Abstract
The small tubes (2, 3) integrated in the shovel handle (1) are a rod for searching for people buried in an avalanche (hereinafter called a probe). As soon as the avalanche shovel is taken along, the probe is automatically included. As a result of the bracing of the probe elements, the probe cannot slide out of the handle tube (1). If the centrally arranged element (3) is pulled out on the cord, the bracing is released and the five remaining parts (2) slide out in an unhindered manner. The conical handle side (5) is likewise elastically constructed and is clamped in by the shovel blade. Fig. 1 illustrates the shovel handle with the built-in avalanche probe in longitudinal cross-section. Fig. 2 is the plan view on the axis of rotation of Fig. 1, of the widened handle-tube part. A tube (1) is widened on one side and tapered on the other side. Five identical parts (2) of an avalanche probe are then pushed in through the widened part of the tube. The probe elements are distributed radially in the tube and then a sixth, shorter probe element (3) is pushed in centrally between the five probe elements (2) already pushed in. The deeper the central element (3) penetrates into the shovel handle, the more the entire system is braced so that all the parts can no longer fall out. <IMAGE>

PATENTANSPRÜCHE

PATENT CLAIMS
1. Hollow shovel handle in the form of a tube with an integrated avalanche burial search rod, characterized in that the rod has five tubes (2) arranged radially in the tube (1) and a tube (3) inserted exactly in the axis of rotation and that the tube (1) and the five radial tubes (2) are firmly clamped to the central tube (3) so that they can no longer slide out of the tube.
2. Shovel handle according to claim 1, characterized in that the tube (1) is thin-walled and made of light metal.
3. Shovel handle according to claim 1, characterized in that the tube (1) on the side (4) is expanded and stiff and on the opposite side (5) narrows and slits conically, is crimped and is elastically resilient.
4. Shovel handle according to claim 1, characterized in that the end of the central tube (3) protrudes and is pierced radially for receiving a flexible loop.
The present invention is defined in claim 1. Shovel body, hollow shovel handle and avalanche buried search rod (hereinafter referred to as the probe) form a unit. The shovel handle with the probe match standard shovels. The stem is designed to be light and can accommodate a six-part probe. The tapered conical stem part is pushed into the shovel.
Since it is designed to be elastic, it sticks in the shovel shaft. The radially arranged probe elements are tightened more and more by inserting the central element. All probe elements get stuck in the shovel handle and thus prevent them from sliding out. Below is a brief explanation based on the figures:
Fig. 1 shows the shovel handle cut open in the longitudinal direction with the built-in avalanche probe.
Fig. 2 is a top view of the axis of rotation of Fig. 1 of the extended stem tube part.
The five radially arranged tubes (2) and a centrally inserted tube (3) are arranged in the shovel handle in the form of a tube (1). If the centrally arranged tube (3) is pulled out, for example on a cord, the tension is released and the 5 tubes (2) slide out unhindered. In one embodiment, the tube (1) is thin-walled and made of light metal. In another embodiment, the tube (1) is expanded and stiff on the side (4) and conically narrowed on the opposite side (5).
The end of the central tube (3) can also protrude and be pierced to accommodate a flexible loop.
