The invention relates to a burner-heated device and is based on the knowledge that the pollutant emission can be reduced if combustion air diluted with exhaust gas is supplied to the burner.
In particular, this has the advantage in the starting phase of the burner that, in addition to the combustion air, unburned hydrocarbons are also supplied to the combustion, which are still present in the exhaust gas with a considerable proportion in this phase.
The object of the invention is a more complete combustion and a reduction in the pollutant emissions of these exhaust gases, and this object is achieved according to the invention by the features of the independent claim.
There are many possibilities for the formation and arrangement of this branch line within the scope of the invention.
A particularly space-saving possibility of the accommodation consists in forming the branch line at least partially from cavities in a front wall closing the combustion chamber of the burner. This front wall can be the burner plate that carries the burner rods or a front wall that closes the housing of the burner-heated device, for example the housing door.
Such a branch line can, for example, open into the combustion air duct of the burner so that the exhaust gases to be used mix with the combustion air and are fed to the burner together with it.
If the burner is heated with a gas-air mixture, the branch line can open into a mixing chamber of this burner, which eliminates the need for further measures for purposeful mixing of the exhaust gases with the combustion air.
In the context of the invention, the branch line can also open into the flame area of the burner, the exhaust gases mixing with the secondary air flowing into the burner flames.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the branch line opens into the flame tube of the burner.
Conveniently, a separate blower serving to promote the exhaust gas portion can be arranged in the branch line.
In this case, the branch line can also open into the intake of this blower.
In view of the fact that the proportion of unburned hydrocarbons in the exhaust gases in the start-up phase of the burner operation is higher than in normal operation, the activity of the blower may be limited to this start-up phase.
The two drawing figures show embodiments of the subject matter of the invention in schematic vertical sections.
According to these representations, the combustion chamber 1 of a burner-heated device, e.g. of a boiler, an exhaust gas duct 3, from which a branch line 4 branches off, which is located in the front wall 5, e.g. the door of a housing enclosing the device. This front wall 5 could also be a burner plate, which closes the combustion chamber 1 at the front and carries a forced draft burner.
In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the branch line 4 opens into the flame tube 6 of the forced draft burner. In the context of the invention, however, numerous other possibilities are also open, so this branch line 4 could at best also in a mixing chamber of a burner heated with a premixed gas-air mixture or directly in the flame area of a burner or in the intake manifold 7 of a fan-operated burner flow out.
FIG. 2 shows an embodiment with a blower 8 which serves to promote the portion of exhaust gas to be used and which is arranged in the branch line 4, that is to say in the front wall 5, optionally a housing door.
The activity of such a blower arranged in the branch line 4 can optionally be limited to the starting phase of the burner operation, in which - as already mentioned - the proportion of unburned hydrocarbons in the exhaust gas is particularly high.
If such a blower 8 is arranged, the branch line 4 could possibly open into the intake port 9 of this blower 8.
