Abstract
The refuse introduced into a compaction chamber (4) are compressed by means of a press (5a, 5b) and are conveyed through an automatic door into a collection chamber (10) of a container. A decontamination device (9) which surrounds the automatic door disinfects and sterilizes the incoming refuse by means of ozone, steam and chemical agents.

6. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that two or three of the media hot steam, ozone and chemicals are used in combination for detoxification.
7. Garbage collection and compaction container for carrying out the method according to claim 1, characterized in that the detoxification device (9) is arranged at the point at which the garbage compressed by a pressing device (5a, 5b) is introduced into the collection space (10) .
8. Container according to claim 7, characterized in that the detoxification device (9) is designed as an annular tube provided with several spray openings, which surrounds the inlet opening of the refuse into the collecting space.
9. Container according to claim 8, characterized in that the inlet opening is closed by a lid (7) which opens automatically as a function of the pressing pressure, the opening of which also controls the commissioning of the detoxification device.
The invention has the purpose of treating the refuse introduced and compacted in the collecting space of a refuse container in such a way that disinfection and odor control is achieved.
In order to meet the increasing transport costs by having to remove the waste less often, ever larger containers are being used. Today, compressors are used on the containers, which enable a compression ratio of up to 6: 1, which then often leads to dehydration of the waste brought in.
The increased storage time of the waste in the collecting room of the container as a result of these measures also causes difficulties, since the waste is decomposed by putrefactive bacteria (e.g. coli bacteria), particularly in the warm season, which leads to poisoning of the contents and unpleasant odor emissions. Completely gastight containers are feasible per se, but their price is too high for widespread use; otherwise the problem of odor and poison emissions during waste disposal would not be solved either.
The invention attempts to overcome the difficulties mentioned above by installing a detoxification and sterilization device. For example, the targeted use of chemicals can make the goods brought into the collection room germ-free. However, other means such as hot steam, ozone or laser beams can also be used for this detoxification.
An embodiment of a container with which the method according to the invention can be carried out is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing.
In the collection and compaction container shown partially in section in Fig. 1, the garbage is thrown in by lifting the lid 2, gets into a waste storage 3 and from there into the compression space 4, which is closed during the compaction by a lid 6. To compress the garbage in the room 4, a compression plate 5b is pushed forward by the hydraulic cylinder 5a, at the same time the cover 6 also closes the room 4 at the top. Until the prescribed compression is reached, the automatically actuated closing plate 7 to the collecting space 10 remains closed and is opened by means of a hydraulic cylinder 8. The detoxification device is automatically activated when the closing plate 7 is opened, so that the detergent entering the collecting space 10 is activated Garbage is treated.
For this purpose, in the present case, an annular tube 9 is provided which surrounds the inlet opening and has spray nozzles distributed over its circumference. Chemicals and / or ozone and / or hot steam are supplied to the ring tube 9. The hot steam is preferably generated in a continuous-flow heater, the chemicals and the ozone are fed into the ring tube 9 under high pressure.
Instead of the media mentioned, a high-intensity laser beam of UV light could also be used for disinfection and sterilization.
The waste collecting space 10 has an emptying opening on the back, which is closed by a cover 11. As can be seen from the enlarged FIG. 2, a particularly good seal 12 is provided between the plate 11 and the container wall.
