BESCHREIBUNG
DESCRIPTION
The invention relates to a baseboard arrangement according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
There are corner and end pieces made of plastic for skirting boards made of plywood, which are fastened to the wall by support strips.
These known corner and end pieces have plug connections for the ends of the plywood strips, which have constant strength and essentially a rectilinear cross section, which is bent along the upper edge to the wall. There are also known skirting boards made of solid wood, which have a narrow trapezoidal cross-section and lie on the floor with the wider base line, while the surface lying at right angles to the base line lies against the wall and the upper edge has a rounding or bevel.
These known strips are laid without end pieces, while the outer angles are formed either by miter cuts and rounding off or by wooden corner pieces, the latter being produced by turning and cutting into four pieces. The assembly of these known strips requires very precisely cut ends at right angles, while for the formation of the corners an adjustment is still often necessary, which is rarely aesthetically perfect. Furthermore, due to the continuous contact surface on the one hand and due to the unevenness and the deformations typical of solid wood on the other hand, the known solid wood slats hardly lie along the upper edge with acceptable perfection. This also applies, albeit to a lesser extent, to the support on the floor.
The invention has for its object to provide an arrangement with baseboards made of solid wood, which can optionally be clad, which can be installed without support strips, the end and corner pieces in a simple manner, without miter cuts, roundings or bends and without special angular accuracy can be laid, the support along the upper edge and the lower edge is secured.
The inventive design of the skirting board arrangement results from the characterizing part of patent claim 1.
The two narrow support areas and the one narrow support zone represent extreme limitations of the support surfaces and furthermore an assignment to the edge areas and thereby enable the edges to be supported continuously along the wall or
the floor, even in the presence of unevenness, which rarely meet the very limited support areas, or in the given case, can easily be removed for the limited area concerned, either as far as the wall is concerned or by adapting (partially removing) the support areas on the bar .
It is advantageous if both the corner piece and the end piece have insertion areas for the ends of the strips, each insertion area having a cover lip which protrudes vertically from a stop surface and conforms to the outer shape of the strip, and a tongue with both of the stop surface vertically a cross section corresponding to the groove, as well as a support corresponding to the hollow groove. In order to achieve a color continuity between the baseboard and corner and end pieces, these can be covered on the visible surfaces with the same film or treated with the same surface treatment.
The invention is explained in more detail with reference to a preferred exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, which is shown schematically in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a corner piece with inserted strips seen from the side facing the wall.
FIG. 2 is a top view of the corner piece shown in FIG. 1 including the strip pieces.
Fig. 3 shows the corner piece seen from below.
Fig. 4 shows an end piece which is plugged onto a last end.
FIG. 5 shows a top view of the corner piece shown in FIG. 4.
The strips 2 have two grooves 2b, 2d on the surface directed against the wall, the first of which is more wide than deep and has a rectangular cross section, the second has a cross section of a quarter circle area and lies in the angular zone formed by the floor and the wall. These grooves 2b define two narrow longitudinal support areas 2a, 2c, one 2a of which extends along the upper edge, while the other 2c forms the lower support and is spaced from the floor approximately by the radius of the groove 2d. The contact area of the strip 2 against the floor is delimited by the same concave groove 2d and optionally additionally delimited to one edge by the bevel 2e.
Both the corner piece 1 and the end piece 3 have lips 1b, 3b, which cover the end region of the strips 2, which are inserted between these lips 1b, 3b and tongues lf, 3f and supports lc, 3c, the latter protruding from the stop surface 1d , 3d and correspond to the grooves 2b and 2d on the bar 2. In particular, the tongues 2f, 3f have slightly converging upper and lower sides to form an acute angle - a - with the associated sides of the groove 2b on the bar 2 and so to facilitate the insertion and adjustment (alignment) of the corner or end piece in relation to the strip 2. The outer surfaces la, 3a of the end piece 1 and corner piece 3 can be processed and / or coated in order to maintain a color continuity with the bar 2.
The rounded outer surface lb of the corner piece ends laterally in cover lips lb which nestle against the outer contour of the strip 2, while the stop surfaces Id form the support for the ends of the strips 2 and are inclined against the rounding lg. The stop surfaces 1d are bevelled upwards on the underside 1 e in order to limit the contact area of the corner piece to the lower edge of the outer surface 1b; for this reason the rounding lg also ends at a distance from the floor and at the end piece the support 3c has a bevel 3e on the side facing the floor.
