Definitions
- the present invention relates to a suspended cassette ceiling, i.e. a suspended ceiling, in which at least some of the ceiling panels are replaced by decorative frames provided with cover panels, and which have decorative strips in the corner region between the wall and the suspended ceiling.
- Suspended ceiling systems are described in the two US Pat. Nos. 3,546,842 and 4,189,888, whereby, according to US Pat. No. 4,189,888, decorative strips are also used to cover the corner area between the wall and the suspended ceiling.
- some of the square ceiling panels are laid at different height levels by means of additionally inserted square support frames in order to produce a better design for large ceiling areas.
- the known suspended cassette ceilings have the disadvantage that the individual cassettes are not constructed from profiled strips, in particular not from those profiled strips which are also suitable for covering the joint area between the wall and ceiling and can thus serve as edge strips of a suspended cassette ceiling.
- the present invention is therefore based on the object to develop a system in which both the profiling of the frame parts and the profiling of the decorative strips, which serve to cover the corner area between the wall and the suspended ceiling, are the same and the decorative strips at the same time as a carrier for the Ceiling plates serve that adjoin the wall.
- profiled strips made of foam plastic serve both for the production of the cassette frame and for the decorative strips provided for the corner region between the wall and the suspended ceiling, the profiled strips 2 serving as decorative strips being designed in such a way that they can be easily attached to the Wall can be carried using concealed fittings (fastening devices).
- the profile strip has a mounting profile adapted to the fitting on its rear side.
- the mounting profile can have at least one recess into which a projection on the fitting engages in a force-locking manner.
- the recess is advantageously formed by a groove.
- the mounting profile on the back of the profile strip can also be formed from a first longitudinal groove near the upper rear edge of the profile strip and a parallel second longitudinal groove near the lower rear edge of the profile strip, both grooves extending over the entire length of the profile strip, and wherein the Fitting at its upper and lower ends each has a tongue-like projection which engages in the grooves. It may also be advantageous to form the support profile of the profile strip from two wedge-shaped incisions which delimit between them a dovetail-shaped profile section which engages in a free space of the fitting between two lip-like projections of the fitting, which are designed to be resilient.
- a quick and easy installation of a profile strip used according to the invention is particularly given when the mounting profile of the profile strip forms a snap or clamp connection with the fitting.
- At least one counter fitting is attached to the rear of the profile strip, which forms a snap or clamp connection with the fitting in the joint area between the wall and ceiling or wall and floor.
- the counter fitting can be screwed or pinned to the back of the profile strip.
- the counter fitting consists of a base plate which is attached to the back of the profile strip and has a sword-shaped projection with a spring-elastic incision which forms a clamp connection with a projection of the fitting.
- the fitting is designed as an angular strip, one of which has a strip part attached to the wall and the other of which the strip part protruding freely into the space engages in the incision of the sword-shaped projection on the counter fitting.
- the profile strip and / or the fitting also form the support surface for the suspended ceiling cladding.
- the profile strip forms the outer edge strip of a coffered ceiling, which is supported on the edge strip.
- the fittings for holding the profile strips used according to the invention in the joint area between the wall and the ceiling and the fittings for assembling the cassette frame according to the invention from the profile strips can consist of metal or plastic.
- the fittings preferably consist of a resilient, correspondingly angled metal sheet or of an extruded, resilient plastic profile, preferably of polyvinyl chloride.
- one of the things achieved is that the profile strips are held firmly on the fitting by the spring effect caused by the spring force and, if necessary, are pressed against the ceiling, thereby making it possible to compensate for unevenness in the course of the ceiling.
- the profile strip made of foam also serves to decorate the suspended ceiling, in that several identical profile strips are assembled like a frame to form a single cassette as a component of a cassette ceiling and on the outside on two abutting profile strips a corner fitting attacks to form a single cassette.
- the corner fitting can be designed as an angle fitting or as a spring clip, the corner fitting engaging in recesses on the outside of the abutting profile strips relative to the finished cassette.
