The present invention relates to the construction for stiffening an express sling according to claim 1. Many smaller climbers complain time and again that they cannot hook in the already secured or struck intermediate safety hooks in a climbing route or only by dangerous actions.
The combination of the construction according to the invention with an express sling allows a climber to hang in the intermediate safety hooks that are too high for him.
In the following an embodiment of the invention and its application is explained with reference to drawings. The term "construction" always refers to the present invention. Show it:
1 view of an embodiment of the construction for stiffening an express sling,
2 view of an express sling consisting of tape, tubular tape or a cord of the desired strength and length, which is knotted or sewn into a ring and is provided with two carabiners,
3 view of an express sling combined with the construction, both carabiners being flexible in the sling,
4 view of an express sling combined with the construction, the construction being shifted in such a way that it fixes the one carabiner,

Fig. 6 View of other embodiments of the construction.
The construction according to Fig. 1 consists of a tube which has notches at one end which can accommodate a carabiner.
The tube has a round, approximately round, oval or square cross section. The cross section does not have to be constant over the length of the tube. The length of the tube and the shape of the notches are matched to the express sling used. Two or four notches can be made on one or both ends of the tube, as shown in FIG. The tube is made of a rigid material, preferably synthetic material.
The construction is applied as follows:
The construction is attached to a conventional express sling as shown in FIG. 3. If a climber comes to an already existing intermediate safety hook on his route, which is so high that he cannot reach it by hand, he uses an express sling combined with the construction. With finger pressure on the one tube end, he moves the construction against the opposite carabiner until it sits in the notches, as shown in Fig. 4. The carabiner is now fixed at the end of the tube and in a stable position. The climber can now use this quickdraw stiffened by the construction to hang the intermediate safety hook outside of its natural range, as shown in FIG. 5.
Another advantage of the invention is that as soon as the climber has hooked in the intermediate safety hook and reduced the pressure on the tube, the carabiner slips out of the notches and is movable again in the express loop, which is important for the rope guidance and thus safety. The embodiment C, shown in Fig. 6, has four notches from one side of the tube. This has the advantage that the carabiner slips into the notches from any position when the other end of the tube is pressed.
