Device for the automatic readjustment of a grinding wheel to compensate for its wear. The present invention aims to automatically readjust a grinding wheel in the event of wear occurring during the grinding process.
Figs. 1 and 2 of the accompanying drawing voltage show, for example, embodiments of the subject invention.
According to the first embodiment (FIG. 1), the button 3 is pressed very slightly by the spring 4 against the effective grinding plane of the grinding wheel 2 driven by the electric motor 1. The button 3 is attached to one end of the lever 5, which in turn is rotatably mounted about the fixed point 6. The lever 5 carries on its other end the sliding contact 7, which slides over the contact pieces 8 and 9 depending on the use and readjustment of the grinding wheel. The grinding wheel is mounted in the grinding spindle carrier 10 and is axially displaced from the thread 12 of the spindle 11 by worm 13 and worm wheel 14 according to their wear. Screw 13 sits on shaft piece 15a; which is temporarily connected by the electromagnetic clutch 16 to the shaft section 15b, which is constantly driven by pulleys 17, 18 from the motor 1.
Shaft pieces 15a and 15b in Fig. 1, and 15a, 15b and 32a, 32b in Fig. 2 are drawn in a position rotated by 90 degrees to the correct position for clarity of the arrangement. The electromagnetic clutch 16 is in the circuits of an electrical source 19, this circuit has different ohmic resistances, depending on which it stood by sliding contact 7 and contact piece 8 over the large ohmic resistance 20, or by sliding contact 7 and contact piece 9 is closed across the small ohmic resistance of the conductor piece 25a.
If the grinding wheel is correctly set for grinding, then the grinding contact 7 is above the contact piece 8, and when the switch 21 is closed, the current circulates, starting from the source 19, through the line piece 22 via the pivot 6 through lever 5 < / B>, sliding contact 7, contact piece 8, large ohmic resistance 20, line piece 24 and through the windings of the electromagnetic coupling 16 back to source 19.
The resistor 20 is to be measured so that the small current intensity occurring in the described current path is not sufficient to actuate the electromagnetic clutch, ie the rotary movement of the shaft piece 156 in this position of the button 3, respectively. the effective grinding plane of the grinding wheel cannot be transmitted to the shaft piece 15a by the electromagnetic clutch 16. But if the grinding wheel wears out during the grinding process, the button 3 is pressed by the spring 4 further against the worn grinding wheel, the sliding contact 7 being moved from the contact piece 8 against the contact piece 9.
The contact pieces 8 and 9 are through. very thin insulation separates from each other, so that even the slightest wear and tear on the disc will cause metallic contact between sliding contact 7 and contact piece 9. If this is the case, the current goes by bypassing the large resistance 20 through sliding contact 7 and Kon contact piece 9 in the conductor piece 25a and flows through the branch point 23, as in the first case, in the line 24 to the electromagnetic clutch 16 and to Source 19. The resistance of this closed circuit is so small that the current intensity is sufficient to put the clutch 16 into action; the rotational movement of the shaft piece 15b is on shaft piece 15a, respectively.
Worm gear 13, 14 are transmitted, and the spindle 11 adjusts the grinding wheel 2 in its axial direction until the contact between the contact piece 9 and the sliding contact 7 is interrupted again and the current is passed through the resistor 20. In this moment, the small current intensity turns off the electromagnetic clutch 16, the readjustment is canceled, and the position of the effective grinding plane is the same as before it was worn out, i.e. at the start of work.
Now, however, with a fine execution of the adjustment mechanism - especially the bearings of the shaft piece 15a and the spindle 11 - it can happen that when the grinding wheel is adjusted, the effective grinding plane is not only returned to its old position, but also adjusted further , since the spindle 11 does not come to rest immediately after the electromagnetic clutch has been switched off, but the whole mechanism of its current kinetic energy continues to rotate until it is consumed by the friction work. The error resulting from this overadjustment is. the greater, the longer the adjustment took, the higher the number of revolutions of the rotating parts (11 and 15a) has become.
During grinding, the adjustments are very small, corresponding to the sensitivity of the adjustment mechanism and the small amount of wear on the grinding wheel. Different at the start of work. Since the rough setting of the disc, by means of the handwheel 25b, the sliding contact 7 can generally not be brought so close to the contact piece 9 that the slightest wear of the disc could cause an adjustment. In order to achieve this, one will adjust the sight disk by means of the hand wheel 25b so that the sliding contact 7 and the contact piece 9 are still in metallic contact for the time being. When the engine 1 is started, the switch 21, which is connected to a switch which is used to start the engine, is closed, and the adjusting mechanism ensures the fine adjustment of the disc.
However, since this requires a relatively large adjustment, the end position of the effective grinding plane will not be the one aimed for, but rather it moves further beyond this position according to the causes listed above. This drawback can be eliminated by the embodiment of the invention shown in FIG. It is an extension of the embodiment according to FIG. 1.
The designations 1-25i 'mean the same elements of the device as in the embodiment according to FIG. 1. In FIG. 2, in addition to the contact piece 9 on the other side of the contact piece 8, a third contact piece 26 is attached, which is in a Head circles of the contact piece 9 is used quite analog conductor circuit. It contains a power source 27, an electromagnetic dome 28, the conductor piece 29, the contact piece 26, the lever 5, the pivot 6, the conductor piece 30 and the switch 31, through which the current to the source 27 is returned.
In addition to the shaft section 15b, which is driven by the cable pulleys 17, 18, the shaft section 32b of the motor 1 is also kept constantly rotating by pulleys 35 and 36. One of the two ropes is crossed so that the shaft piece 32b runs in the opposite direction to the shaft piece 15 ″. In the middle of the electromagnetic coupling 28, the rotation @on 32b can be transmitted to the shaft piece 32a, which is driven by the worm gear 33, 34 can cause an opposite adjustment of the grinding wheel, as the shaft piece 15a by worm gear 13, 14. The contact pieces 9, 8 and 26 are separated from each other, as in the embodiment of FIG. 1, by very thin insulation layers, and the sliding contact 7 has exactly same width as the contact piece B.
If it should happen during an adjustment that the effective grinding plane is advanced beyond its initial position, the lever 5 immediately comes into metallic contact with the contact piece 26; The current he energizes the electromagnet of the clutch 28, and the grinding wheel experiences an adjustment opposite to the previous one through the shaft piece 32a, worm gear 33, 34 and spindle 11 taken with it, so that the grinding wheel is transferred to the desired central position by this second adjustment becomes. In order to prevent the power sources 19, 27 during the standstill of the motor 1, the switches 21 and 31 will be combined with the switch of the working motor 1 in such a way that
that they are switched on or off simultaneously and inevitably with the latter. With a very rough setting of the grinding wheel at the start of work or with a very large sudden wear and tear of the grinding wheel during the grinding process, the oscillation of the grinding contact 7 on the contact pieces 9 and 26 can be repeated a few times; However, the grinding wheel is moved very quickly into its correct central position, since the adjustment mechanisms react immediately and the adjustments are made almost instantaneously due to the high number of engine speeds.
As mentioned, the button 3 is pressed by the spring 4 only very weakly against the grinding disk in order to avoid undesired use of the grinding wheel by the button. The end of the button 3 touching the grinding wheel should remain fixed in the room, so it must not suffer any noticeable wear. This condition is met if it is made from diamond carbonate, has the same hardness as diamond and is cheaper than that in price. The diamond carbonate is ground flat to achieve surface contact with the grinding wheel.