- the profile strip according to the invention is denoted by 2, which is held by the fitting 1, which is held in the joint area between a vertical wall and a horizontal ceiling by means of nails, screws or other fastening means, of which only one screw head in Fig. 1 is visible.
- the profile strip has an ornamental profile 5 on its front in an exemplary design.
- the profile strip On the rear side 6, the profile strip has a mounting profile, which in the example consists of two parallel longitudinal grooves 7 and 8, into which tongues 9 and 10 of the fitting 1 engage.
- the upper bar 10 has a smooth profile on both sides, which engages non-positively in the longitudinal groove 8, for which purpose the width and depth of the longitudinal groove 8 is particularly adapted to the width and thickness of the tongue 10.
- the lower bar 9 has a cross section of a fir tree or herringbone-like profile, the inclined surfaces lying one below the other being able to be pressed elastically inwards from a starting position.
- the fir-tree-like profile of the strip 9 engages with pretension in the groove 7 of the profiled bar 5, the width of which is somewhat smaller than the width of the fir-tree-like profile in its untensioned starting position.
- both strips 9 and 10 can have a fir-tree-like profile, or both strips 9 and 10 have a smooth profile.
- the invention is not restricted to the exemplary embodiment, in which only two possible types of tongues are shown, which engage in the longitudinal grooves 7 and 8 of the profile strip in order to carry them. It is also clear to the person skilled in the art that, if necessary, a tongue on the fitting 1 is sufficient to hold a profile strip 2, which tongue engages in an adapted groove in the profile strip 2.
- the rear mounting profile of the profile strip 2 advantageously has continuous longitudinal grooves 7 and 8.
- Fig. 2 shows a further profile strip 2 according to the invention in a perspective view in rear view.
- the rear side 6 of the profile strip 2 has a flat longitudinal groove 11, in which the base plate 12 of one or more fittings 13 engages, which are held by means of screws 14 or 14 'on the profile strip 2, which engage through holes in the base plate of the fittings.
- a sword 16 protrudes freely from the base plate 12 with a spring-elastic incision 17 into which a ledge part 18 projecting from the wall engages a fitting 1 designed as an angle bar, the other ledge part 19 running parallel to the wall being held on the wall by means of nails or screws is.
- the thickness of the projecting strip part 18 is selected so that it engages under clamping tension in the slot 17 of the counter-fitting 13 in order to hold the profile bar 2 on the wall in a predetermined position.
- the strip part 18 advantageously has a thickening on its front edge 18 'which snaps into the extension 17' of the gap 17 at its rear end, the profile strip 2 then being in the desired position on the wall.
- a suspended ceiling 20 is indicated in cross section, in which the final edge strip is formed by the profile strip 1, which carries a horizontal ceiling portion 21, which is attached in a known manner by means of a hanging device 22 to the actual ceiling. 5, the counter fitting 13 on the fitting 1 is shown detached from the profile strip 2.
- Fig. 4 shows an enlarged view of the counter-fitting 13 in the clamped position on the fitting 1.
- fasteners 14 with a fir tree-like structure protrude, which are pressed into the profile strip in order to connect them firmly to the counter-fitting 13 in turn is slid onto the last part 18 of the fitting.
- Fig. 5 has a further profile strip 2 used according to the invention, which has incisions 25, 26 on the back, which delimit a dovetail-shaped profile middle part 27 on the back of the profile strip.
- This dovetail-shaped profile middle part 27 engages in the free space of a fitting 1 ', which has tongues 23 and 24 at its upper and lower ends, which snap into the incisions 25 and 26 in order to hold the profile strip on the fitting.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a suspended cassette ceiling, i.e. a suspended ceiling, in which at least some of the ceiling panels are replaced by decorative frames provided with cover panels, and which have decorative strips in the corner region between the wall and the suspended ceiling.
