13. Device according to one of the preceding patent claims, characterized in that the other conveyor track branches at right angles from the one conveyor track.
The invention relates to a device for conveying flexible flat structures, in particular of paper sheets, according to the preamble of claim 1.
Such devices are used, for example, to feed individual sheets, namely sheets of paper to a processing station, in which an object to be provided with the sheet is processed.
For example, such devices can be used to feed labels or the like to a package produced in a package former.
In known devices of this type - also known as corner conveyors - the flat structures are conveyed on both conveyor tracks in frictional engagement with feed elements which are effective for conveying, for example roller or roller conveyors or conveyor belts. Since the two conveyor tracks are at an angle to one another, the drive of the feed elements of both conveyor tracks is comparatively complicated. Such a drive requires (even at different conveyor speeds) a technical effort that should not be underestimated, quite apart from the fact that special precautions must be taken in the overlap area of the two conveyor tracks in order to ensure which feed elements should be effective at which point in time in relation to the fabric .
It is therefore a purpose of the invention to provide a device of the type mentioned in the introduction, in which the above-mentioned effort and the associated difficulties can be largely avoided. The invention is based on the knowledge that this purpose can best be achieved if the conveying principle of the flat structures on the two conveying tracks is different.
For this purpose, the proposed device has the features defined in claim 1. While the type of conveyance on one conveyor track can be done in a conventional manner by means of driven feed elements which engage the surface elements in a frictional manner, the type of conveyance on the other conveyor track is in a way a pneumatic one. The sheet of air is lifted by the blast of compressed air and then floats, as it were, on an air cushion floating along the other conveyor track.
Features of preferred embodiments are defined in the dependent claims.
An embodiment of the proposed device is described below purely for example with reference to the drawing. It shows:
1 shows a section along a vertical plane parallel to a conveyor track, namely through the overlap area of the two conveyor tracks,
Fig. 2 on an enlarged scale a section along a vertical plane through the longitudinal center of the other conveyor track through part of the overlap area, and
3 is a plan view of FIG. 2, with the lines I-I and II-II the course of the sectional planes of FIG. 1 and
2 is indicated.
In the device 10 shown in the drawing, the end section of a first conveyor can be seen on the left in FIG
derbahn 11. This has a conveyor channel 12 which is delimited at the bottom by a bottom plate 13 and at the top by a cover plate 14. The base plate 13 is interspersed with conveyor rollers 15 which are arranged at regular intervals and are constantly driven in the direction of the arrow and which cooperate with freely rotatable pressure rollers 16 which are spring-loaded on the conveyor rollers 15 and penetrate the cover plate 14.
The end section of the first conveyor track 11 has - as can be seen in FIG. 1 - a sloping part, which then merges again into a horizontally running part in which the last pair of a conveyor viewed in the direction of conveyance (arrow 23) of the first conveyor track 11 - And a pressure roller 15 or 16 is arranged.
Connected to the horizontal part is a slightly lower table 17, which forms the actual end of the first conveyor track 11 and at the same time the overlap area with the beginning of a second conveyor track to be described. The cover plate 14 also spans the table 17, which in turn has an ascending ramp 18 and a descending ramp 19. At the end of the table 77, the cover plate 14 is bent downward and thus forms a stop 21 for the sheetlike structures advanced from the last pair of rollers 15/16 onto the table 17, e.g. Sheets of paper. A nozzle assembly 22 is fastened under the top of the table 17, which - as will be shown later - by means of an impact-like compressed air jet in each case a flat structure located on the table 17 in a plane to the plane of the drawing in FIG.
1 is blowing at right angles and pointing away from the viewer (arrow 25) and thus also forms the first effective element of the second conveyor track. A flat structure, which reaches the table 17 until it hits the stop 21, largely nestles against the table 17 as long as the compressed air blast has not yet taken place and is thereby stiffened in the conveying direction of the second conveyor track.
2 and 3, the beginning section of the second conveyor track 24 is shown, the conveying direction of which is indicated by the arrow 25, this beginning section - as mentioned - also forming the end of the first conveyor track.
One recognizes the table 17 and the cover plate 14 spanning this, which forms the stop 21 with its end which is bent downwards (top in FIG. 3). The nozzle assembly 22 fastened on the underside of the table 17 by means of screws 26 can also be seen.
The nozzle assembly 22 has a nozzle block 27 to which a compressed air line 28 is connected. The compressed air supplied from the line 28 passes through passages 29, 30 formed in the nozzle block 27 to the inlet 31 of a valve 33 which can be actuated by means of an electromagnet 32 and is flanged to the nozzle block 27. The outlet 34 of the valve 33 is connected to a passage 35 formed in the nozzle block 27, the end section of which extends in the manner of a blowing nozzle 36 in the direction of the arrow 25 in FIG. It can also be seen from FIG. 3 that the blowing nozzle 36 is arranged longitudinally with respect to the second conveyor track 24.
So that an air jet 37 emerging from the blowing nozzle 36 can act on the lower side of a sheet material that has reached the table 17, here a sheet of paper P. there is a passage 38 in the table 17, e.g. in the form of a circular hole.
1 and 2 can be seen. that the table 17 is spanned by a bar 39 in the region of its rear edge seen in the conveying direction 25, leaving a gap 40 free. This bar 39 has the same longitudinal profile as the upper side of the table 17. Thus, the trailing edge of the paper sheet P seen in the conveying direction of the second conveyor track 24 remains slightly lifted off the table 17, so that between its top and the sheet P in the direction of Arrow 25 tapering, wedge-shaped space 41 is formed. It is this space 41 that is acted upon by the pulsed air jet 37.
The air jet 37 also acts as an injector in the sense that ambient air is entrained by the air jet 37. So that this effect does not lead to a negative pressure between part of the paper sheet P and the table 17 and thus would inhibit the conveyance of the paper sheet P in the direction of arrow 25. the gap 40 is provided between the bar 39 and the top of the table 17. Ambient air can flow in unhindered through this gap. A similar purpose, namely to enable the unimpeded flow of ambient air. are indentations 42 formed in the nozzle block 24 on both sides of the blowing nozzle 36.
Finally, in the part of the cover plate 14 which spans the table 17, there is an oval opening 43 which is elongated in the direction of the arrow 25 and which is intended to allow the central region of the sheet of paper P to be restricted at the moment of impact by the compressed air blast bulge, which favors the creation of the air cushion under the paper sheet P which has a positive effect on conveyance.
The paper sheet P is also laterally guided along the second conveyor track 24 through uninterrupted guide walls (not shown), which also serve to at least inhibit a lateral outflow of the air from the air cushion.
Depending on the length of the second conveyor track 24, a plurality of successive nozzle assemblies can be mounted in it, which are constructed similarly to the nozzle assembly 22. are.
It is important that the compressed air jet only starts when a fabric coming from the first guideway 11 lies completely on the table and the bar 39. To achieve this, i.e. in order to briefly open the valve 33 at the right time, a position sensor, e.g. a light barrier 44 (FIG. 1) can be arranged in the vicinity of the stop 21, via which the electromagnet 32 actuating the valve 33 is then controlled.
