The present invention relates to a device for attaching a strand of a bracelet to a clasp of the folding clasp type, said clasp comprising first and second blades attached together by one of their ends by means of a hinge and a notch device ensuring its closure when said blades are folded over one another, the other end of the first blade having an opening forming a loop into which the strand of the bracelet provided with perforations may be introduced, l end of said strand coming to be placed under the clasp, the attachment device comprising a first stud arranged in a region preceding the entry of the strand into the loop and planted perpendicularly on the upper face of the first blade.
The fastening system described above is already known from patent FR-A 2 615 368. In this system the first blade comprises a loop preceded by a stud substantially perpendicular to the clasp and intended to pass through one of the perforations which is fitted the bracelet strand. Then the free end of the strand is placed under the clasp. To ensure at this end a straight path along the clasp and thus prevent it from emerging on one side or the other of said clasp, which would be inelegant and give the impression of a badly finished product, the cited patent proposes a second pass placed under the first blade, this second pass ensuring good guidance and good centering of the end of the strand. This second pass, however, has several drawbacks which will be briefly reviewed below.
This second passer-by is initially cumbersome, because it takes up space in height as in width, so that it does not adapt well to the wrist of the wearer which he can mark, if not to injure. It is also unsightly because of its width and therefore accentuates the presence of the clasp that the current trend would like to make as discreet as possible. Finally, this second loop makes no contribution to the security of the attachment of the strand to the clasp. Indeed, if for one reason or another, the strand detaches from the nipple preceding the first loop, it then slides out of the clasp and there is a great risk of losing the object attached to the wrist.
To overcome the drawbacks mentioned above, the fastening device according to the present invention is remarkable in that it also comprises a second stud arranged in a region following the exit of the strand of said passer-by and planted perpendicularly under the underside of said first blade, said first and second pins being each intended to pass through one of the perforations made in the strand to ensure its attachment to the clasp.
The advantages of this new attachment device will become apparent on reading the description which follows, a description which is based, for example, on the drawing in which:
fig. 1 is a side view of the clasp according to the invention, clasp presented ajar,
fig. 2 is a perspective view of the clasp of the invention, clasp presented from above and ajar,
fig. 3 is a perspective view of the clasp of the invention, clasp presented from below and ajar, and
fig. 4 is a variant relating to FIG. 1, a variant relating to the method of execution of an attachment stud.
Fig. 1 is a side view of the clasp and of the fastening device according to the invention. As also shown in figs. 2 and 3, the clasp is of the folding clasp type comprising a first blade 1 and a second blade 2. These blades are attached together by one of their ends by means of a hinge 3.
A notch device closes the clasp when the blades 1 and 2 are folded down (arrows A in figs. 2 and 3) one on the other. The notch device illustrated here is that described in patent FR-A 2 615 368 cited in the preamble to this description. This notch device has a hole 8 made in the first blade 1, a hole having the shape of a trapezoid and shaped to receive a projection 9 having a similar shape, a projection raised under the underside of the second blade 2. FIGS. 2 and 3 better reflect the shape of this notch system which will not be described here further since it is the subject of the cited patent. Obviously, the clasp could be equipped with another notch device, without departing from the object of the present invention.
The end 4 of the first blade 1 has an opening forming a loop 19 into which a strand 6 of the bracelet is introduced. In this strand 6 are made perforations, for example those bearing the references 21 to 26. FIGS. 1 to 3 show that after passing through the loop 19, the end 61 of the strand 6 is placed under the clasp and is thus wedged between the first blade 1 of the clasp and the wrist.
The actual attachment device of the strand 6 to the first blade 1 firstly comprises a first stud 13 disposed in a region preceding the entry of the strand 6 into the loop 19. In the case of FIGS. 1 to 3, it can be seen that this region is that of a bridge 62 closing the front of the passer-by 19. The stud 13 is planted perpendicularly on the upper face 11 of the first blade 1 (see fig. 1). The stud 13 crosses the perforation 22 of the strand 6.
According to an essential characteristic of the invention, the device for actually attaching the strand 6 to the first blade 1 then comprises a second stud 14 disposed in a region following the exit of the strand 6 from the passer-by 19. In the example shown in fig. 1 to 3, this region is that of another bridge 63 closing the rear of the trapezoidal hole 8. The stud 14 is planted perpendicularly under the lower face 12 of the first blade 1 (see fig. 1). The stud 14 crosses the perforation 25 of the strand 6.
Thus it follows from what has just been described that the strand 6 is retained attached to the blade 1, not only by the stud 13 (as already appeared in the patent cited above), but also by the stud 14, this which provides double security. If the strand can escape relatively easily from the stud 13, it will not be possible for it to do the same for the stud 14, since under the latter is the wrist of the wearer. It is also understood that the stud 14 goes completely unnoticed, which was not the case with the loop described in the cited patent. Finally, this device allows as easily as the cited patent, if not more easily, to adjust the length of the bracelet.
It will therefore be noted that the double safety in question here is not at the expense of a length adjustment which would be more difficult to carry out, any more than at the expense of guiding the strand under the clasp which would be unsatisfactory .
If we now return more particularly to FIG. 1, it can be seen that the strand 6 comprises a plurality of perforations, some of which are referenced from 21 to 26. These perforations are all separated from one another by the same distance x (noted here between the perforations 24 and 25). This being acquired, we will arrange to plant the pins 13 and 14 at a distance L which is a multiple of the distance x, or L = mx, m being an integer. In the example of fig. 1, we see that m = 3.
It will be understood that the pins 13 and 14 could be simply cylindrical. To ensure a certain blocking of the strand 6 on the nipples (especially the nipple 13), these nipples will be provided with a cylindrical head 17 whose diameter is larger than the diameter of the perforations made in the strand 6. It is also possible to fix strand 6 to blade 1 using screws. Fig. 4 shows in this connection that the stud 14 is a threaded tube capable of receiving a large-head screw 16. Other forms of studs are still possible and described for example in document FR-A 2 683 982.
To complete this description, it will be noted that the strand 7 of the bracelet is attached, in a known manner, to the end 5 of the second blade 2 by winding around a bar 30 and that to open the clasp, the second blade can be fitted. 2 of a lever 31 pivoting on the bar 30 (see patent FR-A 2 615 368). Finally, the bracelet with its clasp can advantageously be used to attach a watch to the wrist.