From DE-PS 194 779, US-PS 3 707 061 and US-PS 4 150 517 such trim strips for covering the corner area between the wall and ceiling, which are carried by special fastening devices, are known.
Suspended ceiling systems are described in the two US Pat. Nos. 3,546,842 and 4,189,888, whereby, according to US Pat. No. 4,189,888, decorative strips are also used to cover the corner area between the wall and the suspended ceiling. In the suspended ceiling according to US Pat. No. 3,546,842, some of the square ceiling panels are laid at different height levels by means of additionally inserted square support frames in order to produce a better design for large ceiling areas.
The known suspended cassette ceilings have the disadvantage that the individual cassettes are not constructed from profiled strips, in particular not from those profiled strips which are also suitable for covering the joint area between the wall and ceiling and can thus serve as edge strips of a suspended cassette ceiling.
The present invention is therefore based on the object to develop a system in which both the profiling of the frame parts and the profiling of the decorative strips, which serve to cover the corner area between the wall and the suspended ceiling, are the same and the decorative strips at the same time as a carrier for the Ceiling plates serve that adjoin the wall.
This object is achieved in that the same profiled strips made of foam plastic serve both for the production of the cassette frame and for the decorative strips provided for the corner region between the wall and the suspended ceiling, the profiled
In an advantageous embodiment according to the invention, the profile strip has a mounting profile adapted to the fitting on its rear side. The mounting profile can have at least one recess into which a projection on the fitting engages in a force-locking manner.
The recess is advantageously formed by a groove. The mounting profile on the back of the profile strip can also be formed from a first longitudinal groove near the upper rear edge of the profile strip and a parallel second longitudinal groove near the lower rear edge of the profile strip, both grooves extending over the entire length of the profile strip, and wherein the Fitting at its upper and lower ends each has a tongue-like projection which engages in the grooves. It may also be advantageous to form the support profile of the profile strip from two wedge-shaped incisions which delimit between them a dovetail-shaped profile section which engages in a free space of the fitting between two lip-like projections of the fitting, which are designed to be resilient.
A quick and easy installation of a profile strip used according to the invention is particularly given when the mounting profile of the profile strip forms a snap or clamp connection with the fitting.
In a further advantageous embodiment according to the invention, at least one counter fitting is attached to the rear of the profile strip, which forms a snap or clamp connection with the fitting in the joint area between the wall and ceiling or wall and floor. The counter fitting can be screwed or pinned to the back of the profile strip.
It is also advantageous if the counter fitting consists of a base plate which is attached to the back of the profile strip and has a sword-shaped projection with a spring-elastic incision which forms a clamp connection with a projection of the fitting. Furthermore, it can be of advantage if the fitting is designed as an angular strip, one of which has a strip part attached to the wall and the other of which the strip part protruding freely into the space engages in the incision of the sword-shaped projection on the counter fitting.
The profile strip and / or the fitting also form the support surface for the suspended ceiling cladding. The profile strip forms the outer edge strip of a coffered ceiling, which is supported on the edge strip.
The fittings for holding the profile strips used according to the invention in the joint area between the wall and the ceiling and the fittings for assembling the cassette frame according to the invention from the profile strips can consist of metal or plastic. The fittings preferably consist of a resilient, correspondingly angled metal sheet or of an extruded, resilient plastic profile, preferably of polyvinyl chloride. In the case of these resilient embodiments of the fittings preferred according to the invention, one of the things achieved is that the profile strips are held firmly on the fitting by the spring effect caused by the spring force and, if necessary, are pressed against the ceiling, thereby making it possible to compensate for unevenness in the course of the ceiling.
According to the invention, the profile strip made of foam also serves to decorate the suspended ceiling, in that several identical profile strips are assembled like a frame to form a single cassette as a component of a cassette ceiling and on the outside on two abutting profile strips a corner fitting attacks to form a single cassette. The corner fitting can be designed as an angle fitting or as a spring clip, the corner fitting engaging in recesses on the outside of the abutting profile strips relative to the finished cassette.
