Description
BESCHREIBUNG
Fig. 1 den oberen Schalenteil der Verpackungsschale,
Fig. 2 den unteren Schalenteil der Verpackungsschale, und
Fig. 3 einen Schnitt gemäss Linie III-III der Fig. 1.
DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a packaging tray for food, in particular for meat, with an upper tray part and a lower tray part, openings being provided in the upper tray part for draining off the liquid which accumulates in the upper tray part.
Packaging trays with two tray parts are known, the upper tray part having holes on the bottom. Furthermore, an intermediate layer made of liquid-absorbing material is provided between the two shell parts. These packaging trays enable food to be stored without the food being surrounded by the liquid that escapes from it. However, these packaging trays have the disadvantage that two different materials are necessary for their production and the absorbent substance provided between the two trays can offer difficulties from the point of view of food law.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a packaging tray for foodstuffs which is designed in such a way that the liquid which has escaped from the food and has flowed from the upper into the lower tray part cannot flow back into the upper tray part if the packaging tray is stored upside down, without that an intermediate layer must be provided. This is achieved according to the invention in that the openings are formed on projections extending from the upper shell part into the lower shell part.
Preferred embodiments result from the dependent claims.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention and its use are described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing. Show it:
1 the upper shell part of the packaging tray,
Fig. 2 shows the lower shell part of the packaging tray, and
3 shows a section along line III-III of FIG. 1.
Both the upper shell part 1 and the lower shell part 2 are produced from a thermoplastic material, preferably polystyrene, by means of a deep-drawing process. Films made of thermoplastic material are heated with contact heating or with heat radiation. Using a negative tool and using compressed air, the two shell parts are then made from the heated foils. Then 1 holes are punched out in the upper shell part. The shell parts lund 2 are then welded together on the horizontal parts 3 and 4 of their edges 5 and 6. The upper shell part 1 has transverse grooves 7 and
Longitudinal grooves 8 on. The longitudinal grooves 8 are provided with projections 9 projecting downwards.
The blood emerging from the meat stored in the upper shell part 1 collects in the grooves 7 and 8 and can flow downward into the lower shell part 2 through the lugs 9 provided with an opening 10. The lower shell part 2 is provided with transverse and longitudinal ribs 11 and 12, the longitudinal ribs 12 being provided with openings 13, so that the blood flowing from the upper shell part 1 into the lower shell part 2 is evenly distributed in the lower shell part 2.
3 shows a section along line III-III of FIG. 1. The provided with the openings 10, in the present case frustoconical approaches 9 causes the liquid that has flowed from the upper shell part 1 into the lower shell part 2 to remain in the lower shell part 2 even if the packaging shell is stored upside down, which would not be the case , if only openings would be provided instead of the lugs 9 in the upper shell part 1. The lugs 9 could also be cylindrical or cuboid, etc. In the method for producing the packaging tray described above, however, the frusto-conical configuration is the simplest in terms of the method.
The task, namely to store the packaged goods in the upper shell part as dry as possible, can be further supported by pressing the upper and lower shell parts together, whereby a certain suction effect arises as soon as no more pressure is exerted on the two parts, as a result of which Liquid is sucked from the upper shell part through the openings 10 in the lugs 9 in the lower shell part 2.
