Process for the production of solid glass cylinders with melted longitudinal wires for production of nozzle bases for spinnerets. The extraordinary rise in the price of precious metals, from which spinnerets for the production of synthetic fibers and the like were made with preference, led to these nozzles made of glass being produced in an increased amount.
The production of these nozzles from glass is done, as far as details about them have become known, in such a way that platinum wires are melted onto a round glass rod parallel to its axis, these wires are again covered with a layer of glass, wires again melted and so <B. > continue until you get the desired number of wires.
This shaped piece of glass, which is traversed by wires, is ground into a flat disk in further processing, and this disk is inserted into a normal glass tube as a base piece, whereupon the platinum is removed by loosening it with aqua regia. In this way, an opening corresponding to the thickness of the wire is created at the point of each wire. The purpose of the invention is to make such nozzles, i.
H. the perforated nozzle bottoms as cheaply as possible and in the largest possible number by inan making a glass cylinder streaked with metal wires, which can be further processed into nozzles after being broken down into individual slices of the desired thickness.
The subject of the hrfinclung is the process for manufacturing the solid glass cylinder. It consists in that inanan a desired number of stretched out in a cylindrical shape, parallel. and surrounds metal wires running at a distance from each other with a glass melt flow by letting the glass melt rise from below in the hollow forums. This creates a bubble-free, made of wires.
crossed glass rod.
The mold and the glass flow can be heated, for example, with the help of an electric resistance furnace or by means of a controllable gas furnace.
