The present invention described relates to an adhesion promoter and mortar additive of stabilized viscosity and increased shelf life, which> / = 92.0 M .-% of the total composition of water, of amorphous, finely divided silicon dioxide and at least one synthetic polymer dispersion and </ = 4, Contains 0% by mass of the total composition of nonionic wetting agent, of stabilizing additive and of dispersing additive, as well as its production with the process steps: entering and dispersing the amorphous, finely divided silicon dioxide into the formaldehyde-naphthalenesulfonic acid condensate-water mixture before or after adding the stabilizing additive and Then the synthetic polymer dispersion is mixed in and finally the additives are adjusted to a constant final viscosity of 200 to 900 mPa.s, which also improves the storage stability.
The adhesion promoter and mortar additive according to the invention is also referred to below as an agent; good adhesion and concrete elements with improved strength values and increased tightness are achieved with it.
Generic agents are also known from the patent literature:
The patent CH 658 854 teaches additives primarily containing micro silica and a water reducing agent. This is said to improve the workability and the plasticity of the additional mortar mixture and to increase the strength of the concrete obtained. An exemplary additive according to this CH patent contains 47% by weight of microsilicic acid and approx. 6% by weight of water-reducing agents with the rest of water (pages 7 below, 8 above).
Patent CH 667 096 also teaches additives to hydraulically setting mortars, which agents are said to lead to various improvements in the properties of the concrete treated with them , 20 to 40 wt .-% plastic dispersion and about 5 wt .-% very special organic additives, the rest water.
Finally, US Pat. No. 4,088,804 also teaches additives to mortar which contain, inter alia, amorphous silicon dioxide and plastic dispersions. Above all, these additives - together with cement and aggregates - should result in protective and decorative coatings. In addition to cement and aggregates, the relevant main components according to Table I are as follows: water 32 to 80 parts by weight, synthetic resin dispersion 10 to 15 parts by weight, amorphous SiO2 (Fly Ash or Silica 200 Mesh) 10 to 15 parts by weight.
It is known from the prior art that amorphous, finely divided silicon dioxide in hydraulic building and construction materials can increase their strength and tightness, above all due to its latent hydraulic reaction with free calcium hydroxide in the materials mentioned.
It is also known that plastic dispersions can have a positive effect on the properties of hydraulic building and construction materials in terms of their adhesive strength, compressive and bending tensile strength, modulus of elasticity and tightness.
In contrast, the teaching according to the invention solves the problem of using both large proportions of amorphous, finely divided silicon dioxide and synthetic polymer dispersions while maintaining a stable viscosity in a convenient size in the compositions.
The method according to the invention for producing the agent also serves to achieve the stated object.
The task is solved by the adhesion promoter and mortar additive according to the claims, i.e. ultimately, both through a combination of specific components in special contents and through the manufacturing process, also according to the patent claim. The applicant attributes the unforeseeable fact of viscosity regulation and the double use of the compositions according to the invention to these very specifications.
The adhesion promoter and mortar additive according to the invention stabilized viscosity and increased shelf life, which> / = 92.0 M .-% of the total composition of water, amorphous, finely divided silicon dioxide and at least one synthetic polymer dispersion and </ = 4.0 M.- % of the total composition of nonionic wetting agent, stabilizing additive and dispersing additive is characterized in that
- As amorphous, finely divided silicon dioxide with> / = 92.0 M .-% SiO2 that
- As a stabilization additive either a bentonite that is already swellable with cold water and based on magnesium silicate, one with aluminum oxide in a ratio of 4: 1 to 8:
: 1 mixed, finely divided hydrophilic silica with a high specific surface area or a hydrophilic aluminum oxide with a high specific surface area with> / = 96.0% by mass of Al2O3 in proportions of 0.2 to 4.0% by mass - based on the total composition - and that
- As a dispersing additive, there is one based on dissolved formaldehyde-naphthalenesulfonic acid condensates in proportions of 0.05 to 2.0 mass% (solid) - based on the total composition - in the coupling agent and mortar additive.
Advantageously, the agent contains the amorphous, finely divided silicon dioxide as such with> / = 95.0% by mass SiO2 and </ = 1.2% by mass C (carbon), the silica with high specific surface area mixed with aluminum oxide as one those with 80.0 to 90.0 mass% SiO2 and 10.0 to 20.0 mass% Al2O3 and with an average specific surface area according to BET of> 100 m 2 / g and the aluminum oxide with a high specific surface area one with> 98.0 M .-% Al2O3 and with> 80.0 m 2 / g according to BET.
The preferred formaldehyde-naphthalenesulfonic acid condensates are temperature-resistant up to 100 ° C., readily soluble in water saturated with lime and practically free of chloride.
The process according to the invention for the production of the named adhesion promoter and mortar additive is characterized by the sequence of the following process steps:
- Entry and dispersion of the amorphous, finely divided silicon dioxide in the formaldehyde-naphthalenesulfonic acid condensate-water mixture before or after addition of the stabilizing additive, then
- Mixing in the organic polymer dispersion and finally the additives, with adjustment to a constant final viscosity of 200 to 900 mPa.s, which also improves the storage stability.
The adhesion promoter and mortar additive produced in this way are used to produce adhesive bridges and concrete with improved adhesive and strength properties.
Preferred, exemplary agents according to the invention have the following components within the stated proportions:

In the preferred production processes, the dissolved formaldehyde-naphthalenesulfonic acid condensates are added to the water required for the batch and the amorphous, finely divided silicon dioxide is added slowly and with constant stirring to this mixture, the latter either before or after the addition of the stabilizing additive.
The synthetic polymer emulsion or dispersion is then added, the mixture thickening considerably.
Finally, the other additives, i.e. the nonionic wetting agent and the dispersing agent, etc., are added and emulsified or dispersed.
The invention will now be explained in practical terms using examples and their applications and comparisons:

ADMINISTRATION / STRENGTH
The use of the composition K as an adhesion promoter and mortar additive has led to the results according to Tables 4 and 5 below.
To prepare the adhesive slurry, composition K is diluted 1: 2 with water. 1 part of this mixing liquid is mixed with 3 parts sand and 1 part cement. The adhesive slurry prepared in this way is worked into the matt damp surface with a hard brush. The subsequent mortar is freshly incorporated into the adhesive slurry.
The surface must be free of dirt, cement slurry and dust. Formwork-smooth surfaces are to be roughened by sanding or sand, water jets etc. The surface must be pre-wetted in accordance with general practice.
In addition, the composition K is added to the mortar to be applied in the weight ratios according to the following Table 4:
