Technisches Gebiet

Technical area
The present invention relates to a flat wooden element with a plurality of parallel, interconnected, longitudinal strips of solid wood.
State of the art
In furniture as well as in general timber construction, e.g. in interior design, elements of interconnected, parallel strips of solid wood are often used. The strips used have the property of "working" with temperature and humidity changes in the environment, i. to change their dimensions (swelling and shrinkage). These dimensional changes are particularly pronounced transverse to the fiber direction (in the radial and more particularly in the tangential direction with respect to the direction of growth). This creates considerable tolerances in the dimensions of the wood element. If such tolerances are not desired or permitted, frame structures are often used for such solid wood elements.
The frame then ensures the dimensional accuracy of the construction, while the filling is kept in the frame so that it can continue to work without warping.
However, such a frame construction is often undesirable for aesthetic reasons or can not be used meaningfully for other reasons.
Presentation of the invention
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a wood element with solid wood slats and a method for its production, in which a frame construction is avoided, but nevertheless good dimensional accuracy is ensured without excessive tensions and distortions occur.
This object is achieved by a wooden element with the features of claim 1 and by a method having the features of claim 7. Advantageous embodiments are given in the dependent claims.
The proposed wooden element thus has a plurality of along a longitudinal direction parallel longitudinal strips made of solid wood, which are mechanically connected to each other at their long narrow sides, that they have each other transversely to the longitudinal play. In order to ensure the dimensional accuracy, the wooden element has at least one transversely extending to the longitudinal direction of transverse bar.
To avoid tensions and distortions, the cross bar is firmly glued only with every second longitudinal bar in a Hauptleimbereich, while it is either not glued to the intermediate longitudinal strips or glued only in a Hilfsleimbereich that is chosen so small that a change in Dimensions of the respective longitudinal strips across the longitudinal direction due to temperature and / or moisture changes is not significantly hindered.
In the present context, the term "strip" is used for each cut, flat, elongated piece of wood, regardless of its dimensions, in particular equivalent to the terms board or lath. The term "gluing" refers to any adhesive bond between the respective strips.

Detailed description of preferred embodiments
In Figs. 1 to 3, a first embodiment of an inventive wood construction is shown. A plurality of longitudinally extending strips 11, 12 of solid wood (in the present example, five pieces) are connected at their long narrow sides via a tongue and groove connection 13 to a sheet-like element 1. There is enough play in the groove-and-tongue connections in the transverse direction, i. Tolerance for small movements, so that the wood can work across the grain. In the back of the element, which is shown in Figs. 1und 3dar, two transverse recesses or recesses 17 are milled, in each of which a transverse bar (Traverse) 14 is inserted. Preferably, this cross bar is made of solid wood.
The cross bar is glued to every second longitudinal bar 11, here with the first, third and fifth longitudinal bar, in a large area glue area 15, which is referred to below as the main adhesive area. In Fig. 1is this not visible in itself glue area indicated by dashed lines. Although there is also a glue connection between the transverse strip and the longitudinal strips between them, the corresponding glue area 16 is much smaller than the main adhesive area and can therefore be referred to as "auxiliary glue area". The Hilfsleimbereich is just chosen so large that the corresponding bars 12 remain connected to the cross bar 14, the strips 12 but otherwise possible unhindered work within the predetermined by the tongue and groove tolerances.
Since the cross bar works very little in its fiber direction, results in a very good dimensional accuracy of this construction. By a large-area gluing the cross bar is done only with every second longitudinal bar, at the same time excessive stresses are avoided.
In the present example, the longitudinal strips 11, 12 are flush with each other on both sides, i. E. the front and the back 20 of the wood element each form a flat surface. In order to achieve a pleasing appearance, in this example, the cross bar 14 is embedded so deep in the back that it also flush with the flat back of the wood element concludes. With this construction can be obtained with good dimensional accuracy in a very simple way a two-sided flat, flat wooden element.
In the present example, this wooden element has a peripheral stop edge 18. Of course, depending on the purpose, the border area can also be designed differently.
A second embodiment is shown in Figs. 4 to 6. Again, parallel longitudinally extending strips 11, 12 are combined to form a planar element and connected to transverse strips 14. In this example, however, the longitudinal strips 11, 12 are alternately offset relative to each other with respect to the surface of the wooden element, so that every second longitudinal strip 11 is recessed relative to the transverse strips 14 and the longitudinal strips 12 between them project towards the transverse strips 14. On their long narrow sides, the longitudinal strips 11, 12 on both sides of a groove, the width of which corresponds just to the remaining material thickness on both sides of the groove.
In this way, the groove and each adjoining material region adjacent bars interlocked meshed and thus give a plus-minus connection 13. This compound is in turn formed with enough play that the individual strips 11, 12 can work in the transverse direction.
The transverse strips are in this example flat on the recessed arranged longitudinal strips 11, while in the intermediate, projecting longitudinal strips 12 each transverse recesses 19 are milled in the form of flat, wide grooves in which the transverse strips 14 come to rest. Each cross bar 14 is glued in this example only with the recessed arranged longitudinal strips 11 in a glue area 15, while it is connected to the intermediate, projecting longitudinal strips 12 only by engagement with the recess 19.
Of course, the invention is in no way limited to the above embodiments, and a variety of variations are possible. Thus, virtually any (but preferably odd) number of longitudinal bars can be used. Also, depending on the desired dimensions, more or less than two transverse strips may be used. Other types of connections between the longitudinal strips as the tongue and groove connection or plus-minus connection shown here are possible, as long as they allow sufficient clearance between the longitudinal bars in the transverse direction. In particular, in flat-flush arrangement of the longitudinal strips, the cross bar need not be arranged in cutouts, but can also be glued directly on the flat side of the longitudinal strips. A variety of other variations is possible.
Such a wooden construction can be used in a variety of applications. For example, in furniture construction, Fronts or other surface parts of furniture can be made very elegant in this way. Another application is e.g. in interior design, where such elements are e.g. can be used as wall elements, ceiling elements or as coverings for ceilings and walls. However, the invention is not limited to these mentioned applications, but can be used wherever a solid wood panel element with good dimensional accuracy is needed.
