Eye for hoes, spades and the like.

There are already conical eyes in picks, spades and the like. Known which have pyramidal ribs on their inner wall, the conicity of which is directed against that of the eye. The end of the stalk is inserted into this eye at the larger inner opening of the same, i.e. i. that opening, in which the tips of the ribs are located, inserted and secured against falling out by a split pin.

According to the present invention, the outer opening of the inward '! conically narrowing eye the. Insertion point of the conical handle, so that when the device is used, the tool is automatically clamped again.

The subject of the invention is shown in the drawing and shows Fig. 1 the bottom view and Fig. 2 a longitudinal section of the same in use on a pick.

As is already known, the conicity of the eye 2 is directed against that of the pyramidal ribs 3 arranged on the inner wall of the eye. According to the invention, the larger opening 5, in which the tips of the ribs are located, is located on the outside and forms the insertion point of the handle, of which the tool j! bearing end is conical and in which the ribs 3 penetrate with their tips.

When handling the device, the tool will tend to detach itself from the handle, which effort only contributes to the attachment of the tool because the ribs with their increasing cross-section penetrate further into the wood and thus further automatically. Clamping the tool is effected.
