last mentioned process a new capsule was formed in the upper die. After the closed bottle with its carrier has come down again in a known manner, the die cylinder turns with pleasure, whereupon the new capsule is provided with a finite sealing washer;
This is followed by a further partial rotation of the matrix, after which the finely sealed capsule is placed on the next bottle, etc.
The movement of the die sleeves 5 is mediated by 5% helical springs.
On the outside of the channel 7 there is a fully actuated lever 11, the scissor blade 26 to cut the remaining part of the sheet metal strip,
from which the capsule discs were punched out into short pieces, which fall down into a suitable container shown in flicht. The punched-out remainder of the material strip for the sealing washers can also be cut with similar scissors.
The matrix ylinder can be provided with finite more than two matrices instead of one pair of matrices. In this case, of course, any rotational movement of the die cylinder will be less than if there were only one pair of dies.
It's clear. that if the matrices and a corresponding male mold are used, other capsules than so-called crown capsules can also be manufactured and placed on the machine. Also, for example, springs, which convey the backward movement of the working organs, can be replaced by other means, which in the long run act more reliably than springs. In the illustrated embodiment, springs have only been chosen for the visual illustration of the invention because of the greater simplicity.
Likewise, the die cylinder can be replaced by another part, which moves the dies into the position required for the machine to work.
