Abstract

A sealing strip (1) for a joint (2) between two structural elements (3,3') is made of a flexible tape (4) of plastomer or elastomer material, e.g. rubber of 0.5mm thickness. Its two selvedges (5,5')have adhesive strips (6,6')of hot melt butyl, at 15 mm wide and over 0.3mm thick. These two strips are protected by a tear-off paper band (7) with an adhesive-repellant surface. The tape (4) can be reinforced by a woven textile layer. ADVANTAGE - Sealing strip is independent of the weather and can be applied quickly, requiring no waiting time for curing or hardening.
