Fig. 1 zeigt eine perspektivische Gesamtansicht der Vorrichtung.
Device for the treatment of continuous film webs with edge loops in the tensioned state
It is known to continuously stretch or shrink film webs which are provided with edge beads on both sides by holding them on the edge beads by pairs of idle, inclined rollers, or by guiding the edge beads in fixed channels provided with a slit, the slot being wide enough for the film to pass through and narrow enough to prevent the beads from slipping through.
The major disadvantage of these arrangements is that the frictional resistances of the rollers or the film in the channels - which are also known to be provided with plastic inserts to reduce friction - add up over the entire length of the web and due to the pull in the film at the take-off end must be overcome. Only as long as the transverse stresses in the film remain low and the entire length of the device is short, these tensile forces can be withstood by the film itself without tearing at the pull-off end - where these forces reach their maximum value.
Another disadvantage of these arrangements is that it is difficult to reinsert a torn film, since no transport means are provided which further convey the new beginning of the subsequent film web. Since the available treatment time is proportional to the length of the treatment path at a constant working speed, it is also desirable to build arrangements that are as long as possible. Since the pull-off force in the above-mentioned devices increases more rapidly than linearly with the length, if considerable transverse forces are still active, a limit for the length of the treatment section caused by the film strength is reached very quickly.
The situation becomes particularly difficult if the film passes through a state of low strength during a thermal or chemical treatment, for example, which in reality often occurs.
It has now been found that, regardless of the strength properties of the film, treatment sections of practically any length can be built if the frictional forces arising as a result of the relative movement between the rollers or the channel and the film and thus the harmful film loads caused by the use of moving, for the inclusion of the bead serving channels can be avoided.
The subject of the present invention is therefore a device for the treatment of continuous film webs provided with edge beads in the tensioned state with laterally pivotable supports arranged on both sides of the web, on which guide channels for the beads of the web are arranged, which is characterized in that the guide channels on at least one are attached with a separate drive, arranged on carriers transport device. The frictional forces occurring between the structural elements forming the channels and the stationary part of the arrangement can be absorbed by suitable, preferably endless chain or cable drives.
If z. If, for example, the chain hoist is brought into engagement with driven gears at several points along the treatment line, relatively small chain thicknesses can be used. Since the accompanying guide channels serving for receiving the beaded edge can be arranged to diverge or converge to the running film web in a variety of known ways, it is possible to assign this self-propelled arrangement in the direction of the film web to stretching or shrinking the films provided with edge beads use.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the inventive concept is shown schematically.
Fig. 1 shows a perspective overall view of the device. The guide channels for the edge beads of the web, which run around independently with the film web, are arranged on supports which are shown in a diverging position.
2 shows a side view, seen from the film side of the device, of two articulated chain drives with mutually engaging individual links which together form co-rotating bead guide channels that loosely encompass the beads of the film.
Fig. 3 illustrates a cross section through the two chain drives arranged on a carrier with the interengaging links forming the circumferential guide channel.
As can be seen from the figures, each of the guide channels encompassing the two edge beads of the film web is formed from a large number of individual, superimposed links attached to two chain blocks arranged in parallel, and a part of the channel profile is incorporated into each of the outwardly lying surfaces which lie in pairs with their profiled surfaces against each other at the beginning of the chain drives, so that the complete channel profile is formed, and which detach from each other again at the end of the chain drives to then return to the beginning of the endless chain drives.
The film to be treated, which is equipped with the edge beads 2, is designated in detail by 1. The link chain drives 3 and 4 have links 5 and 6 on the outside which, when they are in engagement with one another (FIGS. 2 and 3), form the guide channel for an edge bead of the film web. Two joint chain drives 3, 4 working together are arranged on each side of the film web (see FIG. 1).
The articulated chain drives 3 and 4 with the links 5 and 6 forming the guide channel run over driven gears 7 and are kept under suitable tension by known devices, not shown. The channel links 5 and 6 are structurally combined with the actual chain links 8 that influence their interaction to form the channel to form a unit according to FIG.
To form a dimensionally stable channel suitable for receiving a bead, it is essential that the channel members 5 and 6 are pressed together with a force sufficient to prevent the channel from breaking open as a result of the force effects of the separately drawn film 1, 2. For this purpose, the rollers 9 of the chain links 8 run in the entire area where the channel is formed on rails 10, which transmit the required pressure force to the channel links 5 and 6 via the bolts 11 with the aid of the springs 12 and the screw 13. Each channel link 5 of the one chain drive 3 engages with an elevation in a corresponding recess of the channel link 6 of the other chain drive 4 that engages with it, so that the pressure forces transmitted to them by the rails 1G on both sides of the elevation or
Deepening come into effect, the upper and lower part of the channel buried in the links 5 and 6 are exactly one above the other and the intended channel for the bead of the film and the gap for the film itself between the end faces of the two interengaged members are observed becomes. The transverse force of the film to be stretched on the clamped links 5 and 6, which is directed towards the center of the web, is absorbed by ball bearings 14. The housing 15 can consist of two parts which are fastened with the aid of the screws 17 on a common base plate 16, which forms one of the laterally pivotable supports arranged on both sides of the track.
The base plates 16, viewed in the running direction of the film web and the chain drives, can be pivoted in parallel, diverging or converging. In the case of very long chains, the rail 10 can be interrupted at certain intervals in order to use an externally driven toothed wheel and in this way relieve the chain of an excessive longitudinal pull that adds up due to the friction.
Suitable guide rails (not shown) can be provided at the inlet for better introduction of the edge bead into the channel being formed.
