PATENTANSPRÜCHE

PATENT CLAIMS
1. Control device for physically disabled people who are able to control all functions of a television set (5) and technical means (8) in the everyday environment with a single contact (6), characterized by an electronic control unit (7), to which said contact (6) is connected, and a monitor for displaying the various control options, the control unit (7) switching means for generating the display signals for the monitor and circuit means for generating the control signals for the television set (5) and for the technical ones Contains means (8) in the everyday environment.
2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that a television set serves as a monitor.
3. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that a mouth contact or a sensor for tongue contact serves as the contact.
4. The device according to claim 1, characterized in that a hand contact is provided as a contact.
The invention relates to a control device according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
With conventional control devices, a patient could use various technical means such as B. Only switch TVs and radios on and off. For this purpose, he also needed an associated switch contact (e.g. tongue contact) for each device that was to be controlled and a cable connection had to be established for each device, which led to many cable connections in the room.
So far, it was a major disadvantage that the switching states of the various devices to be controlled had to be displayed to the patient on a separate display panel.
The object of the invention is to avoid these disadvantages and to provide a control device with an electronic control device which only requires a single contact for all controls.
This object is achieved by the characterizing features of patent claim 1.
Special types of implementation emerge from the dependent claims.
The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of an exemplary embodiment schematically illustrated in the drawings.
Show it:
Figure 1 - The basic structure of a control device
Figure 2- Representation of the television pictures when controlling a television receiver
Figure 3 - A detailed structure of an electronic control unit.
The computer-controlled electronic control unit helps severely disabled people such as Quadriplegics who can only work with the tongue, without outside help, technical means in everyday life such as B. TV set bed, telephone, alarm. Control radio etc. yourself in a simple way.
The mode of operation of the control unit is described in detail below.
With the new device 7 (video control), only a single contact 6 is required for all controls and all devices 5, 8 are controlled via infrared transmitters.
The big disadvantage that the switching states of the various devices had to be displayed to the patient on a separate display panel also does not apply to the new computer-controlled device, because everything the patient needs to know can be displayed on a standard TV.
Operation of the device: ¯ after the first actuation of the contact 6 z. B. a tongue sensor, the television is automatically switched on via infrared transmitter ¯ after that a menu overview appears on screen 5 ¯ with the help of a running arrow 4 on screen 5, the patient can control the various devices in subroutines with the same contact.
For example, the patient wants to watch a television program: ¯ after the first actuation of the contact 6, the television 5 is switched on automatically ¯ after that, the main menu 1 appears on the screen 5. The computer shows here what the patient can control and a running arrow 4 jumps from one address to another ¯ Now the patient waits until the current arrow 4 is in front of the address TV and then presses the contact twice. 6 ¯ Now the computer jumps to a subroutine that gives the patient the television channel selection 2 displays. (The various TV channels can be set here).
The patient now waits again until the running arrow is in front of the number two (in our example, the TV channel DRS is set to number two) and presses again on his contact - the TV channel DRS appears automatically on the screen, and the patient can watch this television program.
¯ The next time you press 6, the computer will display TV setting 3 on the screen. In the same procedure, the patient can e.g. B. change the volume of the television sound (this happens exactly the same as with a normal television remote control, as long as he presses on his contact 6 e.g. the volume changes) ¯if the patient makes contact 6 in the television setting 3 but not activated, the arrow on the screen passes the setting options and the computer automatically jumps back to main menu 1 where the patient can switch off the television set or control the other functions.
